not really impressed by the demo. The graphics seem like they took a step back from 09 and it's still way too easy to completely passes. I did notice more overthrown balls and bad throws by the cpu and myself though. The cpu actually tried to throw deep and throws it out of bounds if no one was open and there was pressure. The speed of the game is FAST. The players are speedy as fuck and I found it a little harder to defend a pass or try to user catch because there was almost no time to switch players. The player lock-on thing is pretty nifty and you can actually decide to continue playing a player if they have been injured. Don't know if it's worth $60 bucks but I'll probably get it anyway just for the online dynasty.UPDATE: Well it looks like EA has acknowledged that the sliders are borked. From one of the game designers:
6/18/2009 8:29:33 PM
how long are the quarters?
6/18/2009 9:25:08 PM
2min(way too short to get a feel for the flow of the game) and you can adjust the difficulty
6/18/2009 9:27:51 PM
yeah, 2 minutes for the demo is retarded...you can't setup any plays, and I didn't really see any affect from the "adjustments" part. I'm not a big fan of the low level throwing camera, it seems too low to get good depth perception on deep routes.
6/18/2009 9:50:33 PM
just played, seemed really nice, will be sweet on coach mode
6/18/2009 11:21:29 PM
I didn't love itI know its getting the bastard child treatment from EA while all the love goes to big brother Madden, but it shouldn't FEEL that way when I'm playingHowever, I will get past it and be ready to run roughshod over the rest of you come July 14th

did not like the herky jerky camera movement, hope you can set that to a more classic setting.tackling felt better, especially since you can set the game plan to conservative tacking and wrapping up etc.otherwise I'll have to play more than 2 mins to figure out whats going on
6/21/2009 3:17:37 PM
Don't think there's going to be any other camera angle and lol @ http://www.operationsports.com/videoview.php?id=431. About .45 sec in the defensive end jumps offsides, knocks the o-lineman on his ass but he also gets knocked back on his ass. wtf
6/21/2009 4:50:03 PM
^damn feels like a bad pan and scan in a movie, I'm tryin to scan the field and it jerks to some weird skewed angle
6/21/2009 5:03:19 PM
played it at bestbuy the other day for about half an hour.I tried to like it, but there were just too many flaws in how they designed our team for me to consider buying it.maybe i'll buy it second hand when it's dirty cheap and update the roster with the names and skill levels myself, but by then 11 might be out and hopefully they will have fixed everything by then.
6/21/2009 5:17:00 PM
What?Best buy has the full game playable?
6/21/2009 5:21:04 PM
Well i chose to play as NCSU against USC and made each quarter 5min.
6/21/2009 5:41:41 PM
do not want
6/21/2009 5:47:45 PM
this game has never been the same since the next-gen systems came out, unfortunately. i got 07-09, but i think i'm going to sit this year out and continue playing nhl 09
6/21/2009 7:28:41 PM
maybe if sales drop some this year, then they will get their act together and put out a better game. The fact that stuff that was in 06 that isn't in it now is just mind boggling to me. And not updating any gameplay is just lazy as fuck. And how are formation subs not in this game
6/21/2009 7:31:21 PM
yeah, NCAA 05 for gamecube had a pregame show with corso, fowler, and herbstreit and team entrances along with signs and more crowd interaction. Also it was pretty cool to have the Heisman Trophy presentation in NCAA 07 on PS2. Doesn't really help that there's no competition from other game studios either. I still can't see how all the little bugs along with fucked up rosters and non-working sliders. Their tests must be absolutely worthless.[Edited on June 21, 2009 at 8:22 PM. Reason : ]
6/21/2009 8:19:06 PM
^exactly. the presentation of the game has gone downhill big time. the little details that seem minute to the average gamer have been left out such as crowd reaction shots, team intros, sideline/coach shots, there aren't even first down chains or refs on the field.
6/21/2009 8:39:39 PM
http://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football/327955-college-atmosphere-what-what-shouldnt.htmlpretty good thread over at OS on the lack of college atmosphere and presentation in next gen.
6/21/2009 10:00:59 PM
i'm just looking at this year as a skip yearobviously their priority was Madden 10, which looks really good. I think I might just focus on that this year, but i'm also pretty sure that they will take care of NCAA in the near future, too. the market is too big not to, unfortunately the NFL takes priority to EA apparently.
6/21/2009 10:03:42 PM
^agreed. Most of my friends play NCAA and trade it in when Madden comes out. I on the other hand play some Madden but I am always playing NCAA. It just sucks to see features out of the game that were in it years ago. And there gimmicks like Season Showdown are just retarded. I would rather have dreads in the game than that shit.
6/21/2009 10:47:59 PM
^yeah if it weren't for this being the first game in years with teambuilder I would pass, but me and a couple others killed some dynasties back in the day with starting out with creampuff create a teams and working up
6/22/2009 12:35:23 AM
Holy cow. I never would have thought that my '06 title would be light years ahead of NCAA Football '10. That despite being for a previous gen console.

8 days. rosters will be available on release date and the patch to supposedly fix sliders, etc is out for approval.
7/6/2009 3:11:46 PM
when you say rosters do you mean "fixed" game rosters/stats, or do you mean rosters with names?
7/6/2009 7:49:10 PM
the fixed ones. i'm guessing it'll be a week or so after release before any decent named rosters are available.in other news, the pack won last weeks season showdown http://ncaafootball.easports.com/news.action?newsId=meta
7/6/2009 8:08:13 PM
We need to decide the set up of the league, and get a commishI still like the ACC/SEC Hybrid with VT, NCSU, Miami, FSU, Clemson and GT vs Tennessee, Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Georgia (leaving Florida out for power reasons)Lets try to come to a consensus before the game comes out
7/6/2009 8:29:09 PM
how about just the SEC? the weird leagues are fun for a bit, but after awhile the complete lack of comparison with the actual conferences kind of ruins it for me...
7/6/2009 8:34:41 PM
You're on a different level than everyone one else as far as realismIt's going to bother you that you can't call your recruits coon-assesbut whatever people want to doI just think the reason against the SEC is the difference between the haves and have-nots is so vastI mean I was Duke last year and that was alright, but I wouln't envy whoever ended up with Vandy and Miss St
7/6/2009 8:39:21 PM
Miss State might be doable, Vandy would suck... could cut out Vandy and Florida, and have the rest open...
7/6/2009 8:41:36 PM
also people jack off for the chance to be NC State...I could give a shit, but I think some people only play because of their State fandomCutting them out entirely might lower our participant pool
7/6/2009 8:43:20 PM
could always have acc-sec but not use a custom conference since there are a few overlappings. Some just may have more user v user games but it'd still be realistic.
7/6/2009 8:51:08 PM
so, the coach mode... is that done on a per game, per player basis or does the whole league have to be set to that mode?
7/6/2009 8:59:40 PM
who knows but if it's like the auto throw before it doesn't really matter if it's set for everyone. people who want to use it can just snap the ball and do nothing while the others can control the qb. I remember seeing an auto throw option under one of the things when you pause the game but it's grayed out or something.
7/6/2009 9:10:50 PM
sticking to the acc might make interest not go away... we did a pac-10 one last year and had trouble with people just playing their user-cpu games... however sec might not be bad considering its east coast and all... i def think we should stay with a single conference... just seems weird having bc in the same conference as arkansas...
7/6/2009 9:23:45 PM
yeah, the custom conference idea is ok but it could be a little weird. If we could get 12 people, the dual conference idea could work as long as there were 3 teams from each division like the list Slave gave. NC State, GT, UGA, and Clemson would have an extra user v user matchup. South Carolina would have 2.And I guess I'll throw my hat into the commish mix
7/6/2009 9:41:28 PM
i like the ACC SEC idea, without using a custom conference. it will give us two championship games, and also the possibility of some user v. user bowlsshould force each of the user teams to have one of their OOC games be against another user from the other conference. have something like the big10 ACC challengerandom selection of teams like last year or "fantasy" style?
7/7/2009 12:27:42 AM
Random selection, but even the worst teams will be on the NC State/South Carolina level, so no total losersAlso, I say we drop the 1-AA game play an interconference matchup as you mentionedthe ones that make the most real life football sense outside of the already scheduled gamesTennessee vs NC State...a real game in a few yearsMiami vs LSU...rematch of that 40-3 rape in the Peach Bowl and two big national programsVT vs Georgia...two top teams who never seem to playBama - Florida State... Sexy matchup, ratings bonanzaany combination of south carolina - ole miss vs GT and clemson
7/7/2009 12:36:52 AM
definitely need to drop the 1-AA teamalso I think we need to start it on Heisman difficulty
7/7/2009 12:53:01 AM
if we can get the numbers for the two conference thing it sounds great! oh and we def. need to start on Heisman this year. AA really is way to easy
7/7/2009 8:42:42 AM
I remember last year when GuitarGay started off with Miami beating some D1-AA team like 142-0Then when we called him out on it he got defensive and we booted him and brought in NYMNo such shenanigans this yearI play for keeps
7/7/2009 8:54:13 AM
I like the ACC/SEC idea without the custom conference. It allows for an even number of games against the CPU and other users. It also allows for potential bowl match-ups. It should be more attractive to people because there are more options other than just Duke when people leave the dynasty. And we definitely need to start on Heisman this year.
7/7/2009 9:44:25 AM
^^ haha. that was classic.Below is a current list of people who have expressed interest. Looks like we need 4 more people. If you're not on the list, add yourself and include your xbox live gamertag. 1. HaLo2. Slave Famous3. pttyndal ncsuftw4. Jaybee12005. EZ2Score216. NyM4107. Apocalypse8. iceman729.10.11.12.
7/7/2009 11:42:47 AM
FYI, I'm moving across the country like the second week in August so I wouldn't be able to play for like a week or so... don't know if that is a huge problem. I think I should have Internet and everything by the time I get to NC though already hooked up...
7/7/2009 6:15:05 PM
I remember when I play NYM last year Duke vs Miamihis team was so much better than me so i played ball control and held the ball for like 16 of the 20 minutesBut I couldn't convert a 4th and 1 and he drove down for the winning score
7/7/2009 6:28:06 PM
