taco bell cups dont fit in the cup holder. they will rock back and spill into the finger hole used to open the cup holder compartment.owned
6/17/2009 6:02:56 PM
the one time I drove an s2000 (AP2) it revved and drove just like my old nonturbo Rx-7, just more power and less dilapidated because it wasn't old
6/17/2009 9:21:16 PM
how could it have more power than anything
6/17/2009 10:19:46 PM
I'mma swap dat H22 into my Miata son.
6/18/2009 10:00:28 AM
^^^^lol, yeah. Whenever I pick up fast food I keep one hand on the cup while driving. Its a horrible cup holder, but is a great iPod holder
6/21/2009 1:28:11 PM
Its the misshift cup holder , lolProbably get the best gas mileage when there is some kind of beverage in that "cup" holder.
6/21/2009 5:37:10 PM
Yeah that's true; its a real pain in the ass to shift when there's a cup in there.
6/21/2009 8:00:22 PM
get one that hangs on the door
6/25/2009 11:19:22 AM
Don't drink and drive.
6/25/2009 11:40:51 AM
I dunno, $115,000 seems a little steep. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/1239127674.html

That actually really sucks, b/c that's a really rare color that was only sold in Canada. Less than 100 in that color, if memory serves me correct.btw the other night i got up to 25mph in reverse and wasn't even close to 6,000rpm on the tach, lol. VTEC in reverse is going to require a large parking lot.
6/25/2009 10:33:49 PM
when is the s3000 coming out?
6/28/2009 9:03:09 PM
^ I thought Honda canned the s2000 replacement because of the economy
6/29/2009 1:12:40 AM
6/29/2009 3:09:56 AM
what should have been in there all along
7/1/2009 12:52:04 PM
so as of monday i no longer have the s2000. i am hoping to move to greener pastures. as a result i'm currently driving a towncar.
7/1/2009 1:26:27 PM
Is this some kind of LS1 pwr?
7/1/2009 1:26:56 PM
YES MY SON^^what happened yo?
7/1/2009 1:50:30 PM
i went home to my little brother's HS graduation party and i jokingly asked my mom is she wanted to buy a convertible. (she had been wanting one since I was in HS but it didn't make sense with 3 kids) she ended up taking it for a spin and enjoyed it enough to ask me if i was willing to swap cars for a few days while she thought about it. on tuesday she decided that she wouldn't be able to go back to driving the towncar (which her dad gave to her for free as a temporary solution when hers died but never bothered to replace cause it ran well and got good gas mileage) after driving the s2000. as a result i am now driving the towncar while i look for a suitable replacement.
7/1/2009 2:23:46 PM
You're a damn nice guy son. That's all I have to say about that.
7/1/2009 2:24:25 PM
Isn't that the part where you tell her to have fun looking for one for herself?
7/1/2009 2:34:26 PM
i forgot to mention they are buying the car for what I paid. (which is still a great price 3 months and 6k miles later, but lower than what I had it listed for) I didn't trade cars completely out of the kindness of my heart. Plus i figure I'll be able to drive the s2000 whenever I go home while also being able to purchase another car...
7/1/2009 2:55:24 PM
dub is the most car ADD person you will ever meet. 3 months = time for a new toy!
7/1/2009 3:16:14 PM
Sweet Jesus. That S2k is dead sexy!
7/1/2009 3:33:42 PM
Its being built by a guy down in ATL. It isn't finished yet, but the engine is running.
7/1/2009 3:37:16 PM
I've read articles saying the chassis can't handle all the torque though. We'll see long term how it holds up. Hopefully, he's also strengthening the chassis.
7/1/2009 3:58:36 PM
^i've also heard the same thing about the chassis not being able to handle the torque of an LSx engine. to be fair the ADD thing is a pretty recent development...
7/1/2009 4:21:12 PM
Not that I disagree, but the S2K has a very stiff chassis. What makes you think it can't handle all the torque?
7/1/2009 4:29:08 PM
people on the internets! i saw a posting from a shop that specialized in LS1 swaps who said that the twisting caused by LSx engines coupled with needing to cut the firewall and some other stuff in the engine bay was very hard on the s2000 chassis. i'll try to dig it up[Edited on July 1, 2009 at 4:38 PM. Reason : ]
7/1/2009 4:36:33 PM
I can understand that if you have to cut away at parts of the chassis you'll hurt rigidity. I'd hope that anyone that did that would add reinforcements to offset any loss needed to accomodate the engine though.
7/1/2009 4:40:44 PM
Here's a thread on an LS1 S2k...http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/774878-ls1-into-honda-s2000.htmlI think the weak links in the chassis' construction is in the engine bay. (motor mount supports, cross members, etc...) I'm sure the suspension points have been reinforced to help stiffen the chassis. However, because this car originally had ~160 lbs-ft, I believe Honda kept the rest of the car at a minimum in attempts to maintain lower production cost and weight conservation. I could be wrong, (and oddly I can't find a single article now ), however, that's just what I've read. I know that the rear end can't handle v8 power. Aren't there chassis braces available (not to be confused with strut tower braces) for the s2k?
7/1/2009 4:43:11 PM
lol. yeah the pictured S2000 has a T56 tranny and a Ford rear end
7/1/2009 4:46:56 PM
how does every thread about a sports car end up talking about LS1 swaps?
7/1/2009 5:11:26 PM
because LS1s should be standard in all cars.
7/1/2009 5:33:55 PM
bye bye dubcaps .
7/1/2009 7:43:54 PM
7/1/2009 9:20:02 PM

i'm up for checking it out anytime, i was just waiting for you to tell me it was done. will tomorrow work for you?
7/1/2009 11:49:46 PM
Hey do you guys flash your lights, give a wave, or a head nod to other S2000 drivers when you pass them by on the road? I always do and its usually mutual, but lately I've seen a lot of pricks that haven't acknowledged me!it hurts my feelings
7/2/2009 8:42:01 AM
i'll wave at you friend
7/2/2009 8:46:14 AM
7/2/2009 8:50:43 AM
i usually gave a half-wave so that if they are looking for the wave they see it, but if they aren't looking for a wave i don't look too stupid.
7/2/2009 9:13:51 AM
I passed 3 this morning on the way to work, and I got no love! Granted two of them were traveling the other direction on Wade Ave, but still!
7/2/2009 9:17:01 AM
Lol, I do this with other Porsche owners. I try to wave only to those in older model porsches since they seem to appreciate the "heritage" or w/e behind something older. I don't bother with people in newer Boxster/Cayman/Cayenne/996/997 unless we make eye contact or they give me a wave b/c they seem to care less I usually give Beemer owners just the finger while I'm at it too (just kidding... )
7/2/2009 11:15:57 AM
I try to wave to other Z owners. If I restricted myself to just the roadsters I'd only get to wave at one person a week.Every so often I drop a thumbs-up on a G35 driver though.
