Third ep is pretty good. They're getting better and better.

spoiler: Alpha will be played by James Marsters
3/2/2009 8:04:13 AM
That's a joke, right? Cause I think that FBI agent dude that is looking for the Dollhouse is Alpha and doesn't know it. And his stalker neighbor chick is his handler or something.
3/2/2009 8:15:29 AM
spoiler?Alan Tudyk FTW [Edited on March 2, 2009 at 9:49 AM. Reason : ]
3/2/2009 9:48:53 AM
I thought Tudyk was still a rumor? I heard someone else from a previous Whedon show was going to show up later on, but can't remember who now...Either way, I'm digging this show. They're growing exponentially awesomer... as I predicted and as is Whedon's pattern.^^ Nah, not only do I think it's too predictable that he's Alpha, but she's not his handler. Or if she is, she's not a professional. We haven't seen anything going on with her except that she wants to get up on him No weird sly facial expressions or anything to imply there's something going on there. Whedon doesn't tend to do stuff like that - plus, all the major characters turning out to be actives would be stupid... that's BSG's thing [Edited on March 2, 2009 at 10:54 AM. Reason : .]

double spoiler: i'm just making shit up
3/2/2009 3:50:57 PM
I want to know what's in Echo's head! But the Handler/Active relationship is really similar to the Watcher/Slayer relationship. I want to see how it plays out and how it's different.
3/2/2009 7:50:32 PM
this shit is still on tv?
3/2/2009 9:56:08 PM
the themesong annoys me
3/3/2009 8:06:31 AM
it's alright. I'll keep watching it because I'm retarded. Firefly was so much better it hurts

nope. Maybe FireFly could have been the best thing he did. The first 13 episodes showed promise, for sure, and had it taken the 6-season course he wanted, it probably would have been awesome. But as it stands, Firefly is the 3rd best thing he's done, at best.

whedon's accomplishments in order of greatness1. angel2. buffy3. firefly4. buffy (film version)5. comic books6. rank shit7. this show[Edited on March 5, 2009 at 4:09 AM. Reason : serenity comes before firefly]
3/5/2009 4:07:55 AM
best one so far. except for the part where they just waltzed out of the vault. that was a cop-out. I'm still not really clear on what the Actives know and don't know when they're activated.... and what their relationship is with their Handlers. I guess they're programmed to trust the handler, and also programmed to come back to the Dollhouse to get their "treatment", no questions asked? Also not always clear on who knows and who doesn't know she is an Active. Like, which of the guys she was robbing the place with knew who she was, and if none of them did know, who hired her then[Edited on March 6, 2009 at 10:49 PM. Reason : .]

haven't watched last night's yet, but for those who have seen it - is it "the one where it finally gets good", as billed?
3/21/2009 7:35:56 AM
yep[Edited on March 21, 2009 at 9:04 AM. Reason : at the very least i finally get an advancing plot]
3/21/2009 9:04:04 AM
i thought this week's was pretty good...plot advancement FTW
3/21/2009 9:59:18 AM
i havent seen this show yet, but i love everything whedon has done prior. i guess i'll check it out nowoh, eliza dushku is hot
3/21/2009 5:54:50 PM
yep, good stuff. It demonstrates how much more intriguing the show is when it focuses on plot and story, instead of just doing week-to-week "Echo is ___ this week" episodes. I got a bit confused at one part though, then I read the write-up on TV Squad and got even more confused. When Echo was fighting Ballard out in the alley and it looked like she broke character for a second and did the "don't worry, we have a man on the inside" speech, wtf was she talking about. Was she supposed to say that? Was that "Echo" saying that, or whoever she was imprinted with?and yeah, i didn't see the neighbor as being a sleeper agent [Edited on March 22, 2009 at 9:39 PM. Reason : .]
3/22/2009 9:37:55 PM
that was a message the inside man/woman slipped into Echo's imprintPAY BETTER ATTENTIONi'm curious what's gonna happen when neighbor-girl notices she has a message on her machine and plays it back
3/22/2009 10:21:28 PM
^haha I was thinking that about the neighbor's machine too. The past episode with the cult and this one definitely have me wanting to know more about the shit that's gonna go down.
3/22/2009 10:29:38 PM
^^ oh, right.....reading TWW and watching Dollhouse don't mix
3/22/2009 10:32:02 PM
ahhh i love this show and this past episodes just makes me feel all The sleeper agent was a good twist and can't wait to see this weeks when she starts to become aware during testing.
3/23/2009 3:24:24 PM
I'm digging the show, Whedon has done it again, and I'm intrigued about what he'll do next.My only worry is if too many other people turn out to be sleeper actives. I don't like the neighbor being one. What next, Ballard is an active and was programmed by Alpha?Overall, though, the show is great and this week's ep is proof.
3/23/2009 3:30:27 PM
This show has really stepped up recently. For some reason, I'm finding this a trend with the fox shows. They start off slow, but then they start to get good once the plot begins to develop. I felt the same about Fringe, and now it's one of my favs.
3/23/2009 3:59:09 PM
yeah, I was telling my wife yesterday how it will get really old really quick if there are several sleeper actives. fortunately I think Whedon can weave a story well enough without going to that trick too often
3/23/2009 11:15:07 PM
Okay, totally missed this series, any way to catch up?
3/25/2009 6:50:10 PM
nope, they burned the original negatives of each show right after they aired it
3/25/2009 7:03:09 PM
the internets, people.... http://www.hulu.com/dollhouseepisode 1 is expired, but 2-6 are still up. You can skip ep 1 without missing too much that you won't pick up on the other episodes. all episodes are herehttp://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=dollhouse
3/25/2009 8:27:31 PM
another good one. The Dollhouse technology seems to be rife with errors - something else goes wrong with them every week, but they still seem to have complete confidence in Topher, no matter how many things he screws up.... Seems to me they should look into bringing on another technician!
3/27/2009 11:10:43 PM
I think the point is he's the best, even though it has so many problems. And yes, this episode was great, and this show rocks. Suspicions confirmed.
3/30/2009 5:03:09 PM
Next week looks awesome I'll be looking forward to it allll week
3/31/2009 12:52:28 PM
The last ep was bangin'. The story is really starting to move along and I LOVE it
3/31/2009 4:20:44 PM
Good episode. It was nice to be able to see why some of them turned to the dollhouse to begin with. I still would like to know why Echo/Caroline turned herself over to them. The whole Victor-Sierra relationship was cute with him waiting for her and then wanting to help her the whole time.
4/4/2009 11:19:03 AM
^ that was explained in the last episode. She was a college kid activist type who tried to bust into a facility of the parent company that funds the dollhouse. She and her boyfriend were caught. the boyfriend was shot, and she was captured.
4/5/2009 8:36:22 AM
^oh yeah. I just thought it was something bigger than that.

Victor is the only one of the main Actives who is a good actor..... November is really no good at all
4/6/2009 2:00:33 PM
Haven't watched this yet, but I love the Hulu/Dollhouse commercial
4/6/2009 10:29:11 PM
This is getting surprisingly better with each episode.
4/8/2009 12:03:58 AM
show is growing on me - really getting much better
4/9/2009 12:45:34 PM
too bad it's probably cancelled. Fuckin' fox.
4/9/2009 4:43:03 PM
fuckin fox

4/9/2009 7:08:06 PM
A little hope?http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/2009/04/dollhouse-13th14th-episode-in-limbo.html
4/9/2009 9:09:45 PM
I don't believe them for a second. IMO, if you decide not to finish or air an episode of a show, you're going to cancel it almost every time. It follows the fox pattern pretty well, and whedon is again getting screwed by them. He shoulda known better.
4/10/2009 1:05:27 PM
What FOX says and does are always different. They say it's not cancelled, but wait until when next fall when mysteriously "problems" arise and they decide not to renew whatever contract, then the show gets scrapped completely.I hate investing time with FOX shows. I always let myself get sucked in only to be screwed wanting more from a show later.
