im fuckin pumped about next season there cant possibly be a reason to start Delhomme
2/9/2010 4:49:29 PM
Umm.....no one can pull off a Bojangles commercial quite as good as Jake 'the Snake' Delhomme.I hope Peppers signs with some team like Oakland and where he can take plays off and no one will even care anymore.[Edited on February 9, 2010 at 6:55 PM. Reason : CATSUP]
2/9/2010 6:54:17 PM
so fenway....and no one cares about your opinion

N00B FIGHT!!1
2/9/2010 8:07:41 PM
^its going to get epic
2/9/2010 8:09:10 PM
NOOB FIGHT'S GETTIN' HARD CORE BOYS. FOR REEEEALZ. Seriously though, Peppers can go fuck himself. We don't need any Tarhole players on the field anymore. Use that 20 million to fix other areas.
2/9/2010 9:15:34 PM
does anyone know the top 'peppers replacement' DEs we would be in the market for? Im sure we can sign a WR2 with that much extra $$ as well.
2/9/2010 9:17:13 PM
Seymour?
2/9/2010 9:18:40 PM
I wouldn't mind Osi Umenyiora]

^Again, if there is no cap, that won't be an issue.
2/10/2010 8:56:34 AM
There is an ESPN insider article on the front page that reads "Browns, Eagles linked to Peppers"Anybody got insider that would care to post said article?
2/10/2010 10:48:29 AM
2/10/2010 10:50:41 AM
Thanks SlaveIt would be worst case scenario for the Panthers if Peppers ends up in the NFC South. I'd much rather ship him to Cleveland or somewhere else in the AFC so we don't have see him on the regular. How feasible is a straight up Brandon Marshall for Peppers trade? Peppers would be a beast opposite Dumervil and Marshall/Smitty would become the most formidable WR tandem in the NFL. Couple that with our run game and that offense would be nearly unstoppable in theory.
2/10/2010 11:02:26 AM
I'd do it, but Matt Moore has to put together more than 3 good games before I'd label our offense "unstoppable." (although adding Marshall would tremendously help that). And holy shit, I'd feel bad for any QB trying to pass on Denver next season.
2/10/2010 11:17:32 AM
he actually put together 5 good games, going 4-1 with 8 TDs and only 1 pick. that right there tells me he's both aggressive and can protect the ball
2/10/2010 11:22:13 AM
Hardly ever see trades like that in the NFL. Not that they can't happen, but something about the cap and the way contracts are structured make them nearly impossible. That would be best case scenario for that to happen IMO. I have a feeling that we are gonna hold out for something unreasonable for too long and then make a last minute draft trade for some low level picks.
2/10/2010 11:25:17 AM
2/10/2010 11:30:46 AM
I'd like to trade him to Arizona for Boldin and a draft pick
2/10/2010 12:21:48 PM
Boldin & a Draft pick would be NiceMarshall straight up would be NiceI just don't want to miss an opportunity to make a move with Peppers and see him literally walk with nothing in return. And hell yeah, we def need him out of the NFC South... III
2/10/2010 12:55:23 PM
probably not the Saints....read below....or any other good team....no salary cap, these are the rules....have fun Peppers!
2/10/2010 3:17:51 PM
i am slowly accepting the fact that we are not going to receive anything for him, and he'll go land a mega buck contract with some other team, just like albert haynesworth.it happens.o well.the hell with that jackass.
2/10/2010 3:59:17 PM
2/10/2010 4:58:51 PM
^^ at this point im just ecstatic of opening up the cap spacebut i guess that really doesn't matter too much this upcoming season
2/10/2010 5:00:26 PM
^^ nowlb420 has proven that he doesn't know much about anything
2/10/2010 5:08:16 PM
I made a trade in my Madden franchise last yearPanthers send: Julius Peppers, Jake Delhomme, 1st round pickChargers send: Shawn Merrimann, Philip RiversBut I also traded Jonathan Stewart and Jeff King for Mario Williams so yeah whatever]
2/10/2010 5:17:57 PM
I dont understand why/how our front office couldn't make sure they strategize to get something from losing peppers. fanbase is already so low on them, that would murder them.
2/10/2010 7:29:28 PM
While I'd love to get a great player for Pep, or at least some draft picks, letting him walk would at least open up a shit ton of salary cap spaceWe could afford 2-3 more very good players if he walks
2/10/2010 7:41:52 PM
2/11/2010 2:25:02 PM
2/11/2010 2:37:07 PM
theres a good chance that the players union and owners structure a new CBA before next season startsits possible the cap will be less next year than it was this past season]
2/11/2010 2:37:49 PM
lol How many times is TreeTwista going to bring up that Madden trade?
2/11/2010 2:48:42 PM
2/11/2010 2:50:04 PM
^^any time a Panthers/Chargers trade is rumored
2/11/2010 3:05:26 PM
lol front page of NFC South blog on ESPN has talk about McNabb coming to Carolinait'd be sick but i'm not getting my hopes up
2/15/2010 9:42:29 PM
Mehhh ... doesn't excite me too much. McNabb is good and all, but I just have a hard time seeing him on the Panthers. I'd rather draft a rookie like Dan Lefevour in the 2nd-3rd and see what we have in Moore. Maybe it's just me though.
2/15/2010 10:06:27 PM
Fuck thatSign McNabb AND draft LefevourIf nothing else happens, that position has to be taken care of this offseason.
2/15/2010 10:25:29 PM
if we're going to draft someone at qb, i dont know if the panthers can justify giving up draft picks or whatever for mcnabb while we have moore around who has proven to be servicable. we already don't have a 1st and whatever we gave up for tank.[Edited on February 15, 2010 at 10:34 PM. Reason : definitely agree with drafting dan lefevour]
2/15/2010 10:34:15 PM
We do have an unsettled commodity in Julius Peppers that the Eagles might be willing to trade for McNabb. We might actually be able to pick up him AND a pick from the Eagles for Pep.
2/16/2010 10:24:28 AM
If you trade for McNabb, you aren't drafting a QB in the 2nd-3rd rounds (especially when you don't have a first rounder). If they get McNabb (or Kolb, who I think would be a better pickup), they'd be better off using those higher picks to address more immediate needs while drafting a guy like Matt Nichols in a later round, someone a little more raw who will need a few years anyways (behind your new starter and Moore, who is clearly, at worst, a serviceable backup)
2/16/2010 1:00:55 PM
All that makes sense, except for that Philly would never part with KolbHe's been handpicked and groomed to be the future for that franchise by Andy Reid
2/16/2010 1:07:16 PM
I know McNabb is proven, but why do you want to invest so much in a 33.5 year old QB? i mean yeah it worked out kind of in Minnesota this year, but its not a long term solution
2/16/2010 1:08:45 PM
2/16/2010 1:10:19 PM
bring back Stefon LeFors. savior.
2/16/2010 4:16:23 PM
There is an insider article on espn about the Patriots being the favorites for Peppers. Can someone post it?
2/16/2010 4:30:36 PM
Moore is gonna be an restricted FA this off season. I've been hearing that some other teams are interested in him and the panthers might have to pay him some relatively big money to keep him around....I hope they do, but I could see them doing some dumb shit and not matching an offer from another team.
2/16/2010 4:31:24 PM
2/16/2010 6:12:21 PM
John Clayton about to talk about Delhomme"it looks like Jake Delhomme still might be back"[Edited on February 16, 2010 at 6:17 PM. Reason : oh lawd]
