i'm paying for my own school too. not out of pocket. well i mean yes out of pocket but right now i have loans. so i guess it is coming out of my pocket eventually? just not all at once.

anyway i've just been depressed and unmotivated but i finally hit rock bottom and now i'm trying to change but its so hard when things keep effing up.

"

WHAT THE FUCK? that is messed up. i'm going to be mad if mine says something similar. i mean it has to be the roof i'm on the top. but we'll see i suppose.

Do you have a routine to your life? Even if you are going through the motions, it helps you not to stagnate.

(going to class could be a good start!)

you just have to think about crappy things in a more positive light.

for me? yeah it sucks i'm dealing with this pipe issue but it could have been a lot worse. i'm fortunate that i was at my house, the tenant upstairs was home, and the owner of the condo above me was able to get over to the condo ASAP when it happened. if i wasn't home and we weren't aware of what was going on, a lot more damage could have been done.

plus, with me renting out my place in the next couple of months.....i'm glad it happened now while i still live there and not a tenant. i wouldn't want to put a tenant through this.

these bad things keep happening to you because you're a mean person...

since I've "known" you, you've:

-called me names
-made fun of me
-wished that my relationship would end so that you would have entertainment
-and even tonight, threatened me with bodily harm

it's called karma, you jerk

^^^ no. i'm trying to get into a routineeeee. which is why i broke down all of the days this week into teenie tiny tasks that i can check off (even like "shower" is a task) so that i feel like i'm accomplishing things and so the day doesn't seem so overwhelming. it worked today!

^^ i know. i'm totally trying. i think with my vitamin d booster i'll have more energy and just like mentally making the choice to be more positive should help. i'm also glad that i'm still in my condo instead of having a tenant in it (esp cause my toilet broke AND fridge broke this year haha). i'm going to try to rent mine out starting this summer. do you already have a tenant for yours? is yours in raleigh?

^ hahahaha. i forgot about the relationship thing.

LOL, actually, the more I've studied eastern religions, especially buddhism, I've been more and more at peace, and in a better state of mind.

^^^ well i'm not entertained unless you dish

^^ when are you looking to start renting it out?

^ i know! after i got back from china i was really into eastern stuff for awhile. i want to start doing qi gong. i wonder if they have dvds for that lol. and it seems pathetic but for the last month i've stayed in bed for days at a time without a shower. i mean it doesn't seem pathetic it IS pathetic. i have never felt that bad in my life but i just started thinking that my mom would NOT want to see me like this so even if that is my only motivation for right now, at least it is motivation. and hopefully before too long i will actually be SELF motivated again

I know in charlotte, there are meditation centers, and many yoga places also do meditation. I'm sure there are places you could go in Raleigh.

I don't know if meditation or yoga at the Y is the way to go. Actually, most Y's do very basic yoga, so you might want to give that a try again, but w/ a different instructor.

Y meditation, though..... hahah

my check engine light came on

*SIGH*

and my front bumper is totally falling off again.

and my car needs to be inspected but obvi won't pass cause of the check engine light and maintenance required light. and now i'm going to have to tell my dad. because i'm poor and can't afford to fix it. so my graduation money (which already mostly went to pay my kaplan class) will probably have to go to fix my car.

maybe it will be a minor problem?!

You could take it down to Autozone and have them reset the error code on the onboard diagnostics, then drive it to be inspected. It's what my dad did for a number of years for his 96 Ford Taurus.

As for the front bumper:

yea i did that last year. but you have to drive like 200 miles or something before they'll inspect it and what if the shit comes back on? i guess i'll do it again. but it won't turn the check engine light off right? so that would still be a problem yes? or will it reset everything?

and my bumper like is just loose cause like a few months ago this summer someone hit my car in the parking lot and like pulled away and like tore off part of my bumper but my dad fixed it it just needed to be screwed back in but NOW the hole where you put the screw is like rusted/corroded (? is that a word?) so like its not a hole anymore its a semi circle so it just falls down again when i try to screw it back up.

You should be able to go to a car store (Auto Zone, Napa, ect), and they'll read the onboard diagnostics for free, as well as reset it for you as well. Then get in the car, drive down to have it inspected. The check engine light just means that the onboard diagnostics is flagging an error from one of the sensors. Hell, one of the sensors could be bad (like an O2 sensor).

You may need to drive the car around a bit. I'm just telling you what my father did. His Taurus had an O2 sensor problem, that even after replacing the O2 sensors, it would still throw an error. So the only way to get it to pass was to have someone reset the error.

Perhaps newer cars store when the OBD was reset, that I don't know.

And if it doesn't pass, then it doesn't pass. It's not like it's college where you're fucked for a semester.

as kadwackle already knows, you have to drive the car a while after a reset before it will pass inspection. if you drive it enough and the code doesn't come back, then it will pass, but chances are it will come back on.

Totally kacwackle! It could be extremely minor actually. More than likely it's something simple like a sensor of some kind. It could even be that the gas cap isn't on very tight or that it needs to be replaced, lol. You can have the code checked for free at advance auto, although sometimes the error code will say one thing but is actually being caused by something else. Regardless, I'd have the code checked at autozone or advance auto parts or a similar store first. That way when you go in to have it looked at you wont have to worry as much about the shop saying something insane is wrong if it actually isn't.

Well, then either the code was being triggered by something else or the wrong O2 sensor was replaced (This happens quite often honestly). It is also possible to only throw one error code and yet have more than one issue. This can happen when one problem is "hidden" from the computer by the other problem. You'll want to have the codes read again if something like that happens, because the problem is not actually fixed.

in the words of SaabTurbo: WELL IT HAS BEEN AWHILE SINCE I'VE HAD A MISHAP MY SONS.

but while i was cleaning tonight i stepped on a thumbtack like this:

and it went 150% into the center of the heel of my foot. 150% because it went ALL the way in but i stepped all the way down on it so it went all the way in and was TIGHT in there. it took me 5 minutes to work up the guts to pull it out cause it hurt more to pull out (getting a grip was hard) than it did going in.

then lots of blood drip dripping on my floor.
