wasted 7.50 to see this shit. I usually scare pretty easy but I only jumped at the end. overall waste of time and money. I will never get that 1 hour and 39 mins back.

Not impressed at all.Slightly better than Blair Witch...and I thought Blair Witch was horrible. Went with 5 other people, 4 of them girls...and not one thought it was that scary.

demons and things i can't see (but can hear/sense) are scary to me, so this movie did scare me. i think it would have been better to watch alone at home, though - that really would have fucked with my head. i was sitting next to talky mctalkerson so i kept getting distracted. however, i totally agree with this

***ORIGINAL ENDING SPOILERS***I watched it alone in my room with all the lights out one night last week courtesy of justintv. It appeared to be the original ending with the cops and a lot of stuff happening off screen. Kind of a lame ending in my opinion that was very similar to Blair Witch. I didn't find the movie any different from watching something like Ghost Hunters. The only parts that kind of creeped me out were when the girl would get up and stare at her boyfriend for hours. I may netflix it when it comes out just to see the theatrical ending, which I hear is better.***END SPOILERS***

I think the ending where she looks at the camera and slits her throat would have freaked me out. Theatrical ending made the movie ~ 7.5/10 and the DVD Screener's is like 5.5/10.

Wait 7 years -> borrow old style hand held camera -> find normal yet potentially creepy setting -> hire 2 looking for work actors, one douche guy and a girl who can cry/snot up on que -> film 1.5 hours of footage where nothing actually happens except vague random shadows and creepy noises at night -> scene with girl crying uncontrollably -> make last scene where camera gets knocked to the ground on its side but is still pointing at the direction of the actors/whatever caused it to fall -> $profit

yall are just seeing this now? the hype killed it, sorry. plus, im sure most of you already knew what the whole hoopla was all about even before going in. so yeah, you are prolly not gonna be scared.

Saw it the Friday night before Halloween. Big mistake. The theater was overrun with little shithead high school kids who would yell out shit during the scary parts. They'd scream, then laugh their ass off for screaming, and then see who could scream the loudest the next scary part. This movie had potential to be scary, but the audience ruined it. If you haven't seen it, hold off til it's out on video or go when no one will be there.

how far in until something actually happens? 20 mins in & the most interesting thing to happen is the psychic running late[Edited on November 3, 2009 at 10:11 PM. Reason : 20]

you may have better luck with transformers if you're looking for something to jump out of the closetlets just cut our losses and confirm these types of movies arent for you

^I actually love these types of movies. I was forced to watch (and loved) all of the old Omen and Exorcist movies, Rosemary's Baby, etc, as a kid. I definitely prefer those types of horror films over slasher flicks (although I do enjoy a good slasher flick that is done well).I understand the premise and what they were doing...but the bottom line is that it's still a horror movie and you have to have a little more going on. I was in "halloween-mode" and wanted to be freaked out...and I wasn't even close to being freaked out.

it had its moments, but definitely not the scariest thing I've seen. But looking back on all of the horror movies I've seen (and I've seen many), nothing really seems to scare anymore. I can't really think back to the scariest movie I've ever seen. Maybe "IT" but that was only because I was younger. I guess the freakiest movie on record for me goes to "Event Horizon."

^ Try watching The Mist by Stephen King. Also, The Strangers was pretty high up on the creepiness level.
1/6/2010 9:26:20 PM
I thought both of those were pretty lame actually.Especially The Strangers... that shit was just comical, we walked out laughing that we actually sat through the whole movie
1/6/2010 9:37:48 PM
i liked the mist, but not in a "this is scary" way, more like "this is an interesting look at how people may react when trapped" kind of way
1/6/2010 9:49:46 PM
^ I appreciated the "Lord of the Flies" aspect too, but it was still kind of meh...
1/6/2010 9:54:45 PM
i want to rent this and watch it at home with the lights off. think it may be kinda creepy...i thought strangers was really scary actually...watched it home at night with the lights off as well and it was definitely eery

My main thing that I laughed at the entire time is how they portrayed the stangers as fucking ninjas[Edited on January 6, 2010 at 9:59 PM. Reason : i]

They basically took The Blair Witch Project and put it in a house, then made it suck even more than TBWP which is pretty hard to do. I can't believe people either like this movie and are scared by it.Its neither original or scary.I am so glad I downloaded it instead of paying to see it. It might have been the first movie I have ever walked out of.

I just shit my pants at the last scene.
