It's people like Boone that would vote for obamaeven if obama stood up and pissed in his cereal and was laughing. he'd probably celebrate it and ask for higher taxes on cereal.i just don't get how people can take things so much out of context to try and disprove obvious flaws in his campaign and say they have nothing to do with him.
6/5/2008 5:02:02 PM
I'm ready for a debate where they are on the same stage where Obama can't hide behind the press. His whole campaign is about how McCain will be another Bush term, when anybody who has a mind and can think logically knows that McCain is nothing like Bush at all.
6/5/2008 5:03:05 PM
twister is kidding. Its funny but i thought that the majority of people who attend KKK rallies hate minorities. But its very possible that they like the preacher, but disagree with some of the message. Until one says something racist.. its just guilt by association. Even though the action of attending such a group kinda expresses those views.

^^and that's exactly what he's been tucking his tail behind so far. i wish he'd come out and say, "my fellow americans, yes i'm going to drastically raise your taxes for these causes i wish to implement as well as not provide any real fix for gas prices besides biodiesels"[Edited on June 5, 2008 at 5:05 PM. but obama doesnt go there anymore treetwister. so you can't say that anymore. knowing someones past isnt important these days as ppl have proven in this thread

Show me one shred of evidence that he shares these views with Wright, beyond the fact that he associated with him.One would think he would actually act on all these horrible beliefs.
6/5/2008 5:58:52 PM
i'm probably gonna be peer pressured into voting for mccain cause i'm white
6/5/2008 6:02:04 PM
I'd vote for Barry if it was clear that McCain was not going to nominate morally reasonable judges. This has the side benefit of a moderate losing the campaign and helping the republicans give us conservatives the respect we'll never get in a party built by McCain.Sure it would be 4 years of absolute garbage, high taxes, new social programs we'll never get rid of etc... but we never would have gotten Reagan without the Carter. The danger is that I see no Reagan on the horizon, all the current rep. hopefuls are in some way sell-outs to this or that form of big government solutions. I don't see anybody whole-heartedly championing self-reliance.And McCain is to busy cutting down Bush to take time to talk about what is good about America. McCain should just quit the campaign and start a sunday morning show. That's where he belongs.
6/5/2008 6:09:06 PM
^how bout 4 years of obama and then 8 of hagel?
6/5/2008 6:12:03 PM
Hillary is already planning her 2012 campaign against McCain's VP. Hillary is ridiculously power hungry and will play her cards right. She was so close to the presidency she could taste it. No way in hell she is letting obama win
6/5/2008 6:59:22 PM
dont put anything past a Clinton
6/5/2008 7:00:54 PM
6/5/2008 7:02:47 PM
This has clips of McCain's recent speech that he planned for weeks as a counterpoint to Obama's victory speech over Hillary during the primaries. With quality speeches like this Obama is going to have trouble courting McCain voters."McCain Leaves Fox Speechless"
6/5/2008 7:05:44 PM
^ That's really odd. I did not realize that the pundits hated it so much (I was at work when he gave it and missed all the coverage, had to watch it on YouTube). And I didn't think it was bad at all. The content of McCain's speech is actually exactly what I've been wanting to hear from him for a while. Since when did these people become Theatre critics anyways? They're bitching about the background and the venue? THE FUCKING VENUE? What about the actual FUCKING ISSUES!!!!Good grief man!!!! I am glad I did not watch the coverage. I think I am getting fucking high blood pressure form bullshit likes this!! WHAT THE FUCK, NEWS MEDIA!!??ARRRR!!! I wish I could walk right up to Anderson Cooper and pop him in the fucking jaw.
6/5/2008 8:50:21 PM
sometimes i think obama would have to jump through hoops of fire for republicans to trust this guy

moron, If you really think Obama is good at explaining his views, then you have no watched any of the Democratic primary debates. Eventually, Obama was getting points from the press for not fucking it up so bad (sound like any other Presidents in the past we can remember?). He is not detail oriented and he has a tendancy for using strong language that he ussually has step away from later (examples, saying he would be with our enemies unconditionally, implying that Al Qaeda is not in Iraq, saying that his campaign never brought up the Hillary sniper incident). Why? Because he isn't worried about being right, he's worried about sounding sincere. And it apparently works on a lot more people than it should.
6/6/2008 7:45:03 AM
Part of the problem with him not going into detail on a lot of his policy was that 1) He and Hillary had very similar policies and it doesn't really pay to go into detail when they have the same ideas on the same things and 2) There were so many of those debates he had to say a bunch of different shit to keep from saying the same things over and over. If he ever does debate McCain, I certainly expect him to appeal to peoples' emotions, but he's also going to go into detail on what to expect from his policies as well as highlighting how similar McCain is to Bush in what he believes. In other words, it's really hard for there to be a good debate when there are either 8 people on stage, or the only 2 people left are mostly the same candidate.
6/6/2008 8:11:43 AM
^ You might be right, but I'm just judging from past experience. I'm really hoping that Obama agrees to do the town hall tour that McCain is proposing for this summer. I think it would help give us a better idea of how things will play out when things really heat up this fall (how well they do in debates, how they contrast them selves from each other, etc).In part I want to hear a bit about what Obama has to say now that he is not courting the base for the nomination. But also because I want to see how McCain does in his best venue. Despite the poor delievery of his GE kick off speech this week, I really liked what he had to say. I'm hoping to hear more of that. And I think if McCain can show that he is quick on his feet and can provide sharp answers, he will be able to throw off most this "he's too old jazz." Either way this should be good.[Edited on June 6, 2008 at 9:17 AM. Reason : ``]

I give up in regards to some of you guys. It's clear that some of you are not using deductive reasoning to reach conclusions. Instead you use findings, which may not be right, to support your ideology. If you want to convince someone else of your position, at least be honest with yourself first.Cognitive dissonance, or the "...uncomfortable feeling when a person begins to understand that something the person believes to be true is, in fact, not true..." can either "make" or "break" your journey for the truth.Believe what you want, but don't confuse belief with truth.[Edited on June 6, 2008 at 10:45 AM. Okay well fine, I don't really know how to give much in the way of evidence for the "appeasement" argument since no one has actually offered to do anything but negotiate but here's a Time Magazine thing about it, maybe they're considered more credible than me: http://time-blog.com/middle_east/2008/05/obama_appeasement_or_engagemen.htmlOn the subject of Sunni militias:http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/mar/21/iraq.alqaidahttp://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article2937104.ecehttp://www.philly.com/inquirer/opinion/20080321_U_S__must_end_support_for_new_Sunni_militias.html
