Stein which beer did you have? I went a while back and got a pitcher of their golden something or other and it was rather tasty.

Still haven't been there, but I've heard from several people that they have the worst wait staff in town.

They definitely have the worst wait staff. The service sucks and the food is terrible. The view on the porch is cool though

I complained about the music a lot mainly to the staff. My friends and I call it the Time-out bar, because it's like being in Time-out when you go there. The library also works. If there aren't a lot of people you feel weird about talking, and dick and fart jokes you have to be a little more careful about so as not to offend the families sitting within proximity. Music is a must, and facilitates talking imho. I think he's just a cheap ass and that's why there was no music.

I've been there three times, and the wait staff was amazingly slow each time. I did enjoy the food I had the one time I ate there, but with so many great places to eat downtown I'm not sure how often I would ever choose to eat there. It's hard to beat a cold beer on that patio in the summer, though.

thank god that Raleigh has at least 20 different bars that have patios and actually have beer on tap

Thanks for letting me know that I actually thought Boylan Bridge was the only bar in the entire city. It's great to know now that I have a choice.
