a) it's 480p, not 420pb) we're not talking about the difference between 720p & 1080p, we're talking about the difference between 480p & 1080p, which you must be BLIND! if you cannot tell a difference. SERIOUSLY. if you can't tell the difference between 480p & 1080p, go back to a standard definition TV because HDTV isn't doing you any good, other than being thin and saving you a bit of power. i'm not talking about me here, i'm talking about the general public being blind. i think that IF they notice, they at best probably just don't care... i do agree that they probably don't KNOW any better, but that's NOT to say they wouldn't be able to SEE the difference.consider this, as of May, Nintendo said they had an estimated 1 million people that "participated" in the streaming Netflix app on the Wii and there are 74 million Wii's sold worldwide, 36 million or so (as of June) in the US, so that's like 1.3% if you count all the Wii's, 3% if you only count U.S which Netflix only streams to. And that's only IF all of those 1,000,000 discs were used in the Wii. I can tell you I own one and don't use it.... i just made 2% up, but I think it's pretty darn close.with a lot of Wii owners also owning an Xbox and/or PS3, I don't think those numbers are going to go up very much, particularly with Netflix being integrated into standalone Blu-ray/DVD players and HDTV's now.divX rips don't have a standard, the poor saps who pirate movies have epic failed at what 720p & 1080p mean.... i've seen so many movies labeled as 720p and they were 720x480 dvd standard resolution = 480p (720x480) ... and they can't even get that right, most divX rips end up being 352x240 or something terrible[Edited on September 29, 2010 at 12:31 AM. I wonder if you are completely missing my point or purposely ignoring it for the sake of being argumentative. Either way I still think you are grossly underestimating the amount of people that actually don't give two shits about HD content.

No, I'm not missing the point, I'm just saying it's not relevant to the discussion, we're not the general public. And while people may not know the difference or don't care, they should be able to see the difference.
