i think this is McCain's concession speech.....

fucking giraffe skit had me cross eyed I was laughing so hard.
11/2/2008 1:23:42 AM
I'd don't know the "Sad Grandpa" strategy he talked about might just work for him.
11/2/2008 2:38:11 AM
I had to go to hulu to see the Olbermann spoof. Not bad, although Ben looked like he was about to lose it a couple of times. The Special Comment was freaking hilarious though.
11/2/2008 12:04:36 PM
So question who is SNL going to make fun of if/when Obama is elected. They won't have Republicans to pick on.
11/2/2008 12:22:54 PM
Seth Myers was on Fresh Air last week, and they talked about that for a bit (just like Jon Stewart has talked about previously) - he said that he's sure they will find things to make fun of, but it's pretty much undeniable, regardless of your political affiliation, that Obama is just not very good joke material. He doesn't have any major features that are easy to jump on - no funny accent, no funny way of talking or moving, doesn't make major mistakes in speeches or interviews, etc. I know people like to dog on SNL, The Daily SHow, Letterman, etc for being too liberal, but they've shown that they have no problem making fun of Al Gore, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats. Obama truly is different from all them, though, and unless he just starts making gaffs left and right, it will be hard to write jokes about him
11/2/2008 1:18:33 PM
they'll probably go the way of blowing up his more magnanimous qualities. sainthood and the like.
11/2/2008 2:43:13 PM
i want a times square jacket
11/2/2008 5:26:48 PM
^x5 Here's Affleck as the douche bag Olbermann:http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/countdown-with-keith-olbermann/805561/
11/3/2008 7:35:58 AM
it's funny that hooksaw probably doesn't realize that conservatives and liberals alike thought the Olbermann spoof was hilarious, because liberals don't seem to mind laughing at themselves when appropriate. Ben Afleck is himself a flaming liberal, and i'm willing to bet Olbermann has seen it and thinks it's funny too. Somehow, i can't imagine the same reaction if someone picked on poor little conservatives like Rush, O'Reilly or Hannity.
11/3/2008 10:20:05 AM
im a fan of Affleck's Olbermann. hahaha this is pretty good.

Re: Monday Night Live, election special ...... why does Amy Poehler still look pregnant?
11/3/2008 9:04:52 PM
P Kshe had her kid a few days ago....the belly doesn't disappear overnight i imagine due to her impending pregnancy some parts were prefilmed though]]
11/3/2008 9:06:33 PM
she had it 9 days ago. I know it doesn't disappear overnight, but seriously - it looked like she was still 9 months pregnant. McCain didn't really do any jokes..... it was kind of a weird opening
11/3/2008 9:12:20 PM
It was tapeddurrrr
11/3/2008 9:43:16 PM
it wasn't, IIRC, she referred to stuff that happened in the past week.
11/3/2008 9:55:04 PM
They've been showing her intro in promos all week. Also, she quit SNL after having her baby.
11/3/2008 10:02:57 PM
well, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell "quit SNL" too, but obviously they all make exceptions.
11/3/2008 10:05:18 PM
both McCain's and Palin's appearances were just weird..... neither of them were really making any decent jokes. And Palin looked tired as shit
11/3/2008 10:11:37 PM
Yeah, they were lame, and taped.
11/3/2008 10:12:31 PM
i forgot how awful fred armisan's barack obama was during the primaries. granted its not great now, but he's improved ten fold

11/4/2008 9:47:02 AM
That was the best acting I've ever seen out of Ben Affleck. Damn funny.[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 10:59 AM. Reason : <-- liberal, btw.]^wow, did you read the next 2 paragraphs in the Affleck link? The part where Olbermann says it was a funny skit? If I was Affleck, I'd be a little uncomfortable with him watching also. Could he get pissed and attack me? Hell yea. Luckily, he kept a cool head and found it funny.[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 11:03 AM. Reason : ]

11/4/2008 11:25:11 AM
1.
11/4/2008 11:38:38 AM
Nowhere does it say he stormed the set. It says he got past security, which means he probably snuck through a back door on 9 to get to 8 and all the sudden he was there. It also doesn't say he was angry, just that Ben Whofleck was uneasy when he saw him show up. Molly Shannon once said she was scared shitless when Courtney Love appeared next to a camera while she was doing a CL bit, but when it was over and the camera cut, Courtney ran up and gave her a hug, laughing hysterically.
11/4/2008 11:44:08 AM
olbermann is a good sport and clearly enjoyed the skit.he even dedicated a segment to it on countdown last night and was nothing but complementarynice attempt to troll entertainment, AGAIN, old man, but no one's buying it
11/4/2008 5:51:58 PM
^ It's actually "complimentary," doofus.
11/4/2008 9:37:09 PM
i dont know what shenanigans are going on in this threadbut i would like to say that affleck was a surprisingly great host
11/4/2008 10:10:42 PM
The thing from last night was pretty lame. They just replayed all the stuff from the more recent episodes and all the clips that are already out there on hulu. I was hoping they would have shown a bit more clips from historical elections, but they got reduced to severely edited commercial bumpers. I guess it was all about election 2008 though.
11/4/2008 10:35:41 PM
goddamn i love hooksawpoints get refuted and he switches to homophones
11/4/2008 10:39:44 PM
Hurray, SNL can now go back to NOT being funny with no more McCain and Palin skits
11/5/2008 12:20:04 AM
the pepper one was decentso was the whalberg talks to animals
11/5/2008 3:27:48 AM

11/16/2008 4:03:15 AM
^^ yeah, i crossed that bridge a year or two ago. my wife has liked him for a while (after n'sync), but then at some point I guess after he started doing SNL or acting, i finally said yeah, he's pretty awesome.....
11/16/2008 9:13:58 AM
i've watched Snagglepuss about 5 times now and I still laugh hysterically every time
11/16/2008 10:28:38 AM
i still wonder how they found the painting from Event Horizon
11/16/2008 4:43:10 PM
Didn't even make it to weekend update. After the 4th gay/wang skit in a row I went to bed.
11/16/2008 5:49:09 PM

chris elliott is kind of a go to guy for...well...he is a go to guy
11/17/2008 9:58:55 AM
I thought Justin Timberlake's weekend update thing was pretty lame. It lasted way too long."The Dancers" was pretty awesome though.
11/17/2008 11:14:55 AM
the dancing thing was funny. way way too much gay overall though. the digital short was terrible.
11/17/2008 11:30:17 AM
everything seemed to be for shock valueif it wasn't man-kissing, it was ultra-violence
