She just doesn't like Florida...

I go to grad school at UC-Davis so no hate needed since they are irrelevant on the sports scene....

and as i stated in my post back on page 2, the ACC scored more points and put up more yards on the SEC schools (outside of Florida and Bama) than the SEC schools gave up on average during the year

so i still don't see your point, unless you think +4 points and +43 yards per game is inconsequential

comparing conf. to conf. games could be a lot of factors... GT for example, they have a very odd offense. 5 years from now ACC schools will probably have a "better" defense against them then a team that randomly plays them once even if that team actually has a better defense

right, because that's held true over the last 7 years at Navy. oh wait, Navy's won 13 straight versus service academy teams. or how about Florida's fall from grace as the SEC has adapted to stop urban's spread option...i mean they did lose 4 games last year

but it's really not shocking that you are now trying to apply your "objectivity" to the ACC vs. SEC results from this year

Yes, the 2005 Orange Bowl between Oklahoma and USC. Leinart had won the 2004 Heisman award the month prior to the game, and Oklahoma quarterback Jason White had won the award the previous season, making it the first game to have two past-Heisman winners on the same field (and on opposite teams).

^^^ you always try to bring things down to a really simple level, its not that easy. First off, service academy teams < most teams in major conferences, Army could know exactly what a team was going to do and still couldnt stop it. Florida has crazy amounts of talent, its not a question of knowing how to stop it, its a question of having the players to do it.

if you have two teams that have identical talent, the one that is more familiar with the opponent will probably do better.

ah, so what you're saying is that the SEC doesn't have the quality of players needed to stop a high powered offense with "a crazy amount of talent"

so

1. the SEC has the best defenses in the country, which is why their offenses are so shitty
2. florida has better talent on offense than anyone has on defense in the SEC

that about right?

I know you are trying to word this in a way that you can site one single stat as an "example" so lets say

1. The SEC as a whole has better defenses than the Big 12

2. Florida has more talent on offense than any other SEC team

how do you know the SEC has better defenses than the Big XII? the only teams with any sort of elite offensive players in the SEC this year pretty much lit up the scoreboard at will

you can tell by watching the games, seeing the talent, the coaching talent. This has been my point all along with you, you cant just watch sportscenter to get the final score and say "oh, thats bad offenses". I do completely agree that the SEC is down a ton offensively this year, but that doesnt exclude the defenses from being good.

you watch Big 12 games and players are open all the damn time, wide fucking open, and RBs have long ass runs where they dont even get touched.

almost every single one of my friends here in atlanta is a SEC fan. i have watched a freaking ton of SEC football this year. i do not believe there are many (if any) sec defenses that would look better against a Big XII team than a defense from a comparable level of team in the Big XII. that's been my point all along

you can't honestly believe a team like south carolina would shut down oklahoma or texas or texas tech. bama might be able to contain them, but then again they contained florida and still lost

what?

shut down? no, of course not. But if you magically picked up Oklahoma and put them in the SEC I promise you they wont score 60 in 5-6 straight games

really? let's look at florida's last 6 regular season games

Kentucky
Georgia
Vandy
South Carolina
Citadel
Florida State

you don't think Bradford could put up 60 on those teams?

take out citadel and replace with LSU...you think LSU (who gave up back to back 50+ games) holds him under 60?

take out Florida State...you think Arkansas holds bradford below 60?

who? Florida averaged 51+ per game against those 8 teams, and urban actually called off the dogs sometimes...stoops just used bradford to curb stomp teams and get those 60 points

i'm not saying that it will never, ever happen...i just don't think any of those teams have shown anything on defense against a really good offense that would lead one to believe that they are somehow better teams than Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Missouri

^^^ and I feel Florida has more talent than Oklahoma. Texas A&M? really? have you watched one second of one of their games this year? they might be in the bottom 5 of BCS conference schools. Every team in the SEC except MAYBE, MAYBE Miss State would be favored over A&M

^^ yes, I think he is coming back

off topic, but funny

and florida played a vandy team that lost to DUKE and Wake Forest....what's your point?

if i was making a run for a national championship and given the choice of having to face Vandy or TA&M, I'd take vandy

it means Vandy played bad in those games, that doesnt mean they arent better than A&M, WF would kill A&M... quit scoreboard watching

then you are a fool, A&M is HORRIBLE

obviously they werent that bad because the didnt end up with the 117th worst record. They played some good games early in the year. Vandy's weakness has always been its depth. After midseason they were beat up and performance fell. Vandy just doesnt have the depth to go 2-3 deep

For some reason you two just hate anything to do with the SEC and you live picking whatever Johnny come lately conference is doing better than normal that year as your new darling to argue against the SEC. I dont know if you are just doing it to troll or Peyton, Eli, Archie, Tebow and Hershel Walker gang banged your girlfriend or what but its annoying as shit
