All weekend I didn't have anything gluten and I felt comfortable all weekend.This morning at meeting I had a small bagel and half cake dougnut and I can feel such a difference from this weekend vs. today.GAH. I love bread though. :/

Nope, brown rice has fiber and metamucil is gluten free if you need it. I try to eat veggies sometimes too. gluten makes me constipated, so I was able to give up chugging metamucil twice a day once I went gluten free.

Some newly reformulated gluten free cereal should be in the area soon. They include: Honey Kix, Corn Chex, Cinnamon Chex, and several other Chex flavors. If I find them I'll post where they are. The old formulas had gluten so read the ingredients to make sure you are getting one of the new ones.This summer Betty Crocker is coming out with gluten free brownie, cookie, and cake mixes too.

I saw some at the teeter yesterday. I bought honey nut chex (on sale for $2 a box too) and they had gluten free corn chex too. This was the teeter on green level to durham rd. but it means the warehouse has the new stuff so all the area teeters should have it soon. I love honey nut chex, am going back to get me 3 or 4 more boxes.

My serum test result came back today and I was told I do not have Celiac's.Somehow that doesn't put me at ease. How sensitive is this test?Also, my GI doc said, I may not have complete allergy to gluten, but am sensitive to it.So she just told me, I don't need to be strict with my diet, and if I put gluten back into my diet and my symptoms come back, then I should just limit it or go gluten free so long as I feel better.Fine with me.I've been off gluten 99% of the time for about 4 weeks now, and it's not so bad, really.

I am not technically celiac either, but the bloodwork misses a lot of people that might be in the early stages or have a sensitivity. If it makes you feel better that's what matters. It annoys me because my doctor at the time discouraged me from going gluten free because it was "too much trouble" but it's a small price to pay for how much better I feel.

I switched docs soon after that. He also claimed I was "depressed" when I had what turned out to be lyme disease. A gluten free diet is not hard at all. I was scared at first because a month after I started it I had to spend 3 months at an internship in Honolulu, but it all turned out okay. The first 6 months are the hardest, but after that it gets much easier.

You folks should really check out a local all gluten-free food shop called Rosie's Plate http://www.RosiesPlate.com . It's located at 701 N. Person Street a block north of Krispy Kreme. You can order online, have it delivered, or pick it up from their selection they keep in stock at the store.It's designed for people with food allergies / sensitivities. Everything is prepared fresh in their onsite kitchen, and is gluten, peanut and shellfish free. They also have other dishes without milk, or dairy, or eggs (check out the label or ask them).Entrees. Pizza! Desserts. It's all good.

Any of you gluten free people looking for a roommate? I've always wondered what other GF people do about that. I've always had gluten eating roommates and made sure they didn't use my jelly and other stuff. I bought the betty crocker gluten free cookie mix. For $4 it was ok, but nothing special and it won't be a regular purchase.

^5Seconded.Rosie's Plate is really good. I don't even have food allergies, but they produce a lot of decent-price locally-sourced and/or organic food -- all delicious! Nothing they sell contains GMOs. Also, they collect rainwater in a giant cistern! Awesome! They also have a selection of sweets without refined white sugar!
