imo they should have just included tomorrow never knows and not the remixit's not a real beatles song so it doesn't belong therebut that's just my opinionthe remix is still good

It's not a real Beatles song--it's TWO real Beatles songs!I just thought it was cool the way they mixed things together, and the backwards "Gnik Nus" thing, and just the innovation that went into creating a new piece for the Cirque show using only what was already there.
1/2/2010 8:27:48 PM
you are right, it is innovative stuff, and I also like it or do I???
1/2/2010 8:29:44 PM
You said you did! No backsies!Helter Skelter is hard as fuck on Beatles Rock Band. I can totally see how that song would have inspired an imaginary racial apocalypse.
1/2/2010 8:33:19 PM
fun fact about Helter Skelter on Beatles Rock Band: the only song in the game I have not gold starred on vocalsand I probably never will unless I have 3 singersthere's too much bullshit that shouldn't have been notated

Thumping along doesn't have anything to do with forearm strength--that comes in when you have a fast series of notes for which you have to be constantly pressing the top buttons and, since your non-dominant hand is the one that presses the top buttons, most people struggle with that. Either way, the drum and vocal parts ARE hard![Edited on January 2, 2010 at 9:04 PM. Reason : why am I justifying this, it's a video game]
1/2/2010 9:02:45 PM
I'm talking about thumping on an actual bass. ]
1/2/2010 9:12:25 PM
OH...well, that makes a lot more sense. That's a different story--there are a lot of songs that are harder on Guitar Hero/Rock Band than they are to play in real life. And it's frustrating for people who play for real to see the inconsistencies with the game.[Edited on January 2, 2010 at 9:15 PM. Reason : ]
1/2/2010 9:14:13 PM
^ Which is completely ridiculous. Just learn to play the goddamned song for real.I'm not hating on those who play the game (my roommate and I wore out GH/GH2), but when the game becomes harder than real life, why not switch to something that can lead to creativity? ]
1/2/2010 9:14:48 PM
anyone can play guitar and they won't be a nothing anymore
1/2/2010 9:16:39 PM
I feel you. There are far more benefits to playing a real instrument than playing Rock Band; however, if the latter draws people to the former, there's some benefit. Unfortunately I think people are more apt to spend $150 on a video game setup than on a cheap guitar.

I think you're right about Lennon--toward the end I think he was sometimes looking to piss off Paul just because. The weird part is that John went into making one of the later albums (I don't remember whether it was Let It Be or Abbey Road; I think it was Abbey Road) wanting it to be just the music with no production over it, and then ended up wanting it done over and over to get a perfect take, and then adding production afterward anyway. I think John Lennon was an amazing musician, but I can see how he would have been very difficult to deal with. There's a great piece about the Beatles' breakup in Rolling Stone from a couple of months ago.[Edited on January 2, 2010 at 9:47 PM. it's just my opinionbut I don't think there will ever be a band to match The Beatlespeople say they brought music in the direction it should goI disagreepop music has gone downhill ever since they broke up
1/9/2010 2:16:41 AM
I like the Beatles, but they are not that great
1/9/2010 2:36:13 AM
1/9/2010 2:37:07 AM
Help! is a fucking great album
1/14/2010 12:40:19 AM
^ Agreed. I think it was the very beginning in an evolution of what we know remember as The Beatles.
1/14/2010 1:53:05 AM
help is a great album, but ive always considered rubber soul to be the beginning of that evolution
1/14/2010 1:56:05 AM
I'm gonna disagree and say that Please Please Me in itself was pretty fucking revolutionary sonsrecorded in one daytwist and shout done in one takesome good stuff on that albumshows how masterful they are at an early stage
1/14/2010 1:59:32 AM
hahaha, ya well i think the album john and paul wrote when they were teenagers in liverpool was pretty much the best beatles album ever, i think it was called "Best Beatles Album Ever!"
1/14/2010 2:02:46 AM
yeah?well remember that album they made when they were in elementary school?something about love by numbersthat was the shit
1/14/2010 2:04:36 AM
i think that was a mix tape, that shit was pretty dope
1/14/2010 2:07:36 AM
no but I was serious with please please methey pretty much made their mark right from the start after getting signed to EMI or whoever it was (my facts are hazy)Beatles for Sale was kind of a flop, but it was still pretty good imoI dunno, just opinions
1/14/2010 2:09:36 AM
I would just like to add that Help! is a great movie as well and was my favorite when I was little. For the longest, I wanted a sunken bed like Ringo had in the living room of their flat.Nothing to do with the music, but in my opinion the Beatles' movies had more artistic merit (as comedy) than Elvis's movies, which did nothing to advance a previously promising career. Elvis was poorly managed.
1/14/2010 10:03:20 PM
I have never seen any of the Beatles movies

A Hard Day's Night is one of the best British comedies ever made. The rest of the movies are fun but not nearly as good.
1/28/2010 3:06:24 AM
baby's good to me, you know
1/31/2010 9:13:36 PM
My favorite thing about A Hard Day's Night is the constant reference to Paul's grandfather as "a clean old man."
1/31/2010 9:15:37 PM
ok I really have to see the Beatles movies thenI feel like I'm missing out

favorite songs by each Beatle everyone?and in Ringo or George's case, it can be if they sung lead on itJohn: Because/Rain (I can't choose between those two, but if I had to keep one, it would be Because)Paul: Getting BetterGeorge: You Like Me Too Much (Here Comes the Sun is so close to 2nd it might as well be tied, though)Ringo: With a Little Help From My Friends
