is the Italian GK still #1 in the world?

This is the worst job of clearing balls I've seen since youth leagues.[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 3:15 PM. Reason : ]
6/15/2009 3:15:02 PM
yeah I agree... he just looks so awkward sometimes
6/15/2009 3:15:12 PM
somebody needs to shave grosso's shitty sideburns
6/15/2009 3:16:44 PM
ive been impressed with the US defense, its still early of course.
6/15/2009 3:17:28 PM
8.5/10 first half performance
6/15/2009 3:17:53 PM
very good first half for Bradley and Donovandefense looks very organized too
6/15/2009 3:18:17 PM
None of you better come on here and bitch about how bad our coaches, players, and this tournament are. GREAT FIRST HALF! It looks like Italy was the team that had the man sent off.
6/15/2009 3:19:44 PM
Oh and thanks for selling the PK Altidore! Two teams can play at this game. If the Italians are going to flop then we are too!
6/15/2009 3:21:24 PM
lol what are you giong to do about it? our defense is clearing balls worse than rec league teams. we are just lucky that italy blows now. this team is about 2 steps down from the world cup winning team they had. i missed the first 15 minutes but from what i read it doesnt sound like we did anything...that red card was retarded, that is the most obvious "paul scholes" yellow card youll see. i wish jozy wasnt so lazy either, he couldve followed up a couple shots that buffon has muffed but he just sits around and watches. we dont need another lazy striker, we need a poaching striker.at least we have the lead, but i had a feeling italy wasnt really going to blow us out. im more concerned with egypt and brazil. egypt is a great tourney team and brazil is brazil. italy's stars are getting old and they are having a hard time to find youth to replace them.^^^defense does look organized, they are just clearing it right into the middle though. our midfielders are leaving de rossi and one other italian midfielder wide open in the middle a lot of times which is frustrating me. they had 3 or 4 balls that the left and right wingbacks cleared towards the middle and their midfielder easily collected the ball with no one even near him (and these are like 30 yard "passes" too.)[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 3:26 PM. 6/15/2009 3:23:59 PM
so are we dropping into a 4-4-1 for the 2nd half now?
6/15/2009 3:27:17 PM
thats what it looked like after the red card. that one chance we had where jozy drew the pk he was all by himself up there on a long ball pass....prepare for a lot of long balls guys...
6/15/2009 3:29:10 PM
6/15/2009 3:30:56 PM
where im reading? im watching it live. jozy sits around and watches when people shoot. as the top striker you are supposed to follow up, he never does that. he only works hard when the ball is near him. hes not very good off the ball. donovan and bradley had good offensive halves, but you have to play defense too and bradley nearly gave up a 1v1 when he lost the ball in the back to italy. (gooch tracked back and saved us)jozy and bradley had great offensive chances but neither apparently cant kick with their left feet at the highest level of competition...
6/15/2009 3:35:49 PM
i hope we don't get content playing in our own end...
6/15/2009 3:37:48 PM
you said from what you read, it doesn't look like we did anythingDonovan's job isn't to play defense, he's been playing as a forward (at least until the red) and Bradley was all over the place dude, one bad play doesn't discount a half... he's been our best playertotally disagree about Jozy still, the chance for Bradley was entirely set up by Jozy's run
6/15/2009 3:40:10 PM
6/15/2009 3:42:13 PM
and here comes Rossi to score a hat trick against us
6/15/2009 3:43:30 PM
called that
6/15/2009 3:45:38 PM
2 more to go
6/15/2009 3:45:47 PM
it was only a matter time - nice transition
6/15/2009 3:45:58 PM
haha rossi...
6/15/2009 3:46:27 PM
I would like to see Adu for Feilhaber.. he's disappeared
6/15/2009 3:47:10 PM
i sense nervous energy from the US nownot good
6/15/2009 3:50:07 PM
is #22 bornstein? hes lost the ball and given it away a million times this game.wait its prob feilhaber, hes been pretty awful. haha just saw the replay again of the goal, he gave it away in the midfield[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 3:51 PM. Reason : f]
6/15/2009 3:50:16 PM
^ Feilhaberit's obvious we need somebody in there to settle down the midfield.. Adu, Torres, ANYBODYgood sub... we need speed for these long balls[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 3:53 PM. Reason : bob]
6/15/2009 3:50:29 PM
i get the fresh legs argument but damn i didn't want to see altidore go off
6/15/2009 3:54:26 PM
that tackle was more deserving of red than Clark's
6/15/2009 3:56:17 PM
^ yep
6/15/2009 3:56:54 PM
BEASLEY?!?!?!?
6/15/2009 3:57:55 PM
OH LORD ITS BEASLEYFUCK
6/15/2009 3:57:57 PM
this game is a ticking time bomb for USA - possession is 85/15
6/15/2009 3:58:10 PM
6/15/2009 3:58:55 PM
yep. this was inevitablei dont understand the sub. altidore is bigger than davies, he'll handle lone striker better. if davies comes on it has to be for feilhaber and that doesnt really make sense. bradley exposed??? lolsucks that long blasts from european teams continues to be our demise...[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 4:01 PM. Reason : d]
6/15/2009 3:59:30 PM
this is some bullshitfuck that ref and his unnecessary red card that changed everything for the US
6/15/2009 4:00:23 PM
hard to be mad at this, we were in really good shape until the red cardmore room in their midfield = trouble
6/15/2009 4:00:24 PM
Welp, it was just a matter of time. Wish we had just one guy who could shoot like that or like the first goal Rossi scored.
6/15/2009 4:00:28 PM
6/15/2009 4:03:27 PM
I am proud of the US though they played their balls offIt is at least encouraging to see that kind of play after the last 2 matches
6/15/2009 4:07:35 PM
not a bad strike from Sacha
6/15/2009 4:15:32 PM
what are you gonna do when the refs handicap you with some bullshit red card?
6/15/2009 4:21:18 PM
2/3 - Rossi
6/15/2009 4:21:39 PM
fucking traitor
6/15/2009 4:22:22 PM
damn I was so close... does "de Rossi" scoring the other count?
6/15/2009 4:22:56 PM
Benedict Arnold (sour grapes)
6/15/2009 4:23:05 PM
oh come on, who would you rather play for? Italy? Or us?[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 4:25 PM. Reason : .]
6/15/2009 4:25:25 PM
howard saved it from not being 4,5-1 but what a great strike on the half volley by rossi.usa please to learn how to use your left foot. onyewu wouldve easily blocked de rossi's goal had he just cleared it with his left rather than trying to awkwardly swing his right foot over to try and kick it.2 great goal scoring chances turned into dribblers cause we cant shoot on our opposite foot either. i really dont see any excuse for not knowing how to kick with both feet when this is your job. theyve got ample amount of time...[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 4:28 PM. Reason : lol yeah really, i can legally play for usa or brazil. i would choose brazil everytime]
6/15/2009 4:27:02 PM
.[Edited on June 15, 2009 at 4:28 PM. Reason : epic double post. tww sucks]
6/15/2009 4:27:51 PM
I'd rather be the catalyst that turns the US into a real squad, rather than being just another Italian. But that's just me.
