What a clusterfuck. I feel bad for Zorn, they just announced that he's not going to be fired, but damn, he was put into a losing situation and never stood a chance. It's hard being a Redskins fan.

campbell is not bad. the offense isn't much worse than they were during the later gibbs years; it's just that back then the scores were padded by turnovers and scores by defensive and special teams.

but ceratto had to fire greg williams because otherwise the saints wouldn't have a shot at the superbowl?

[Edited on October 23, 2009 at 10:55 AM. Reason : ps: oline not much worse = still pretty terrible]

Dont blame Samuels at all... Why risk permanent injury on a team thats going nowhere fast. If youre going to fire Zorn at the end of the season then go ahead and do it now to get a head start on all the big coaches out there. Put Blache or someone in as interim coach.

From an outsiders view it seems like it would be harder to pull for this team than it would NC State.

Sucks for you guys that you have an owner with a ton of money and doesn't know shit.

^ yeah basically weekends are a cavalcade of fail

kind of like "you got served" except with shitty football

oct 10: state loses to duke, leans back, folds arms, stares at redskins

oct 11: skins blow lead against 0-4 carolina, leans back, folds arms, stares at state

oct 17: state befuddled that opponents attempt rare "forward pass," gets blown out at bc, leans back, folds arms, stares at redskins

oct 18: skins lose at home to 0-5 kansas city, leans back, folds arms, stares at state

oct 24: state has a bye week yet somehow loses a running back for the season, leans back, folds arms, stares at redskins

oct 26: skins are a turnover machine, eagles play like crap, skins outcrap them, leans back, folds arms, stares at state some more

AND NOW STATE HAS TWO GAMES IN A ROW. CAN NOT WAIT.

rumor is cooley is out for the season as well

Thomas Boswell pretty much nailed it in the Post last month.

Quote :
"Many of us learned long ago that you have to separate owners from the athletes and coaches they control, or you're going to have a mighty short list of teams you can pull for. Our loyalties go back so far, and run so deep, we hardly remember their origins. When I got married, my wife said, "Your Redskin trash can has to go."

This is the kind of unconscious affection that bad owners prey upon. To them, we're better than mere customers. We're their marks, their suckers, branded from childhood with the team logo. And the worst of them exploit it shamelessly, though they had nothing to do with the creation of that loyalty.

Where do these bad owners come from? All theories welcomed. One of mine is that bad owners, though vastly rich, buy a team because they lack something. They buy it to fill a personal vacuum. They don't have enough attention, praise, power, social status -- some damn thing. So, no matter what they say, they never really see the franchise as a quasi-public trust, as something shared and husbanded. It's about them, their needs.

In business or in sports, dysfunction takes a thousand forms. But it usually starts at the top then leaches down, corrosively into the core product. Money can, to a degree, hide the problem. But every organizational fix is temporary because the flaw runs to the core. And you never know where it will show up next -- in an unnecessary offseason quarterback controversy or in ticket brokers helping Steelers fans kidnap FedEx field. It could even end up as a front-page picture of a weeping old lady, going broke, who sits, surrounded by Redskin memorabilia, as the team tries to collect $66,364 from her for tickets she won't even get to use.

There's only one certainty. As long as bad ownership stays in place, nothing important changes. In Washington, that has been the lesson of the last 100 years.

The good thing about this game is its not at the Superdome, so they have a better chance against the Saints.

Landry should be ejected. Had his arm around the official. Steve Smith got ejected during a panthers game for the exact same thing.
