I would say the biggest thing Favre brings to the fantasy table, is even MORE value for AP and Chester Taylor. Teams really can't load the box with Favre back there. Berrian is back to being a solid pick and Shiancoe goes from sleeper to solid TE pick.
8/18/2009 12:13:46 PM
If Berrian can get 7 and 900 with who they had throwing last year, he should move closer to 10 and 1200
8/18/2009 12:16:35 PM
Thanks for the advice Panthro. I can only keep either Brown or Thomas though...which would you keep in a regualr scoring format? What about PPR?It seems like Ronnie Brown is ranked higher than he should be. He had a good year last year, but lots of that was in 1 game and a lot of his success seems gimicky. Pierre Thomas is solid, but Reggie Bush is an X factor is healthy.I also have Reggie Bush and could keep him over Brown/Thomas if we switch to PPR.
8/18/2009 1:09:31 PM
We finished the vet draft(25 rounds) and I fear I am hit at RB(no PPR, dynasty, 10 man league, D/ST):BarberBushLarry JohnsonJamaal CharlesPeyton Hilis,Earnest GrahamI think I have 2 or 3 solid RB2s but no solid RB1.Who can I draft in the Rookie Draft to get that solid RB1(first pick):Donald Brown or Knowshon Moreno(that RB depth chart is DEEP).Or any sleeper RBs that could start the season and be solid RB1(Greene, McCoy, Wells)
8/18/2009 3:00:14 PM
Stafford or Sanchez?in a dynasty league, which would you pick up first?
8/18/2009 4:18:27 PM
Stafford. He has c. johnson....If he doesn't totally suck it up, he's likely to be throwing to a top 5 receiver for much of his career.^^I'd go McCoy....he's RB 2 behind what's increasingly becoming a RB made of glass.[Edited on August 18, 2009 at 4:33 PM. Reason : .]
8/18/2009 4:31:53 PM
I have the 12th and 13th picks in my draft. The top RBs will be gone by then. What's everyone's thoughts about possibly taking Brady and Moss back to back if they are still there?
8/18/2009 5:08:59 PM
How many points per reception does your league award? I forgot what we have used in the past.I'm thinking 1 point would be appropriate for a 12-14 team league
8/19/2009 9:08:22 AM
^^ Moss sounds good but you would be reaching with Brady IMO. There is injury concern there as well as other QBs that would be rated higher like Breeslook for a solid RB or another elite receiver at that spot:SlatonC. JohnsonA. JohnsonJacobsGore
8/19/2009 10:05:41 AM
anyone got advice for me? We're selecting keepers today...
8/19/2009 10:18:42 AM
Forte
8/19/2009 10:30:42 AM
In the PPR I'd take Bush over Thomas, but in a standard league I'd def. keep Thomas. Thomas is their redzone back so he'll get the majority of the TDs.Brown is a question mark. Aside from one big game last year he really didn't have a great season and in large part because he was sharing time with R. Williams. I read that Brown would assume a bigger share of the carries but who knows how much more production that will lead to. I'd say PPR - Bush, Standard - Thomas.
8/19/2009 10:33:11 AM
^^Umm, if that was directed at me, I don't have that option.
8/19/2009 10:33:19 AM
that one is pretty close....I would say Thomas just due to the number of red zone opportunities he will have over the season as well as the fact he wont be sharing as many carries this year. I agree that a huge chunk of Brown's points came in that NE game last year and thus inflated his overall value.
8/19/2009 10:38:34 AM
Well, I got the third pick in our non-ppr draft. Looks like I have to choose between MJD or Forte.
8/19/2009 1:11:31 PM
If it's non-PPR then I'd definitely go Forte.I have the 3rd pick in my league but it's a keeper league(some random keepers including Brady and Moss). So I really need to sit down and make my rankings prior to the draft.Just curious, but what is everyone general consensus on Westbrook? He's back to practicing at full speed and when healthy(or semi-healthy) he can be a fantasy workhorse, but they have McCoy and now Vick. Just curious where he's sliding on most people's boards this year.
8/19/2009 1:24:01 PM
how did I do? 1st draft of the year for me... 1 of my 2 money league teams.12 teams, 10th pickQB - M. RyanRB - GoreRB - Kevin SmithWR - R. MossWR - Santana MossWR - T. What are you guys' thoughts on Ahmad Bradshaw this season?
8/19/2009 5:11:16 PM
^^ I've got the 3rd pick in one of my drafts this year and I had considered Westbrook but now that I've gotten to think about it a while I think I'm going to stay away. He pretty much is guaranteed to get injured sometime during this year. I'm leaning more towards Forte, Turner, or AP, whichever one is there. (I'm not a MJD fan either)
8/19/2009 5:55:33 PM
8/20/2009 12:30:47 AM
I had a great draftQB - BreesRB - PetersonRB - SlatonTE - GatesWR - S. SmithWR - OchocincoWR - VincentK - J. Kasay D - PittEli Manning as my backup QB along with McFadden as my RB and Carolina as a backup D. my damn connection broke before I got my last couple of picks in nobody worth mentioning8 player league with family/friends but they're getting slayed. I had the number 2 pick first round
8/20/2009 3:36:40 AM
I can keep 4 from last year's team:Brees, Drew QB NO McFadden, Darren RB OAK Thomas, Pierre RB NO Cotchery, Jerricho WR NYJHolmes, Santonio WR PITJohnson, Calvin WR DET Longwell, Ryan K MINBuccaneers DST Quinn, Brady QB CLE Fargas, Justin RB OAK Hightower, Tim RB ARI McAllister, Deuce RB NOHixon, Domenik WR NYGBills DST Heavy lean towards Brees, Johnson, Thomas, and McFadden. The Steelers homer in me really wants to keep Holmes, but the 4 I listed are probably the way to go. I don't want McFadden to end up being a stud and know I let him go. That happened to me last year with Turner.
8/20/2009 8:35:12 AM
I have 6 WRs and no K b/c my CPU decided to freeze up during my draft. Who should I drop to put a K on my team?Hines WardBernard BerrianJerricho CotcheryTorry HoltKevin CurtisMushin MuhammadHakeem Nicks
8/20/2009 6:56:58 PM
anybody else skeptical of michael turner's top-3 value this year? he had a lot of carries last year and i think ryan is going to have a pseudo sophomore slump
8/20/2009 6:58:11 PM
I just got a trade offer:I'd Get: Jay Cutler, Braylon Edwards, and Mason CrosbyI'd Lose: Tony Romo and Hakeem NicksYea or Nay?

8/20/2009 7:11:54 PM
Any opinions on my roster....this is the first time I have ever played ff and I am in a 2 qb leagueQB's - Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco (backup)RB's - Clinton Portis, Chris Johnson, Ronnie Brown (backup)WR's - Santana Moss, Calvin Johnson, Donald Driver (backup)TE - Tony Gonzalez, Jeremy Shockey (backup)K - Jeff ReidDef - Baltimore

8/20/2009 8:17:20 PM
^^I was satisfied with my team, glad to see others like it. I've won the last 2 years with less than what I have, so I'm hoping for the 3-peat. I grabbed McNabb in round 4, which was a round earlier than I wanted to, but some of my target QBs were already off the board (some fool took Matt Ryan in round 2, haha). I actually got Marshawn Lynch in round 8, which I thought was ridiculous. There were many odd things in our draft, such as one guy taking Kurt Warner in the 1st round (11th) and the Steelers D in round 3. Another guy took 2 QBs in the first 4 rounds, and drafted 2 kickers. Each team in our league seems to have a glaring weakness at one spot or another, but I feel good about my team.
8/21/2009 12:54:17 AM
How do you guys think the Favre acquisition affects Peterson? Good? Bad? I ask because I've got the first pick in my draft and am mulling over AP and Turner.
8/21/2009 1:30:18 AM
^AP all day. Favre helps no doubt even though he's not that good anymore he will spread the defense and Berrian and Rice can go deep. Teams won't be stacking the line for AP now.
8/21/2009 1:54:40 AM
btw in the league i posted my roster for, td's are 6 (even passing) and it's 1 point per 25 rush/receiving yards, 1 point per 50 passing, and it's not PPR.
8/21/2009 8:03:03 AM
^^maclin isnt going to start over curtis...at least not going into the season, he might overtake him at some point during the year, but for now it looks like most of maclins touches will come on special teams
8/21/2009 8:12:53 AM
Eh I still don't like any Eagles WR outside of Jackson. Curtis came back last year and didn't do much. You know how McNabb spreads it around so much.
8/21/2009 1:29:48 PM
The Eagles have 3 WRs that are basically the same "type" of WR. They're all under-sized speed guys, so I'm curious how that offense will look. I really wanted them to get a prototypical big possession guy to complement Curtis and Jackson, but I thought they got a great pick when Maclin slid to them(aside from his fumble on the kick return last night). My draft is next weekend, think I'll sit down and make my player rankings this weekend, so I might be posting some questions for y'all to chime in on next week.
8/21/2009 1:37:06 PM
I made my rankings last weekend and will probably tweak them some tonight since my first $ league draft is tomorrowand yeah, the eagles have so many mediocre big receivers its crazy - Baskett, Reggie Brown , Avant. Their receiving corps is very similar to the Redskins for the past couple of years
8/21/2009 2:30:36 PM
Donald Brown thoughts?
8/21/2009 4:35:56 PM
Would you take LT or Brian Westbrook if you had the 4th overall? Or someone else? I'm just leaning towards these two at the moment.
8/21/2009 6:48:31 PM
someone else
8/21/2009 9:00:40 PM
Ended up picking L.T. and handcuffed him with Sproles late in my draft.
8/21/2009 9:16:38 PM
How many points do you guys give per reception? We give 1 right now, but that seems high.A guy with 4 catches and 40 yards gets 8 points, which is the same as a TD catch. Also, it seems like any crappy receiver can get that much
8/22/2009 4:38:37 AM
I'm not a fan of any points per reception, but I guess it's sortof fair since receivers don't get a lot of touches.
8/22/2009 8:48:02 AM
I think my league does .5 per catch
8/22/2009 12:35:59 PM
Best rookie?McCoyBeanieKnowshon?
8/22/2009 12:43:14 PM
I guess I'd go with Beanie if he can stay healthy. Hard to judge though.I have the 4th pick in my upcoming draft tomorrow. Assuming Peterson & Turner get taken, who would you guys take from Jones-Drew, Forte, Westbrook, D.Williams, Tomlinson etc? I'm liking D.Williams since the Panthers Oline seems to be stable/consistent. http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:SF1_ioscxYgJ:heraldsun.southernheadlines.com/sports/panthers_nfl/5-1191224.cfm+carolina+panthers%27+offensive+line&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=usForte has a mostly new O-line coming together, but they should be improved?http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2009/4/9/828760/chicago-bears-offensive-lineJags o'line looks shaky:http://www.jacksonville.com/sports/football/jaguars/2009-08-20/story/jaguars_offensive_line_draws_upon_lackluster_startBolt's o'line looks pretty average too:http://www.bolthype.com/2009/03/will-chargers-offensive-line-improve-in.htmlIDK. any thoughts?[Edited on August 22, 2009 at 9:32 PM. 8/22/2009 9:13:51 PM
I'm pretty sure MJD will get taken 3rd, since thats the norm, so I'd probably go with Forte
8/22/2009 10:03:40 PM
^agreed.Forte and the Bears added Orlando Pace. Granted, he's not in his prime, but if he can stay upright, Forte could put up some serious points.D. Williams is a solid pick, but Forte is the choice at #4.
8/22/2009 10:14:12 PM
Just did this shit for the first time.Going to be interesting.
8/22/2009 10:51:52 PM
what do you guys think of Kevin Smith this year? I didnt see a whole lot of him last year, but everyone is pretty high on him this year and I went out on a limb and took him as my RB2 (behind Deangelo). I have Pierre Thomas and Marshawn Lynch on my bench in case he doesnt pan out.
