I just got my flag backthank you, America.
11/4/2008 11:17:04 PM
yaaaaaay! now you can go burn it
11/4/2008 11:17:22 PM
Oh, no pithy comeback, joe?Apparently that flag stands for a lot less than one originally might think.
11/4/2008 11:18:56 PM
wut?if burro wants to burn a flag, that's his business.my flag is stronger than unamerican haters like him

goddamn, you're a whiny bitchit's going to take a while to undo 8 years of the culture of fear and division that BushCo has installed in washingtonpardon me for being optimistic.as KWSMITH2 has noted on these boards, we FINALLY now have a true empiricist for a chief executive.that's gold.
11/4/2008 11:27:02 PM
Dude. Is this the case of once again faith triumphing over experience? I thought the faith-based ticket lost.I'm going on the "empirical" record, here. You're the whiney little bitch pining about his flag - I'm just here to bring a strong dose of reality back to the conversation. That's what "empiricists" do, right?
11/4/2008 11:28:34 PM
joe you're a whiny bitchdrSteve no i'm not. YOU'RE a whiny bitch.LOL
11/5/2008 12:15:24 AM

11/5/2008 12:22:09 AM
you "got your flag back"ease up, old man.
11/10/2008 8:47:00 AM
Wow. I can't believe someone would actually admit that they only love their country when their favored political party is in power.I mean, I'm sure people actually feel that way, but to actually admit to it????This is why I'm glad I'm registered Independent. I am not cut out for bullshit partisanship.
11/10/2008 9:14:29 AM
^ PWN!^^ LOL! joe_senile.
11/10/2008 9:41:13 AM
i've already explained my position. it has nothing to do with political parties.it had everything to do with a certain gunslinging cowboy on his constant anti-American, extra-Constitutional swashbuckling adventures, using my flag to enforce gunbarrel democracy and suppression of civil rightsnow (hopefully) the flag is coming back to where it belong..carry on.[Edited on November 10, 2008 at 11:56 AM. I dunno, it remains to be seen if we really got our flag back.Don't count your chickens before they roost, or some other cliche. Obama hasn't done anything except promise a whole bunch of stuff. What's going to happen to the Patriot Act? (Obama voted FOR extension, and Biden wanted to expanded many parts!) Obama is going to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, but what is he going to let happen to the prisoners? By all rights, it seems Obama wants to expand Homeland Security. I dunno, I just don't get a lot of warm fuzzies, hopefully I am wrong. Maybe you have your flag back, but I would wait and see.[Edited on November 10, 2008 at 12:03 PM. Reason : .]

11/13/2008 5:35:19 PM
nope.but if i should ever want to, my flag supports me in doing so.
11/13/2008 7:37:16 PM
Joe what are you gonna do with your other flag, put it in your closet for now?
11/13/2008 11:40:05 PM
I ain't even GOT a garage. You can call home and ask my wife.
11/14/2008 3:25:51 AM
^Joe, I don't like your style, but i gotta admit, that made me LOL at my desk.Good one.

joe, how do you feel about the "Fairness" Doctrine. how does that affect your flag status since most would argue it is 'extra-constitutional'I am not trying to be a smart ass, I am curious what your stance is on it.
11/14/2008 3:35:43 PM
I know it wasn't directed at me, but I am goddamned tired of hearing about the fairness doctrine. For chissakes, noone even gives a shit about conservative talk radio these days. The only people (on either side of the aisle) that you have heard bring up the fairness doctrine int he last 5 years are the whiny ass GOP talk radio wingnuts like limbaugh and hannity. It's old news and not something that is likely to be implemented any time soon.
11/14/2008 4:04:30 PM
you are talking out of your ass. the "Fairness" Doctrine is very probable. Obama will appoint a new FCC chair, probably a Democrat and that person will basically have the authority (with the other 2 votes) to implement whatever he or she wants. the Doctrine has long been something some on the left want to see happen because talk radio is the only media that they get their ass kicked on. apparently, the old rich white man demographic loves talk radio and those shows you named have HUGE followings. it has been brought up before. there is no reason to believe it wont be brought up again.a lot of people in the industry are fairly certain it will come about in some fashion....not just "wingnuts." The Fairness, if it were implemented, would apply to the internet/blogosphere as well which is a medium that liberals dominate. Heck, if you listen to Limbaugh and Hannity, mainstream television networks are all liberal as well. They sure as hell would be affected by the fairness doctrine.Seriously, if this was anything but a non-issue, don't you think that the television networks would be running stories on it?I will start paying attention to it when I hear anyone but those clowns on conservative talk radio talking about it.

I care about Americans and domestic issues and my freedoms first. everyone else second. so yes, it does mean more to me. *dont try and twist that into me saying that I believe we are blameless for some shit you listed...I dont.

Media consolidation seems like a bigger threat to freedom of speech than the fairness doctrine would be.

^ it's a vacuous statement.A stable middle east IS America's interest, other countries not hating us are ALSO America's interest, you don't achieve these things by alienating our international peers.
