You can hate on the Eagles as long as, due to Vinylbanit's latest assertion, Chicago doesn't get any hate...Any hating on Chicago will result in fisticuffs.

i have no great love for chicagojust pointing out that releasing a new album every year wasn't a big deal then as it is nowhell, just ten years prior to the eagles/fleetwood mac/chicago/whoever else doing thatmost bands were putting out two new albums every year

Spoon and Kings of Leon.I still like Spoon though.

??? The EaglesAre you kidding me? The only two memebers left from the start of the group (Peaceful, Easy Feeling kinda sound) are Don and Glenn. Early on, they were much more of a country rock group. Banjo's, steele guitar, Bernie's rolling guitar style, ect. They then move over to define the easy listening sound of the west coast and later pick up Joe Walsh which added a harder rock element and produce rock greatness in Hotel California. And along the way, collect enough songs to put together a greatest hits album which ranks as one of the best sellers of all time. Not to shabby for a band whose songs sound all the same huh? The sound and styles clearly change as the group changed....like them or not, you dont know what your talking about here.

As someone who once thought "Take It Easy" was the greatest song ever penned, I can attest to the fact that the Eagles suck pretty hard. I can't believe I ever contributed to the mind-boggling success of their greatest hits album. I've never thought of CCR as stylistically diverse or sophisticated, but when I get drunk, you might hear me claim they're my favorite band of all time. I just love the sound. The only strike against them is that they weren't actually born and raised in the American South (and obviously, Mardi Gras kinda stuck up the place). And I'll add a new one: The Who's big CSI hits are practically indistinguishable at points. Super Bowl show was great, but folks who had more than three beers by the half probably didn't realize more than one song was performed.

1. Nickelback 2. Daughtry 3. NickelbackI'm actually kind of relieved that Nickelback hasn't been mentioned more. It shows that people out there aren't even paying attention to that corporate rock business. Well done people.

Or maybe it shows that you aren't paying attention to the topic at hand.

Yeah, I'll weigh in on some I love that all sound the same...The Guess WhoMotley CruePoisonKISS (other than Revenge... by far their best)My Chemical Romance (for the most part)Europe (but its so fucking epic)Electric Six (but its so fucking epic)Chuck Berry The Four Topsand I'll even throw Bon Jovi in the mix, because they use some of the same riffs and lyrics to reference other songs throughout multiple albums, creating songs that have different meaning and musical timbre, but tend to sound very similar nonetheless.
