Why do we try to compare the ACC to the SEC in football? It has never been a real comparison and it isn't now...It's the SEC, Pac-10, Big 10 and Big XII.... then a HUGE gap and the Big East and ACC (take your pick) way behind this year...
9/3/2008 1:31:27 PM
More like:1. SEC2. Big XII3. Pac 104. Big 10/ACC/Big East

^^^ yeah you were spot on that we should suspend our programs. Brilliant man.^ I wasen't courageous enough to post that due to OU's abysmal bowls lately.[Edited on September 3, 2008 at 1:38 PM. Reason : .]

There is no way the Pac 10 is as far down from the SEC and Big 12..It goes SEC then a decent gap and Big 12 with the pac 10 right behind it, Big 12 getting the edge on the quarterback play FOR NOW. But I've not seen enough Big 12 football this year to go ahead and not say that the Pac 10 is on par with them. Big 10 football can kiss my ass though, boring, weak OOC schedules generally, and since all the teams don't play each other and there is no conference championship it makes it even worse. Stupid conference, I'll take the ACC over it anyday.

1. SEC2. Pac-103. Big 12t-4. 3 shitty BCS conferences^word up...when we send Duke up to your stadium and they shut you out, your conference fucking sucks]

The Pac 10 is pretty weak with Arizona, Stanford, Washington, Washington State, and Oregon State. You could even throw in UCLA even though they beat Tennessee on Monday (which was more b/c Tenn. gave the game away).
9/3/2008 5:15:03 PM
^you can't just pick and choose which games matter, and which don't. UCLA beat Tenn, a team a lot of people think will have a great season. Take some off because it was at UCLA, but to just discount UCLA because Tenn "didn't play good." ? All we have to actually go on are the few times these teams venture out and play each other. Texas A&M and Baylor are aweful, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa St., who knows right now. And I'm not drinking the kool-aid on Texas Tech till they show they can play some defense. They might score 45 on a Pac 10 team, but that team will score 55.Just to early to tell but from what I watched so far, nothing to me shows that the Pac 10 is way behind the big 12. I know USC, Cal, and UCLA had quality wins, that we do know. Stanford played Oregon St. so we know nothing there, can't just say both teams suck.

I'm going off of the past few years. And yes Tennessee did give that game away, or were you not watching? Everyone knew they could have easily beat UCLA had they just kept running the ball.
9/3/2008 6:39:59 PM
Point is they didn't, and UCLA won, so to not give UCLA credit is dumb. And I did watch the game and UCLA looked terrific on defense and got after a qb who was behind "the best line in college football" according to a lot of people who know stuff. And you should clarify if you are talking about conference rankings over the past few years or this year, since your post responded to

^ there is a difference between being the better team and being the better team that day... same thing as the Giants and Patriots last year, I dont ANYONE would claim that the Giants were a better team, they just happen to play better that one day that it counted. You replay that superbowl 99 more times and New England would have won more than 50%... same thing with the Tennessee/UCLA game.
9/3/2008 7:11:28 PM
well we only have one week of college football done so you can't make a good assessment of what the conferences will be like this year. you pretty much have to go off of at least last year, and probably the past two years for a better assessment.
9/3/2008 7:14:37 PM
I still think the Pac 10 is just a lot stronger then people give credit, there is always an excuse when they win.Tenn certainly made mistakes, but UCLA also won a game their QB threw 4 interceptions in the first half. It isn't like UCLA played a perfect game either. Give credit where it is due.

I gave tons of credit to Craft and the Bruins, but if Tennessee's coaches hadnt been fucking retarded they would have won that game easy.
