I didn't mean tax refunds.I meant zero taxes, and checks at the end of the year. Net gain. It's the only way we'll keep rich people from moving to Ireland. I mean, can anyone name a corporation that hasn't moved to Ireland?[Edited on October 17, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Reason : ]

Now we're just playing speculatives. I hope you really don't think the rich are going to up and move to Ireland over a couple percentage points.

It is not a few percentage. But more importantly, proof can be found in a few European nations which have made themselves tax shelters for their neighbors. The climate is very nice, I suspect some rich would move there for that reason alone, nevermind the 36% savings on their income tax.

It's been all downhill ever since Google and Microsoft moved their headquarters to Ireland.

i have always been amazed at the lack of pragmatism that exists in america. the class envy crowd doesn't seem to realize that most of the "rich people" are smarter that most of the politicians in washington, and the one's who are not can afford to hire accountants and attorneys who are. every politician will try to promise "equality" but none will be able to deliver. the only thing anyone can try to do is to work hard enough to rise above the rest of the mendicants out there.

this whole thread is just further proof that a consumption tax is far superior to an income tax.

I could dig that
