I think he (Maranelli) already took a Dline job with someone else? Could be wrong.
1/22/2009 3:42:47 PM

I could be your defensive coordinator
1/22/2009 5:49:20 PM
lol lets get reggie herring
1/22/2009 5:49:55 PM
Why not go to a 3-4 ourselves? With the depth/talent we have at LB, it seems like a good fit. That and our d-line sucks balls.OLB- DavisILB- BeasonILB- Connor/JohnsonOLB- Diggs/Taylor

some of the comments here are just like the comments on charlotte.com

I think fox has been pretty adamantly anti 3-4, and the guy isn't known for being flexible.
1/22/2009 9:45:09 PM
well he was a d-coordinator himself, so ultimately it is his decision on what defense he wants
1/22/2009 10:04:48 PM
^^^YOU IDIOT FIRE FOX AND BRING IN BILL COWHER! TRADE DELHOMME FOR MATT CASSELL!!!1
1/23/2009 10:19:24 AM
^If it was a possibility, I would be all for it. That would be something great. III

Herm Edwards fired by KCAnyone think he'll be the new DC? He's never held a Coordinator position before..
1/23/2009 5:30:58 PM
That would be awesome.
1/23/2009 6:44:13 PM
I don't know, it's not like the Jets and the Chiefs defenses were good when he was the head coach there.

1/26/2009 6:56:37 PM
Anyone watching this stuff about the panther's ticket situation on ATH right now? What a douche of an owner.
1/27/2009 5:24:04 PM
Decent Hire....now lets see who the assistance will be, and how they put this defense together. III
1/27/2009 5:27:33 PM
^^eh, I think you're going to hell if you insult Jerry Richardson right now in the state he's in.plus, it's in the PSL contract that you are obligated to buy playoff tickets. Obligated. I know it's kind of a dick move, but still. the panthers are within their rights to do it.[Edited on January 27, 2009 at 5:28 PM. Reason : .]

Honestly the psl's dont bother me. i'm more concerned with the team. i think we need to be more focused on rebuilding our defense because it has fallen of in recent years. Meeks has always been a guy that had defenses which don't give up a lot of points (a lot like the style of Fox). If the d can keep the points down, our offense can still score plenty of points by running the ball and playaction (which is something jake is a lot better at).
2/1/2009 12:23:06 PM
LOL they asked Peppers why he wants to leave the Panthers and he made a complete ass out of himselfwow, good riddance
2/8/2009 5:55:19 PM
STOP FREAKING OUT. THIS TEAM WENT 12-4 LAST YEAR AND WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO THINK THEY WILL CONTEND NEXT YEAR AGAIN
2/8/2009 5:58:47 PM
?
2/8/2009 6:00:18 PM
yeah where did that come from?
2/8/2009 6:04:53 PM
^maybe the beerz?
2/8/2009 6:08:18 PM
are they promoting NFL games in Toronto by having the NFC wear the old Blue Jays jerseys?
2/8/2009 6:10:33 PM
i wont lie, looks pretty good
2/8/2009 6:11:11 PM
I can only imagine what Peppers agent was thinking during that Q&A. He's a great athlete, but I'm convinced Peppers has the IQ of a turd.He played well though. Beason was solid ... in fact, Collinsworth hyped Beason for a long time during the 2nd half. Smitty made some big plays. Gross blocked. Pretty good showing for the Panthers
2/8/2009 8:41:58 PM
i didnt watch...i didnt want to see peppers wearing a panthers helmet
2/8/2009 9:45:45 PM
It's kind of a shame that Peppers can have an interception and a sack against the best players in the NFL. If only he played this hard all the time I would really be upset that he is leaving. Now I'm looking towards another good 1st round pick by the Panthers.
2/8/2009 10:45:48 PM
i mean, it's not like he didn't do anything this year (career high in sacks?)it's that he could demolish all DE records if he gave his full effort every game
2/8/2009 10:54:45 PM
panthers will act swiftly and franchise tag him this week, then begin the process of seeking out a trade.Gross deal will be worked out soon too i hope.
2/9/2009 11:07:53 AM
2/9/2009 11:58:48 AM
We'll have to wait until the 2nd round this year. The Panthers traded their 2009 1st round pick to Philly for Jeff Otah.
2/9/2009 1:07:20 PM
he means by trading away peppers we'll get a first rounder
2/9/2009 1:12:13 PM
That depends on if a team feels peppers is worth a first round pick
2/9/2009 1:12:51 PM
We will get a first round pick for Pep even though it will probaly be middle to late in the 1st round. I'm really thinking that we will get a 1st and a 4th, slightly less than the Chiefs got for Allen last year.
2/9/2009 5:26:09 PM
So, franchise tagging Peppers is almost a definite now, what about Gross? Wouldn't you rather franchise the guy who wants to be here? This is of course assuming that neither player has a long term deal settled upon by the start of FA.
2/10/2009 8:11:46 AM
I think we will sign Gross to a big deal even if we have to overpay him.
2/10/2009 10:14:05 PM
^^ do you even understand the concept of franchising?
2/11/2009 12:19:08 AM
i dont think she does
2/11/2009 12:21:14 AM
^4Just so you know, franchise tag is better used on someone who doesn't want to be there, but still has trade value. If the guy wants to be here, and we want him here, why franchise him when we can sign him to a multi-year contract?
