I thought it was pretty shitty that they had that production and all those background singers singing with Lee in the 2nd round. It seemed a little unfair to the other contestants... Imagine how they felt if they saw that shit in rehearsals. I wouldn't have performed at my best either.

I thought all the backup on Lee's number was too much and distracted from his killer vocals. Hallelujah is a fucking great song, and while I don't think he needed to do the whole thing acoustic, it was a bit overdone. Kill the horns and half the number of backup singers, and it would have been golden.

Casey's arrangement on Daughters was the opposite--too spare, almost sleepy. If the contestants arrange the song, he did it poorly--if the song is arranged for them, he was done a disservice.

Crystal did a damn good job with Maybe I'm Amazed, and I think she was done the biggest favor by the arrangement.

OK so, I just watched both last night's and tonight's episodes.

Casey was by far the worst of the three in both performances, and based on that he deserved to go.

I am beyond pleased at a Crystal/Lee finale.


I think the reason that Lee changed up the "Hallelujah" song so much is because every time that song has been done on this show (and it has been done quite a bit), it has always been done with minimal back-up vocals and minimal back-up instruments. It has always been the singer and a single instrument (for the most part). At least, as far back as I can remember, that has been the case.

Lee just wanted to change it up from how America typically hears it. And I don't blame him one bit! Once I get beyond the fact that it's not what I'm used to hearing, I really do think Lee's arrangement was actually pretty freaking awesome.

The contestants are the ones (for the most part) who pick their arrangements. I'm 99% certain that Lee is the one who chose to have such accompaniment on his song. And I think it was a good choice. I think he rocked the house with that performance.

I think Crystal was better, but I think all of Casey's teeny bopper votes will shift to Lee because he's a cute boy, and let's face it - the teeny boppers vote for the cute boys.

I predict Lee will win it, but Crystal will have a great (if not better) career as well.

According to all the prediction sites Lee has won.

Dial Idol shows it as being a landslide for Lee.

Though Crystal was better last night, but I think Lee has been more consistent through out the season.

well I predicted that would happen, and rightly so, Lee's style is tailor made to get voted on idol

nuttin wrong with that, but it is a teeny bopper show, and teeny boppers dont like soul music (thats why they dont feel Big Mike)

anyway, I am getting Bowersox album no question...I will avoid Lee Dwyze no question.

but i mean, hey, grats to Lee you one the same American Idol that sees fans try to get rid of big mike ASAP TWICE and at the same time the talentless hack winds up in the top 3 because a judge thinks hes hot

hell i was more surprised that they didnt just vote off bowersox immediately and leave the teeny bopper idols lee and casey in the finals...and hell i wouldnt be confident that lee would have beaten Casey given the fanbase

dont get me wrong, lee has some talent i guess, but he aint got that soul and i think he benefitted from favorable song assignments

I'm hoping maybe it will be like a few years ago...I thought Cook had no chance to win and then he did and it was a good surprise.

Seriously though, which all the talent in this season, Lee winning is fucking pathetic. Now that Simon is gone, I'm not bothering with this show anymore.

Everyone knows Crystal is going to have the actual career though. Lee isn't Daughtry, he's not going to be fronting a band any time soon.

This is retarded as hell. Casey was the best guitarist the show has ever had. Plus, for someone who likes soulful voices, how could you not sort-of like his? Dude was a Bob Seger replica.

Happy Lee won, and happy Crystal gets to do her own stuff on her album -- her original stuff sounded great the little I've heard.

The best "vocal" talent never wins. Every fan of AI saw this coming a mile away.

Bowersox's album will outsell Dewyze's. Same thing happened for Adam Lambert from last season, same thing for Daughtry, same thing happened for Clay.

Probably a good thing for Crystal that she didn't win. She's not stuck in a never ending contract with American Idol.
