11/17/2008 11:52:26 AM
^UWHARRIE SAFARI!!!11^^^yeah, blew up a u joint which subsequently took out the ears on the long side inner and outer stub shafts. the knuckle/balljoints look fine so it should be a simple/cheap fix.

11/17/2008 8:32:21 PM
is ure hard?can i make it in my stock 1983 toyota pickup? I have 4wd.
11/21/2008 5:50:16 PM
my stock wrangler did fine. i spun the tires a little bit though. i came close to denting something i think. you should be alright.
11/21/2008 5:53:22 PM
^^definitely needs more lift
11/21/2008 6:14:44 PM
i just dont want any body damage. can i do it without denting or scratching anything? ive never been mudding before...i dont want to hurt my truck though.
11/22/2008 1:33:50 AM
i think you'll do alright, so long as you keep aware of the off-camber lines - never know if you might roll over
11/22/2008 6:01:44 PM
i think you're fucked
11/22/2008 6:15:09 PM
yea i cant roll over. that would be too much body damage.I saw this video of this guy in a red toyota like mine that rolled over at harlan a little while ago. he dented his truck all up. He was sponsored by Advil or something like that, so they probably bought him a new truck after that.[Edited on November 23, 2008 at 8:46 PM. Reason : c]
11/23/2008 8:44:50 PM
nah, they just picked up the peanuts and bottled water that flew out and called it a loss
11/23/2008 11:54:41 PM
ahaha, there were peanuts in there too? I thought we just lost a water my passenger (for some odd, retarded reason) did grab the steering wheel while we were upside down so it was interesting to say the least...
11/24/2008 12:16:46 AM
lol
11/24/2008 9:12:41 AM

killin it with the ebrake locker i'd never even heard of that shit
11/25/2008 6:14:21 PM
really? i thought that was like 4 wheeling 101 for open diffs. lock the ebrake a few clicks, and it puts tension on the wheel in the air, effectively sending a little extra power to the wheel with traction. kinda like a limited slip y0. it helped me get out of that retarded ass mud pit too. [Edited on November 25, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Reason : btw, noticed when i came home the newport was gone, gg][Edited on November 25, 2008 at 6:32 PM. Reason : in fact, some people actually use cutting brakes to truly simulate a locker. poor man's arb.]
11/25/2008 6:28:32 PM
I used to have to run brakes like that on my gramps old tractor one spins lock that bitch up back forth back forth ect ect
11/25/2008 6:43:08 PM
yep, farm equipment is actually where they came from. you don't want a locked rear to tear up your soils/grass/crops, but sometimes you need the extra traction in whatever situation.
11/25/2008 6:51:14 PM
man you lock the inside brake and all fun of sod tearing hanging on for dear life starts
11/25/2008 7:23:52 PM
Here is that video.Who does this shit? Thats just stupid and crazy. Why would you go out and wheel something as expensive as a car knowing you are going to tear it up? http://www.webwheeling.com/videos/play.php?vid=134

Just got back from a weekend at Uwharrie. This was my first time wheeling the XJ. She did me proud, despite me losing the transfer case fill plug and the powersteering pump giving out on me on Daniels. Had to make a new plug outta duct tape! Here's a few photos for you guys to make fun of.[Edited on December 7, 2008 at 7:14 PM. Reason : .]
12/7/2008 7:13:22 PM
please tell me you didnt stack all those rocks there to get up that little ass ledge.
12/7/2008 11:53:46 PM
looks like he winched it.
12/8/2008 1:46:44 AM
hell no we didnt stack anything. I just wanted to give the winch a shot, so we broke it out I might have been able to make it up without the winch, but I never tried a different line. Just made one go at it and almost took out the driveshaft.
12/8/2008 7:21:40 AM
eheh.
12/8/2008 7:52:48 AM
How did you get all that mud inside the truck? OH I see, running without doors. Bad idea huh? I want to go before end of the season, not sure if the truck will be ready though. I need to find somewhere around my place where I can flex it out...
12/8/2008 8:21:37 AM
I see the spare on the roof too LOL
12/8/2008 8:34:47 AM
Yeah, my roommate and I went with 9 other guys. Total of 11 of us. Only 3 of us had jeeps though, everyone else had 4wheelers. I had to put the roofrack on to carry more gear into the campsite for everyone with 4wheelers. My trunk area was FULL of spare parts, tools (I brought half my garage it feels like), and everyone else's camping shit (tents, sleeping bags, chairs, etc.)It was definitely out of necessity As far as the mud, I didnt have hardly ANY mud in there all day until saturday night at like 10pm we decided to go play in the mud pit, haha. Wasnt a bad idea at all. I just got home, covered the electronics, and took a waterhose to it. Drilled a few drainholes in the floorboard. A few minutes scrubbing and spraying took care of the mud.Has anyone ever seen the guy out there with the completely chopped/stripped XJ? It literally had no hood, body panels or roof. The two guys in it and the two girls with them were completely ORANGE from head to toe after playing in the mud. I also wonder if he realizes the XJ is a unibody...not too bright to do all that chopping.[Edited on December 8, 2008 at 8:44 AM. Reason : .]
12/8/2008 8:39:52 AM
I'm more or less over the playing in the mud phase. Its fun in a beater or something but the cleanup, especially this time of year, is miserable.
12/8/2008 9:00:51 AM
Yeah, I had to break in the XJ right though, haha. I'm generally not a fan of playing in mud. (also probably too lazy to clean it up everytime)
12/8/2008 9:03:31 AM
so that was ya'll I saw at El Dorado. stopped in to get a wristband to go shootin on sat, and saw a ton of wheelin vehicles, it was awesome. kinda made me wish I had one, so I just found a mud puddle after we got done shootin and got the durango a lil dirty. when are ya'll goin again, would love to see some wheelin.
