They are probably going to open a nine hole loop (which nine holes still to be determined) within the next few weeks for the charter partners. The course will likely not open to the public until after the July 31 when Palmer is here for the opening ceremony. 7 and 18 are in bad shape and are being sodded right now, other than that the course is really shaping up nicely. The lady who gave us a tour yesterday compared the course to Pine Valley. If it is even half as nice as Pine Valley, then we are in for a treat.

6/3/2009 8:19:00 AM
looks like the best deal in town is still the preserve at jordan lake ... (at least until this place gets the TLC it needs, and time).Guess I had better plan on playing it next season instead.
6/3/2009 1:53:28 PM
$400 for 8 rounds nowI was hoping it might go the other way, but alas, interest must be high.$50 a round at best now.

I just signed up as a charter partner today. Looks like its Ramen noodles for the for the next 5 years.

6/4/2009 10:04:09 AM

Anyone want to go out there and collect the gps coordinates of the greens for me(Front/Back/Center)?Please?
6/4/2009 12:23:00 PM
^^ That layout is a good depiction of the overall course, but a lot has changed since it was rendered. 2 and 8 are in different locations now, there is no water on 3, and there are a couple ponds on 15.
6/4/2009 1:15:46 PM
^^ i dont have a gps but i'd be willing to buy a 6 pack and go walk it with someone who did for shits and giggles.

This still aint open yet?? Damn, last I heard it was opening in late may/first of juneHaving heard they are throwing anyone off thats found on the course yet, how hard is campus police on ppl walking/jogging it (or for me biking it)?
6/8/2009 9:42:46 AM
I don't know about this course in particular, but the vast majority do not want the public on their property if they have not paid to be on it. I could imagine campus police being dicks to those getting caught.
6/8/2009 10:41:03 AM
lol late june
6/8/2009 12:08:44 PM
Just called yesterday and the guy said after July 13th it should be opened to the public. Who knows.
7/1/2009 3:39:34 PM
Playing in a golf tourney there on the 18th. They said that they should have every hole open by then for play.

Will the driving range be open for practice to the public if you aren't playing that day?
7/7/2009 4:27:39 PM
not really sure. Good question. I'll get back with you after the 18th.
7/7/2009 4:52:57 PM
The course is open to the public as of today 7/13/09.The Range is and hass been for a few weeks open to the public.I played it Saturday and Sunday...challenging layout that is a lot of fun to play. It is in decent shape for as young as it is...It will be very, very nice after a couple of growing seasons to mature the warm and cold season grasses.
7/13/2009 4:37:01 PM
for those who have played... do you think you can finish a round starting at 5 p.m. (assuming dusk is 8:30)?
7/15/2009 2:45:07 PM
Are all 18 holes open, or is it still limited? Thanks for the info, can't wait to play it!
7/15/2009 2:53:38 PM
How much is a bucket of balls?
7/15/2009 3:51:49 PM
^^^ probably not, it took me 4 hours to play on saturday, and that was with noone behind or in front of us... it is much more crowded now that it is open to the public^^yes all 18 are open, 7 and 18 fairways are still pretty bad, but it won't really impact your round^ 5 for a small 8 for a largeimho, 35 bucks, which is the student rate, is a steal to ride this course during the week.
7/15/2009 4:20:16 PM
how much to walk?
7/15/2009 4:28:04 PM
18 and 7 have started to green up with the rain and sprinkler aided watering. They really aren't in that bad of shape anymore. There are still some patches that haven't taken very well but overall it probably in as good of shape as if its winter.
7/15/2009 4:58:50 PM
played yesterday. tee time at 5. finished at 9. twilight rate=$35. a steal for that course. Greens roll better than any course I've played. Very visually stimulating and quite challenging. Most interesting play imo is the monster par 4 3rd followed by the drivable par 4 4th. 3rd-Plays roughly 501 from whites to a dogleg left. Huge trap guarding the corner; maybe 270is to carry. second/third shot to an elevated green.4th-- Plays roughly 290 from the whites; begs you to go for it but the green is protected by trees on three sides, so anything errant is nearly impossible.
7/16/2009 3:28:13 PM
^ what time do twilight rates start?
7/16/2009 3:45:32 PM
i wanna say 3 on weekdays; 4 on weekends
7/16/2009 3:58:19 PM
4 years late, the course finally opens?
7/16/2009 6:47:50 PM
what is the alumni rate for a weekday
7/16/2009 9:36:36 PM
is it open to students now?/ whats the student rate?if thats already been answered, my bad.[Edited on July 16, 2009 at 11:16 PM. Reason : .]

7/17/2009 12:05:32 AM
Are alumni considered affiliated? Or have the student IDs changed so much in 2 or 3 years that I couldn't pass that off?
7/17/2009 7:48:25 AM
just got an iphone.......what was the golf app called that you could use as a range finder?
7/18/2009 5:55:59 PM
anyone know if they will have alcohol when the clubhouse is built?
7/29/2009 9:02:36 AM
They have beer now, so I wouldn't imagine that would change.
