pretty decent small stage acts

pretty weak headliners, imo

got a group and we're discussing it.

my main qualm is that, the bands i'd want to see, either i've seen a time or 6 before, or could see for $15 or less in a local show.

More acts to come as they draw closer to Summer / Fall. If last year's line up is any indication of who they are gonna try and bring, it should be amazing and I totally wanna go.

Fucking Boredoms with Boardrum and the Melvins... yes please.

that ATP lineup looks pretty sweet.

$250 for a weekend ticket is pretty steep though. not to mention finding somewhere to stay for the weekend.

well that's probably half of bonnaroo right there too. GWAR has also reportedly been confirmed for bonnaroo by one of the members of the band.

Fucking GORILLAZ are playing Coachella. After watching their Demon Days show on TV, I've always told myself that if I ever got the chance to see them live, I'd do it. I think they've only performed a few times. Lets see if I can save up enough $$$ for this...

There have always been arguments as to whether or not they've really played at their gigs.

They put up a big screen and project images of the cartoon characters playing the songs on to it from the front. You can see shadows of people moving around behind the screen, but there's never any indication as to whether or not it's actually them.

i thought the screens were only used in the first few years of shows

i was hammered one night and there was a gorillaz show on palladium, intrigued, and thinking the same i watched it

no screen, full string complement, and damon albarn right in the middle of things playing a variety of instruments

not sure how in the heck they'd be a legit headliner for a festival of this magnitude though

probably not. from the rumors, the crossovers include jay-z and avetts.

another smashing pumpkins song was released. too bad it's not an instrumental because the vocals ruin this one too.

hxxp://www.mediafire.com/?z4hmitzzxmn - Album Leaf

hxxp://www.mediafire.com/?5yzz4z2zlzy - Toro Y Moi

Those are the only new albums, off a main aol list, I found interesting and will be listening to soon. I also downloaded the new eels album, but I've never been a big fan. I met my limit on megaupload, it's off a school ip. It wont let me go back to the address I found it it. But if you google .rar (it's a rar file) with megaupload you should find it.

Again, not 2010 music, but I just found The Boxer Rebellion. I blame you, TWW, for not introducing them to me in the 2009 thread.

meh.

other than 2-3 songs, had an ABSOLUTE boy band feel for me. I'm talkin circa 1997-2000 feel.

hey will someone revive a link for the Mercer/Danger Mouse project for me? I'm intrigued, but with expectations that it won't be anything special at all.

The Beach House is solid, as is Real Estate.

I gave the Uninhabitable Mansions a listen today at the recommendation of phishnlou, but I'm going to have to give it another go tomorrow. I kept getting interrupted today, but the first 3 songs were quite enjoyable.

The new Spoon and Midlake have been entertaining for me as well. The Midlake, just like Van Occupanther seemed dull and eventful on the first listen, but it's really grown on me a lot.

teen dream, spencer krug's moonface EP marimba and shit drums, and the besnard lakes are the roaring night have received the most play here so far of the 2010 releases.

not too far behind: local natives gorilla manor and surfer blood astrocoast.

Guess I'm the only person not terribly floored by the new Beach House? Granted I've never been a huge fan, but I just find the record to be pretty boring. No tracks really stand out after three listens, and I didn't feel that there was much there that was original.

I seem to recall my exact words when their last record came out were, "I liked them better when they were called Galaxie 500," but I think these songs are a significant step up.

After reading all the jazz in here about Beach House I got the album.

I kinda feel the same way I did when I heard Post Merriweather Pavilion -- "how the shit do people like this?"

At least MPP has semi-unconventional song structure and weird noises/vocals.

Teen Dream is just a really good dreamy pop record. Now if you don't like Galaxie 500 or Mazzy Star, I could see it not being your thing...what don't you like about it?
