^that's at least 500hp on b00st yo. That should get you up to like 190mph EAAAASSSY.
9/15/2008 11:58:08 AM
120 mph in an Audi A8 4.2 Quattro (with a JE Design bodykit and huge 4 tailpipes). The car felt so stable and planted to the ground, it surprised me. And the acceleration was amazing too, using the paddle-shifters.

75 mph, when I got caught off-guard going down a hill on I-40.
9/15/2008 1:12:32 PM
^^haha. I'm glad they put a limiter at 110. That car was so unstable at 100... Being an idiot then, I probably would have went faster...[Edited on September 15, 2008 at 1:43 PM. Reason : .]

110 in a 3000gtran out of road
9/15/2008 4:54:56 PM
trans am is easy as hell to drive 160+its planted to the road. that spoiler makes a HUGE diff over a z28's spoilerand my moms 5.3 burb is limited to 110ish.. its a speed limiter
9/15/2008 5:26:44 PM
Oh, i know trans ams can easily go that fast, im saying he didn't have the balls to drive that fast [Edited on September 15, 2008 at 5:33 PM. Reason : only went 145 in a cts-v though. Above that the fucker got squirrelly(sp?)]
9/15/2008 5:31:25 PM
170 indicated in supercharged S2000170 indicated on GSX-R 750

lots of bullshit in this thread...or just people being misled by inaccurate speedometers
9/15/2008 7:02:02 PM
I think mine was pretty accurate on I-40. It indicated 65mph and I didn't get pulled over, so it must be right, son.

I can verify the ~95 limit on a tahoe.. hit it coming back from the beach a few times
9/15/2008 8:27:44 PM
are you fucking retarded? [Edited on September 15, 2008 at 8:28 PM. Reason : ^^. Maybe for pre- 2000 year models]
9/15/2008 8:27:56 PM
mine was a 2001
9/15/2008 8:29:46 PM
damn. well then i dont know. mine was a 04 and it topped out at 105. same goes for the 07 models too

escalade will do 150, says an ex-gm engineer i know
9/16/2008 9:23:22 AM
That almost seems plausible, but I have a hard time believing that if the Ram SRT10 can't get there with roughly 100 extra hp. (Escalade better aerodynamics than a pickup? My guess is yes)
9/16/2008 9:32:06 AM
word of mouth, I know. This dude did a lot of powertrain research/testing thoughhell, my dodge will do 90
9/16/2008 9:35:48 AM
fuck if id do 150 in a pickup
9/16/2008 12:05:19 PM
9/16/2008 12:46:52 PM
^true. im just going to say it's an exaggeration and let that one be
9/16/2008 12:57:43 PM
the new /slade makes 400+ hp....but i still doubt it.all i know is alot of obd2 gm trucks are limited @ 105ish but it may be diff on the speedomy dads 88 silverado speedo only goes to 85, but i was crusin wiht my buddies 04 tacoma and his went to 115...he said his speedo was burried. we both had a full load of rims/tires in the bed.
9/16/2008 1:02:32 PM
^traub has an 07 denali with that 6.2 in it, and I can personally attest to the fact that it cuts out at 105. Even though you can tell it has TONs left in it
9/16/2008 1:25:06 PM
yeah well TONs is not a 45 mph difference
9/16/2008 1:41:28 PM
^ true but who gives... its a truck....
9/16/2008 1:44:45 PM
^^I wasnt the dumbass that said the caddy could do 150mph....I was just saying that after driving the denali up to 105, in my personal opinion it could easily cruise at 120ish..however there is a HUGE difference between 120ish and 150...
9/16/2008 4:32:23 PM
i knowyou just didnt post enough info on what TONs was

I've never driven a Tahoe to the limiter, but on the drive down to spring break one year some friends were following me in a late 90s Tahoe. On I-185 in GA there isn't a lot of traffic, so as lead vehicle I cranked up the speed to an indicated 115mph for a bit. As I was speeding up the Tahoe kept pace till I got into the triple digits then fell far behind. In my mind I recalled it being limited to 105 so after a little bit of fun I slowed down to let them catch up. That instance validates for me that they're electronically limited. [Edited on September 16, 2008 at 5:21 PM. Reason : The Pathfinder fell behind too ]

^Escalades are limited to 106mph, or were you not in a USDM model? Even so, while it is a large vehicle, 115 isn't impressive for a 400+hp car120 last week in the 2000...

all the earlier ones are. i think the newer ones depend on which wheel/tire package you have as to where it's set.
