I wish I could pull off the seersucker look, but don't think it would work for me. Slightly unfortunate as I kind of like it--but it's not for everyone, and I am evidently one of those people that it is not for. Thankfully I have a tan summer suit in a cotton-based fabric that serves me well enough on hot days.

I made a halter neck dress recently out of brown blue and white seersucker fabric. It's been awesome for events like dinner parties and picnics I've gone to.

Yes to the seersucker! Now I want some pants in this fabric.

When I see seersucker, I instantly assume one of three things:

1.) PeeWee
2.) Douche
3.) Crooked Country Lawyer

Couldn't ever do a seersucker suit. Borrowed a buddy's seersucker tie once, I pulled that off well.

Do y'all men wear hats with your seersucker suits? What would be good ones that match? Fedoras in a straw material?

Yes: http://www.esuit.com/haspel/index.htm

^ Seersucker is pretty challenging as it is, finding a hat that will go with it is a bit more difficult. I'd figure out the seersucker first and if you still really want a hat, go to an established millinery and try on one till it looks perfect.

Unfortunately, unlike a blazer and slacks . . . anything short of perfection when it comes to seersucker is a failure.

smc isn't some anonymous nerd. His name is Adam Banks and he grew up in Angier North Carolina. A bright kid, salutatorian of his class and destined for greatness. With a general interest in cars and pyrotechnics he entered the wolf web with honest intentions, focusing primarily on tech talk and the garage under he handle "Pryo".

A few years back, his simple and honest status was forever changed when he posted a picture of a microwaved cat. An over emotional girl contacted the owners of the site and the university and suggested he had microwaved the cat in the photo. A few more exchanges took place and the tww owners of the time told Pyro to not post the picture again. Not to be defeated and in vehement expression of his first amendment rights, Pyro posted the picture again and was forever banned from the wolf web.

With new found free time and a vengeful passion, Pyro sat in silence as his rage transformed him from his mild mannered persona into the entity we now know as smc. If we don't like the monster he has become lets not cast judgment on him lest we are ready to cast judgment on ourselves, for we have no one else to blame.

I live in Charleston, the seersucker capital of the East Coast. It looks really sharp with an orange tie, and if you've got the nerve you can wear a bowtie. Put on some white shoes and a Panama hat ... you'll look gentlemanly as fuck! You can also wear one of those boater hats or a straw fedora.

True. Has to be perfect not to look like a goof.

The biography needs work. Don't worry though, one day it'll all become clear in the inner sleeve of a great american novel.

In the meantime, avoid pork pie hats.

its weird to me how strong certain genes are. I would never BobbyDigital's daughter is half white. I assume its because darker skin, hair, and other features are dominant and the majority of caucasian genes are recessive?

you do know that indians are "caucasian" right? (only "4" invented races, Caucasian, Mongoloid, Negroid, and Australoids, though to hear others you would think there are 50 of them . . . the whole point here is subdividing others into arbitrary groups is silly)

either way that doesn't change my point about the genes and that from looking at her i would never guess that her mother was of european decent and that she was anything but indian.

I'm attending a 4 o'clock wedding this Saturday with reception to follow. I'm pretty sure that's too late for seersucker but I hardly ever where this thing anymore. Anybody?

light grey or tan suit much easier to pull off and much less likely to make you look like a dope

You can get a light full wool or poly blend that will be nice an light if you go with a brand that makes them less heavy (I've got a couple casual calvin kleins but I'm a real slim cut).

Also bow ties on ANYTHING but a standard tux are fucking awful

[Edited on July 28, 2011 at 11:11 PM. Reason : You don't see smooth cats like Bond wearing seersucker ]
