Why should I know what carville looks like? or more to the point, know the names of the people on CNN's panel of partisan analysts, or commentators, or whatever they're supposed to be?
11/4/2008 10:17:54 PM
Obama leading in Utah.Even though its only a skewed 1% of the vote, that is still lulz
11/4/2008 10:19:48 PM
11/4/2008 10:20:10 PM
^That is actually a good point. I feel quite disappointed in myself now for forgetting that.
11/4/2008 10:22:34 PM
if i see one more black person crying im gonna go insane
11/4/2008 10:25:07 PM
why?
11/4/2008 10:26:33 PM
because cali only wants to see black people cry when they're being shot, lynched or having crosses burnt on their front yard

I really enjoyed his concession speech - It was impressive and graceful. I really think it's the best speech of his entire campaign.
11/4/2008 11:54:08 PM
I was disappointed when he said it was the highlight of his life (or something similar)... though he did say that it was he and the GOP that fucked it up, not his constituents... hell, that's not even totally true. Public opinion swung even farther to Obama when McCain supporters started being morons.
11/4/2008 11:57:13 PM
notice how all the obama supporters aren't booing every time mccain's name is mentioned
11/5/2008 12:06:17 AM
you don't boo the loser when your guy wins

Good grief. What a dull speech. It also kinda made Obama's promices seem small. We put a man on the moon, defeated the nazis, and crushed communism and YES WE CAN put people to work like we promise to do every election cycle. What about fighting terrorism? Global Warming? You know, those generation-defining global issues that will be much more difficult to solve than spending more money???Oh well.
11/5/2008 12:21:32 AM
^ ^Yeah, but it's easier to be filled with hate when you lose. Cognitive dissonance plus general shittyness of losing makes anger a very human response. I don't think villifying the mob is very useful. Sure, it should be a lesson to always fear what large crowd hanging off your every word will do or say, but that's a lesson learned in high school history class. The thing I took away was that McCain finally seemed like the McCain I rooted for back in 2000. He showed his disapproval for the boos and the negative reaction of the crowd and quieted them down.[Edited on November 5, 2008 at 12:22 AM. Reason : ]

Sorry, back a page I said Michigan was voting for decriminalization of marijuana, they actually voted to pass a medical marijuana proposition: http://www.mlive.com/elections/index.ssf/2008/11/michigan_voters_approve_medica.htmlIt was Massachusetts that voted for decriminalization: http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2008/11/question_2_setu.html
11/5/2008 12:30:31 PM
so when is NC going to be called? what are they waiting for?
11/5/2008 12:31:35 PM
Absentee ballots is my guess...
11/5/2008 12:37:16 PM
How in the flying fuck did ted Stevens win in Alaska??????????? Senator Palin here we come. And the franken Coleman race hasn't been called. There's gonna be a recount and only 373 votes seperate the two.
11/5/2008 12:39:34 PM
If Helms had been convicted of 7 felonies while he was in office, he would've won re-election, too. Forty years of incumbency goes a long way in this country.
11/5/2008 12:41:31 PM
Looks like there will be a runoff on December 2 for the Georgia senate race. Chambliss failed to reach 50% of the vote.Oh and get ready for Senator Palin since the Senate will almost certainly vote to kick Ted Stevens out.[Edited on November 5, 2008 at 1:12 PM. Reason : :]
11/5/2008 1:10:07 PM
^^Well it's still a reasonable vote if you want a Republican to be in office.
11/5/2008 1:13:18 PM
Alaska finally got around to counting it's early voting and absentee ballots, and Ted Stevens is now behind by 814 votes. Maybe we won't have to expel Alaska after all.
