I believe that this shooting was most likely a negligent homicide. I would like to believe that this officer thought he was drawing his Taser, but his negligence in discharge is undeniable. I think the system of training police in usage of Tasers, pepper balls, rubber bullets, beanbags, and other "less-lethal" means of subduing subjects needs to come under scrutiny. These police were in a high-stress situation with the crowd being so rowdy, but when it all comes down to it there was a negligent death.

How stupid would the cop have to be to think he was drawing his taser, since the taser is on the opposite side of the body than the hand gun to prevent situations like this.

^Not for them it isn't. They carry both strong side, even though it is thought to be a bad idea by most agencies. Hmm, I guess they were right.
