just got back from seeing a sneek peak... i think it's going to be the movie of the summer. it's not a great movie per say but it's definitely entertaining. plenty of giant robots, over the top explosions combined with just the right amount of comic relief . i actually couldn't believe how adult some of the jokes were with it's pg-13 rating but it's quality summer fun. kinda sorta follows the plot of the original animated movie for all my nerds out there.highly recommended A+++ would see again.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/transformers_revenge_of_the_fallen/I must say I was expecting generally positive reviews consistent with the people-in-the-Michael-Bay-thread's logic.[Edited on June 23, 2009 at 2:24 PM. Reason : .]
6/23/2009 2:24:22 PM
^you can't expect them to respond to or acknowledge things like logic and facts...they only understand explosions and stereotypes
6/23/2009 2:36:56 PM
why am i being called a liar ? i said kinda sorta and i cant defend that without spoiling the movie.
6/23/2009 3:15:05 PM
If there aren't at least two of the following three items...1. A sentient transforming planet2. Dinobots3. Hot Rod vs. Galvatron...then there's not even "kinda sorta" to it!
6/23/2009 3:19:47 PM
yea but the dinobots were barely any part of the animated movie. if it has-megatron coming back to life (galvatron)-hotrod -optimus dying-unicron-or starscream being the leaderthen its somewhat like the animated film

They've got the Junkions nearly perfected, they just need a Weird Al song.[Edited on June 23, 2009 at 5:12 PM. Reason : -]

^^ I think you've got 2.5 out of 5 there.
6/23/2009 5:04:09 PM
I just got wind of a spoiler that means I most certainly won't be paying to see this.WHEELIE.WHEELIE HUMPS MEGAN FOX'S LEG.FUCKING WHEELIE.

I saw that in the store the other day, and I haven't been keeping up with ROTF toys.I stopped, stared at it, and said, "You're fucking kidding."
6/23/2009 6:51:07 PM
it's no more ridiculous than the gold-toothed skids
6/23/2009 7:08:27 PM
No, it's not, but I'm not surprised about the stereotypes considering the stupid shit that came out of Jazz's mouth in the last movie.
6/23/2009 7:22:03 PM
^^I must have missed something.Oh, wow.http://tinyurl.com/ku9b8oQuality. May be worth seeing now... if someone brings over the DVD. [Edited on June 23, 2009 at 7:43 PM. Reason : -]

If there were a way just to look at megan fox's hot body for a few minutes, I'd rather do that than see the movie
6/24/2009 2:20:34 AM
just saw it at mission valley. i thought it was pretty lame. the only thing worse than the shitty attempts at humor in every scene was the fact that the entire theater laughed at stupid shit the whole time. i'm pretty sure more people laughed at this movie than when i saw the hangover. jetfire is the best character in the movie by far.
6/24/2009 2:49:13 AM
I thought the movie was pretty good. Jetfire was the shit.
6/24/2009 3:12:36 AM
Pretty cool, except it dragged. On. Forever. Once. In. The. Sandbox.
6/24/2009 3:18:27 AM
i thought it was good, it had a lot of throwbacks to the old movie and the original series. a lot of the plot needed to be more developed but it was a sweet movie overall.
6/24/2009 3:22:05 AM
^^ BRIAN WILSONBOT EXPOSED?!
6/24/2009 5:07:32 AM
the review from msn.com has me skiddish about going to see the movieI dont want comedy, I want bad-assery.
6/24/2009 8:13:32 AM
i saw it last night, it was pretty cool. Lots of explosions and slow motion robot fighting. Also the 5 minute span of multiple slow-motion shots of Megan Fox running was awesome.
6/24/2009 10:02:13 AM
6/24/2009 10:44:36 AM
that shot was so retarded, I've watched enough American Chopper to know that nobody sits on a fully assembled bike to airbrush the tank The worst part about the movie for me was when they walk out of the door of the Air and Space museum and are immediately in an aircraft boneyard in the desert. My only true "WTF are you serious?" moments. The other little skips in time/location I could deal with.
6/24/2009 11:07:23 AM
I saw itI liked itIt definitely had a lot of throwbacks to the movie and the series which I really appreciated. The special effects were some of the best I have ever seen. Especially Devastator. Yes there were stupid quirky parts in the movie but that was to be expected. If you ever watched the cartoon, there were tons of them (cue the Junkions). It makes me laugh that people went into this movie expecting a seriously awesome plot. They are giant sentient robots. Seriously, people get over yourselves.Overall, the fight scenes were awesome and Optimus Prime is a motherfucking badass. Nuff said. I definitely thought it was better than the first and I would see it again.

uh, he didn't write everyone of those reviews, chiefI'm glad people are being honest and calling it what it is. I'll probably wait and see it at the dolla-fiddy theater. Staring at Megan Fox will at least keep me interested.[Edited on June 24, 2009 at 4:18 PM. Reason : /]

I loved it. I didn't go into it expecting Citizen Kane... it's a movie about robots for Christ's sake. It is what it is. I never once looked at my watch and was engrossed the whole time. I thought that it was as good, if not better than the first. The Transformers were great, and there were tons of them. The fight scenes were done well and very enjoyable. There were silly parts (the twins), but nothing as bad as the Autobots stumbling around the back yard in the first film. My only question is, what is with Michael Bay and sweaty girls? Not that I'm complaining...And I'll pay $7 to watch Megan Fox run in slo-mo any day.
6/24/2009 4:47:27 PM
the black people in my theater seemed to be thoroughly amused by the twinsi'll admit, they weren't quite as annoying as I was thinking they were gonna be, but it still would have been better without themdevastator should have done more, come on now
6/24/2009 5:11:43 PM
Okay, I liked.
6/24/2009 7:55:52 PM
nice to not hear people complaining about "product placement" like they did with the last one...or maybe it is b/c all the other stuff is overshadowing itregardless, i'm going to see it! i don't mind product placement. i'd rather have that than fake names for everything. like zoke instead of coke
6/24/2009 8:07:23 PM
going to see this tonight at IMAX...
6/24/2009 8:13:45 PM
Speaking of product placement, the Dyson vacuum was the best one.
6/24/2009 9:44:59 PM
haha - here's hat Ebert really thinks about it. Not his "official review", but on his blog where he's completely honesthttp://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2009/06/the_fall_of_the_revengers.html
6/24/2009 11:05:19 PM
I enjoyed it

^I agree. Most movies that the "critics" think are good, I don't like anyway. Seems they just look for deeper meaning and a life-changing movie.
6/25/2009 8:26:33 AM
watched it last nightwas a little too long. wanted to pause it and take a break before the dessert scene. too much cgi for me to digest.still good though.
6/25/2009 8:30:12 AM
It wasn't a bad movie but it could have literally been half as long and not lost anything. It's the only movie I've ever watched where I felt the action scenes were dragging. Also, when did the Pyramids at Giza get a beach?
