NC Has Most Expensive Gas in Continental US
10/8/2008 11:27:37 AM
wow, crazy. that's strange to see NC and GA having the highest prices in the country. In the midwest apparently it's <$3http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx
10/8/2008 11:41:37 AM
i was in vegas last week and was shocked to see lower prices there (right on the strip) than here.
10/8/2008 11:43:40 AM
And here in the triangle we're seeing some of the highest prices in the state. I was in Greensboro over the weekend and saw regular for ~3.60 there, while around here we're still hovering at ~3.90, with up to 3.99 in places.
10/8/2008 12:02:33 PM
One of my friends from Richmond said it was $3.30 last weekend there. I paid $3.59 at Lake Gaston, but it was still $3.89 when I got back to Raleigh.[Edited on October 8, 2008 at 12:14 PM. Reason : l]
10/8/2008 12:13:58 PM
$3.29 here in Baltimore area.
10/8/2008 12:21:23 PM
10/8/2008 12:33:13 PM
Still plenty of places in Gboro that are out of gas
10/8/2008 1:12:38 PM
Just about every gas station in my area is still out of everything but 87 octane. A few are completely out.
10/8/2008 1:33:52 PM
charlotte is the same way..
10/8/2008 1:43:31 PM
I think about $3.70 is the average here in Huntsville. I know a secret gas station though that is always about 20 cents cheaper than the standard ones.
10/8/2008 2:12:41 PM
You can now get gas in Oklahoma City for $2.60 a gallon.Sub $3 gas in NC is just around the corner.I will not change my car driving habits (I have cut driving by about 40% with carpooling), but I do plan on enjoying a trip in the airplane when I no longer have to pay $7.50 a gallon for gas at RTP. Hoping 100LL prices will be back near the 3.50-4.50 mark.[Edited on October 8, 2008 at 2:20 PM. Reason : .]
10/8/2008 2:17:50 PM
My car runs on diesel, so it's hard enough to find here in the fucking burbs. Yesterday, I had to hunt for a station that carried diesel and wasn't completely out.
10/8/2008 2:30:31 PM
^^DAT 100% LOW LEAD DRANK SON. [Edited on October 8, 2008 at 2:50 PM. Reason : Where can you get avgas for those prices? Lake Ridge?]
10/8/2008 2:50:22 PM
Right now, in Columbus County and Elizabethtown, prices for LL are around 4.70 a gallon. Prices for 100LL change at most places very slowly, but even if prices held for oil, we would see 100LL prices approaching 3.50-4 at the cheapest spots. I would suspect the most expensive spots when all the dust settles would be in the mid $5 a gallon.Suffolf Virginia is another great place to fill up cheaply.
10/8/2008 3:07:51 PM
i saw it for $3.15/gallon here in Massachusetts
10/8/2008 6:30:10 PM
Mebane has gas for 3.27...maybe Raleigh will be soon!!!
10/8/2008 6:32:09 PM
Saw several stations that have dropped 25-30 cents in the Charlotte/Huntersville area lately. I was surprised to see so many Exxons for 3.49 around Charlotte tho. Everyone else was a good 20 higher. That Sheetz/Pilot/Flying J is a good gashole.
10/8/2008 8:54:53 PM
The gas stations on the corner of Gorman and Hillsborough went from 3.89 to 3.79 while I was at work today.
10/8/2008 9:36:40 PM
I've been to several gas stations around RTP looking for Premium or Silver...
10/8/2008 9:52:04 PM
the 76 at the corner of Kent and Western has regular for $3.59. Thats the lowest I've seen around here. They don't have premium thoughI'm on E, so the search for cheap premium gas will commence after work...
10/9/2008 8:02:52 AM
3.29 or 3.19 in asheboro yesterday, can't remember which but it was cheap as hell. thank god for the rich fucker that opened up a gas station here just to give us cheap gas since he doesnt need to make much $$ ...cash only though
10/9/2008 8:07:12 AM
the shell station by my house just went from 3.99 to 3.59 yesterday. i was pretty happy since i'm getting ready to drive 5 hours today.
10/9/2008 8:18:04 AM
anyone know of any BP's that have premium around campus/raleigh/cary?
10/9/2008 10:58:15 AM
$2.68 a gallon in missourihttp://www.missourigasprices.com/They are reporting a Shell station here in Cary that is charging $3.43 a gallon as of todayhttp://www.raleighgasprices.com/
10/9/2008 1:45:28 PM
In the past 2 days in SC I have driven past 1 place that had it for 2.89 and one place that had it for 3.99 and they werent that far apart...
10/9/2008 1:52:56 PM
Usually around here in Burlington, just about every gas station (off 40 anyways) has the same price +/- 5 cents. Now you can hit one exit with stations at $3.2x and a mile later find $3.7x
10/9/2008 1:56:56 PM
yea same here around greenville. the other thing is that before this hurricane, for the last year that ive lived here, we are always significantly cheaper than NC (like 15-20 cents) and always well under the cheapest gas in the country (in fact often cited as the place with the cheapest gas in the country). right now we arent even close to that.
10/9/2008 2:08:49 PM
It is now $2.49 a gallon in missourihttp://www.missourigasprices.com/The cheapest here in Raleigh, without a car wash, is now $3.38 a gallon as of todayhttp://www.raleighgasprices.com/
10/11/2008 12:13:50 AM
I got it for 3.09 in Rodanthe today when I went out to the Cape.
10/11/2008 12:44:50 AM
I found a more secret gas station that is $2.89!
10/11/2008 1:24:25 AM
my gas station is out of gas as of last night.
10/11/2008 3:43:23 AM
saw $3.39 right outside of charlotte on 49 heading towards concord
10/11/2008 4:40:33 AM
i PAID $3.39 for gas in mebane on wednesday (it was $3.79 here in raleigh)
10/11/2008 9:00:45 AM
I suspect station owners know that the wholesale price of gasoline is going to fall sharply for this region very shortly and are therefore holding off restocking gasoline until it does. That it the only explanation I have for a gas station running out around about now.
10/11/2008 10:55:11 AM
I'm just glad that NC is one of the proud and the few states that's charging a $1 more than most other states. I guess gas can't drop below $3.00/g here, since the tax alone is what... $2.75/g?[Edited on October 11, 2008 at 11:01 AM. Reason : -]
10/11/2008 11:00:01 AM
Yes but no. Wraith it right. A Shell station here in Cary is reporting regular unleaded at $2.98 a gallon ($2.89 w/carwash).
10/11/2008 11:02:21 AM
^which Shell?
10/11/2008 11:56:11 AM
My boyfriend in IL (also very high gas taxes) said it was $3.08 there last night. Probably cheaper than that today. Normally he pays about 10 cents a gallon more than it costs in Raleigh. Hopefully prices will correct themselves and we will see sub $3 gas soon.
10/11/2008 12:30:52 PM
Its sub 3 dollars here in charleston at some stations.
10/11/2008 1:00:03 PM
$3.25 at Bunkey's Car Wash off High House Rd. in Cary. My navigation isn't giving me specific details, but it says it's only like 11 miles from Gorman St.
10/11/2008 3:52:55 PM
LoanShark, which Shell?*crosses fingers its the one at chapelhill and trinity...
10/11/2008 6:15:10 PM

10/11/2008 6:52:15 PM
