From what I gathered, him with the sign actually occurs at the game in the HIMYM universe

i.e., the character Barney went to the game and got on TV with that sign

So this ep is about the fallout from that happening

Not that this is any huge surprise, but I read on NPH's twitter that CBS officially picked up a full season 6. Good for them. I remember sweating it out after Season 2 before CBS picked it up but since then it's been smooth sailing.

I've been lucky in terms of my regular TV. All my favorite TV shows have been very successful and have had 5 or more seasons (Seinfeld, Scrubs, HIMYM, Office, 30 Rock -- as of next year). And even though each dropped off a bit in terms of story/funny in the later seasons, IMO they are still all better than anything else out there and still worth my time -- except of course the "new" Scrubs but that doesn't count anyway.

Yeah, it's officially dead now I'm pretty sure. Thank God.

I watched the first few just because I figured I had to, but it was not funny at all to me and the new main character was just annoying.

I actually think the last three or four episodes of HIMYM has been one of the funnier four episode stretches in the series... which is crazy for a Season 5.

And I never paid attention to it, but the laugh track has annoyed me recently. Don't know why. Did they make it louder or something?

** I'm going to hold off on grading the latest episode until I get Jeepin4x4's opinion of it of course.

i didn't like it

why would ted try to get an arranged marriage? that goes against everything he has been doing up to this point. i wouldn't have a problem with it if it wasn't so sudden and the story was not so sloppy.

the duck / rabbit thing was not funny in the first place and got drug out

best part of the show was that girl who needed a visa and return of naked man

I'm watching TV in the background while I do some work and I hate myself because Fox News is interviewing a Major and every time they say his name (Major Barrett) I can't get out my head Robin and Ted's stupid "Major...." salute thing. Damn it!

So have people just lost interest in this show? I know it's probably running it's course like every other show in history (nearly) that has lasted more than 3 or 4 seasons but I still laugh a lot. Season finale was kind of blah compared to the first three seasons...

At some point, if it keeps getting ratings, they will have to introduce the Mom in to the group instead of putting it off and off and off... Sure the show name is about "meeting her" but they can't keep this up forever.
