Schedules get released tomorrow
4/19/2010 2:55:23 PM
Denver sends TE Tony Scheffler and a 7th to Detroit, who send Ernie Sims to Philly, who send a 5th round pick to Denver.Philly gets Ernie Sims for a 5th round pick and 2010 continues to be "the year trade value was completely and utterly ignored."
4/20/2010 7:36:26 AM
What the fuck is up with 5th round for Legitimate Talent and Starters.... I am no genius as to Cap Space; Bargaining Agreement, etc...but I must be missing the hell out of something III
4/20/2010 9:15:53 AM
Donovan McNabb wants TO in a Redskins uniform. I knew that they are boys again but does anyone see the Redskins signing TO's old ass?
4/20/2010 10:22:47 AM
^i hope not. we have young WR's that need to grow....not be held back by some team cancer
4/20/2010 10:40:46 AM
Day after Skins got McNaab, I told friends and family that he will advocate for T.O. to come to Washington. He may not really like T.O. but McNaab is a baller and winner and knows he needs a quality WR and Skins will be instant Playoff Contenders, if not NFC Favorites (Behind N.O. and Vikings-if Favre returns).Question is...will Skins pull trigger on the "Cancer". I personally would like to see the league Blackball T.O. and no one get him or pay him close to league min lol. But someone will get him and he will produce. May hurt the team after a year, but will produce.Who knows, maybe the past year has humbled him... III
4/20/2010 10:45:55 AM
Skins WR core is atrocious. Neither of their starting WRs are above 6 feet. They need someone bad even if its TO who is an asshole.
4/20/2010 10:50:57 AM
^ yup III
4/20/2010 11:00:15 AM
sign Torry then, the dude is out there
4/20/2010 11:31:10 AM
I thought I read on here earlier that he was going to sign with the Pats.Spring Game thread maybe? I can't remember.
4/20/2010 11:39:35 AM
^Someone posted that in the Spring Game thread, and there are rumors but I sure have not seen any difinitve evidence of Holt going to my team (Pats). He is available though, not sure why no one has scooped him yet. Hoping Panthers are trying to land local fav. III
4/20/2010 12:12:19 PM
I really hope the skins don't bring him on
4/20/2010 12:23:50 PM
4/20/2010 12:33:30 PM
I just thought the Raiders were a F^ed up run team...proven year in and year out. But good example. And I can feel a team on wanting to get rid of a player, but come on...some of these guys are easily more capable of getting a better bargain. III
4/20/2010 12:40:56 PM
There are just a lot of things that factor in to it.With Holmes, you are getting a good WR, but he's going to be suspended the first 4 games of the next year and is a risk because of his off-the-field issues. So not only were the Steelers looking for a team that needed a WR, but also a team that wanted to take a gamble on a player with issues. And Holmes it still somewhat under-sized as a WR. Basically they jumped at the first offer. At the most, they might have been able to get a 3rd rounder for him...but it's a deep draft, and draft picks are at a premium this year. Shit, Donovan McNabb went for a 2nd rounder and he's been one of the top QBs in the league for the past 10 years (that's available at least). If you aren't a superstar (I would say that Holmes wasn't close...just an above average WR), then you're not going garner a high draft pick in a trade this year. And if you have off the field issues and the team wants you out of their sight...then you're going for a 4th or 5th rounder.
4/20/2010 12:56:05 PM
Weird that somebody just brought up the Torry Holt to the Pats thing, because they just signed him to a 1 year deal
4/20/2010 2:00:48 PM
^really? Link....My Pats making moves...back for another ring if we get this Def End and Backfield straight III
4/20/2010 2:08:15 PM
NM, found on ESPN...well damn, excited I am III
4/20/2010 2:10:50 PM
I don't like cheering against Torry...but I'll have to do it this year. Here's for him having big games and the Pats losing.
4/20/2010 2:12:09 PM
Some other news coming from Mike Lombardi:The Jets have reportedly put LG Alan Faneca, DE Shaun Ellis, and OLB Bryan Thomas on the trade block.According to Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post, the players may all be released after the draft if no takers are found. Though Faneca was voted to the 2009 Pro Bowl (undeservedly, again), he graded out poorly last season as a pass blocker and wasn't a difference maker in the running game. He's also due a $7.5 million base salary going on age 34. Ellis is aging and injury prone. Thomas is simply an unproductive pass rusher.
4/20/2010 2:16:22 PM
Wekk 17 is all division games, in an effort to prevent teams from resting players, hoping playing their rivals will make them more likely to try to win.The ironic with this is that the team who is responsible for this, the Colts, play in the division that has the lead bad blood out of all of them. No one gets pumped for Colts/Texans, Jaguars/Titans, or any combination of those teams.
4/20/2010 2:18:13 PM
^ That and the fact that if teams already have spots locked up they won't really give two shits who they are playing, ala Saints-Panthers at the end of last year
4/20/2010 2:24:44 PM
Right, but the thinking was that if its a game like Steelers/Ravens or Dallas/Philly, they'll play to win just because they don't like each other, no matter the stakes
4/20/2010 2:26:53 PM
I think it is a good strategy. And maybe in some case it will come up to the last division game to determine final standings. But I do hate seeing resting the starters the last week... All of these moves are going to change up the draft. Can't wait. III

In the last 2 years 3/4 of the AFC and 1/2 of the NFC division races were determined by a game. Better to roll the dice and hope there are some good battles on week 17. The Eagles/Cowboys have been playing each other for something the last two years and the Broncos/Chargers played for the division in '08. Thats better than watching the Ravens play the Raiders or Jets play the Curtis Painter Colts to cakewalk into the playoffs.
4/20/2010 2:46:25 PM
Word is Jason Taylor signed with Jets, looking for Link. Figured it was going to come down to Jets or Pats, but thought his "hatred" for Jets would land him with Pats whom have shown interest for couple of years. 4/20/2010 3:53:29 PM
4/20/2010 3:58:24 PM
Exactly my point
4/20/2010 3:58:56 PM
^^^^ if true, the schedule makes sense for the rumored Winter Classic @ Heinz Field.
4/20/2010 4:28:45 PM
4/21/2010 10:12:30 AM
Go Pats, Go Brady, Go Moss, Go Holt....Just hope Welker makes it back early...sick WR depth when Welker makes it back. (Especially with Eidilman (sp??)I still think Pats will draft a WR for long run, bc this will most likely be Moss's last year with Pats. III
4/21/2010 10:32:29 AM
Cowherd just said Big Ben suspended 4-6 games and that can be reduced to 3-4 if certain conditions are met.
4/21/2010 10:36:08 AM
that's such crap. I mean, sure, the guy needs to put himself in better situations than ones where he's tryin to get some young strange. but he never even went to trial for fuck's sake!
4/21/2010 10:38:58 AM
well isnt that just perfect with the scheduling6 weeks out, 1 week to get back to form, then three primetime games in a rowGET THEM STORYLINES RIGHT NFL
4/21/2010 10:40:03 AM
Schefter twittered today that the Steelers have been trying to shop Roethlisberger to teams for a top ten pick. If this is the case, Buffalo should jump all over that
4/21/2010 1:20:02 PM
http://nflspinzone.com/2010/04/22/ben-roethlisberger-to-oakland-raiders-a-done-deal/?utm_source=####.comIf they are correct this is a monster deal. Big Ben to Oakland for Asomugha and a swap of first rounders. Wow. Never been on nflspinzone.com so take it how you want, but they have it on their front page. [Edited on April 22, 2010 at 2:56 PM. 4/22/2010 2:46:51 PM
No mention of it yet on the Twitter machine. You would think mort or schefter would be all over it.
4/22/2010 3:08:17 PM
^5 No it's not bullshit, the NFL's policy is based on public opinion only. Ben's actions put the NFL in a bad light and that is what the policy is all about

"Have the Denver Broncos Unearthed a Gem?" (Toney Baker)http://www.milehighreport.com/2010/5/10/1466167/have-the-denver-broncos-unearthedHas a video of highlights that are jaw-dropping (especially when you see some the guys playing QB and realize defenses could have just put 8-9 guys in the box). Hope he can stay healthy.
