how in the world did this get to three pages?

I, for one, would definitely get a Droid because of this thread if I could get a new phone.

do any of the three models offer a girly diamond/gold/baller version? Imagine a Master P collaberation with the body shop.
12/22/2009 2:13:24 AM
I hope not. But if so, anyone who purchases said model should be beaten with a 2x4.

okay, well in response to the itunes comments...i have an imac. i don't run itunes on a pc, so i guess i just haven't encountered your issues. i've never had any problems with it. the interface is good and makes sense to me. i don't feel the need to move music to anything that's restricted by itunes/apple. i have it on my iphone, my husband has it on his ipod, and we're good. i have nowhere else to put it. although, my old ipod syncs with my imac and my work pc w/o wiping or reformatting or anything. not sure how that happened. if you want to listen to your music from your home computer at work, and it's on your iphone, listen to your iphone. seems very obvious to me. since it is your cell phone, then you're going to have it on you all the time anyway.i haven't used IE in forever. i use firefox. chrome was neat but the scrolling was weird. i will try out the chrome os as soon as i can get my hands on it. actually on g4 last night i heard that the dell mini 10 or whatever they call it now has some sort of hack to run it. i have a mini 9 and i'm gonna try when i get my new hard drive for xmas. i haven't looked into it yet though. right now i'm running osx 10.5.4 on it.i'm not all that hooked in, i was just genuinely curious what your problems were with it b/c i've never had an issue.

Lets simplyBlackberrys are for when your work is paying for your phone. or your handling encrypted documents. If you are getting it so you have a "Smartphone", your not being smart, there are much better devices out there, that do everying MOST people need better than the blackberry.as far as droid vs iphone.Iphone is smoother, but i think we may see the droid take over in the apps and development department. There are a slew of new android devices coming out. The more market share they pick up, the more apps will be written. There will be alot more junk apps, but there will start to be an increase, simply because the android OS is going to start eating up some of the market. The droid itself, is a heavy bitch, and the built in keyboard sucks. Call quality can be really funny at times (sounds like your in a well)That being said, network is better than att, navigation rules, and there are a ton of positives.I woudlnt buy either of them over the other in some massive margin, i would actually choose by carrier at this point, and coverage.

man for the last timethe droid supports multitouchit's just disabled in the north american versions of the browser and maps
12/22/2009 10:55:33 AM
^so it doesn't have multi-touch? If its disabled, its not available to the end-user.
12/22/2009 10:59:41 AM
let's review our reading comprehension
12/22/2009 11:04:01 AM
yes lets...disabled != enabled. The iPhone has tethering, however, its disabled in the US. Does this mean it has tethering to me and can I use it as a selling point over another phone?[Edited on December 22, 2009 at 11:09 AM. Reason : .]

voice search doesn't support multitouch eitherI MEAN??!?!?!?!??
12/22/2009 11:10:37 AM
cool story, bro
12/22/2009 11:11:45 AM
Until i can mutlitouch on the droid in the browser, where i spend most of my time its not a feature.Im not saying the interface doesnt work, i just think it would work better. No phone is going to be best in EVERY SINGLE THING.The droid has replacable batteries, and sd cards, so i can carry around alot more music ectra.
12/22/2009 11:14:22 AM
^can you not read? it HAS multi-touch. /sarcasm
12/22/2009 11:16:46 AM
so install dolphinnot hard
12/22/2009 11:20:14 AM
Enabling tethering on the iPhone used to be as easy as going to a website and pressing a button
12/22/2009 11:41:58 AM
wth is dolfin
12/22/2009 11:43:20 AM
^^true, but that still doesn't qualify tethering as a selling point for the iphone in the US.[Edited on December 22, 2009 at 11:44 AM. Reason : ^]

12/22/2009 11:45:12 AM
^^ Oh, I know. I'm just bitching/moping.Though I haven't updated the firmware on my iPhone since then, so I'm still locked and loaded.
12/22/2009 11:46:16 AM
Dolpin is a browser for Android that supports multitouch (proving the point that the multitouch APIs are available, just not in OEM apps yet)Also, android supports tethering. I use it all the time when my work-provided sprint pc card doesnt have service and verizon does
12/22/2009 3:27:38 PM
BIS down again. lol. blackberry can kiss my ass in 2010
12/22/2009 4:49:04 PM
Seems odd that you would name your multi-touch capable browser after an animal with no fingers.Putting that in the "reason to not own a Droid" column.
12/22/2009 5:24:53 PM
Prehensile penis.
12/22/2009 5:28:29 PM
^^very astute observation...i too will put that in the 'reasons to not own a Droid' column.
12/22/2009 6:09:57 PM
Dolphin is a 3rd party app
12/23/2009 3:35:20 PM
root your droid = multitouch and tethering. suck it.
12/23/2009 6:29:32 PM
PDANet = tethering without rooting
12/23/2009 6:32:19 PM
"and"
12/23/2009 6:33:16 PM
you don't need to root to get multi-touch, just an app that uses it like Picsay and the Dolphin browser . And PDAnet lets you tether without rooting also. Now wireless tethering needs root.

I'm playing NES games on my iphone with a wiimote. I need to pick up the AV cable so i can hook it up to a tv and have a snes/nes/gba/ps1/n64 etc emulator on my iphone.
12/23/2009 7:55:06 PM
What is the easiest music management system for the droid? My dad is getting one for Christmas so it needs to be really, really easy to use.
12/23/2009 8:10:35 PM
Is Drag & Drop too hard? IMO, that's by far the easiest.
12/24/2009 3:02:08 PM
I was hoping for something that would let him purchase music too. So that all he would have to do is click on the songs he wants, it would download them, and auto load them to the droid.
12/24/2009 8:56:41 PM
iTunes, duh. Making that shit simple for old people everyone is its strength.
12/24/2009 10:35:08 PM
^^Purchase music. hahaha thats pretty funny.
12/25/2009 2:05:12 AM
Does Android have its own sync/music transfer software? i assume so. how ugly/clunky is it?
12/25/2009 10:37:21 AM
