^ so not only are you bad with numbers, you apparently also lack reading comprehension skills. That no where in that article did Reuters assert that democrats share a conscience, and feel guilt with that conscience regarding this issue.
5/15/2008 8:39:38 PM
I LOVE the whitehouse's response to Obama whinning over this.“I understand when you are running for office sometimes you think the world revolves around you. That is not always true and it is not true in this case. The president is president regardless of an election cycle and he is going to be president of the United States through January 20, 2009,” LOL, Love it.Bush was right in what he said and when and where he said it.
5/15/2008 8:48:14 PM
^^ I'm better with numbers than you are--obviously. And the headline at issue certainly suggests a collective of some sort:U.S. Democrats outraged by Bush 'appeasement' remarkhttp://in.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idINIndia-33603620080515And stop being a douche bag--I think you know what I mean. You're just being pissy because you can't meaningfully answer my question:
5/15/2008 8:58:57 PM
^ collective != conscienceAlso, you used conscience in the sense of a guilty conscience, which is also not even close to the spirit of that article.
5/15/2008 9:02:02 PM
yeah. I fail to see where Dubya mentioned Obama or any other Democrat. He said that negotiating with terrorists is pointless, much like the policy of appeasement was pointless. Argue with that point all you will, that's fine. But nowhere did he say "Democrats are stupid, mang!"Seems to me that the dems are getting their panties in a wad worse than when someone says "you people." It's telling that they feel the need to defend themselves when they weren't even mentioned

Diplomacy is appeasement.Clearly.
5/16/2008 5:46:55 AM
The same people that threw a fit over the Dixie Chicks comments are defending President Bush on this. A musical trio's comments on a foreign stage are CLEARLY a bigger deal than far more outlandish comments by a President to a foreign political body.
5/16/2008 9:19:44 AM
this thread makes me laff.Bush supporters surprise me every time.there is not any front; national defense, the war on terror, the economy, national debt that wouldn't have turned out better if we had a stuffed panda in office versus Bush. The fact that 9/11 happened IS NOT A MERIT TO BUSH. It's not a very relevant argument for either side except maybe that fact that he should have done more to stop it. How he handled it is the only thing that matters, which... well...hey, let's accuse the democrats of not spreading hate messages directed towards Iran like the God fairing republicans do.
5/16/2008 10:11:27 AM
Honestly Why bother supporting Biden? Its not like this is the first time Goerge W. Bush has said something exceedingly retarded.
5/16/2008 11:44:10 AM
fool me once can't get fooled again
5/16/2008 12:03:56 PM
bush says 'strategery' = he's retardedobama says he's been to 57 states = he misspoke
5/16/2008 1:49:08 PM
^yes, because obama clearly knows how many states there are, and bush hasn't shown us anything that would suggest he knew how the word was spoken. In fact, hes given us many different situations in which he brings light to the opposite.
5/16/2008 3:11:56 PM
5/16/2008 3:21:58 PM
and i take it that you do?
5/16/2008 3:48:10 PM
of course not, but i dont claim to, like you dothe point was, when bush fucks up its because he's an idiot...when obama fucks up its an honest mistake...its a double standardand your response was solid evidence of that]
5/16/2008 3:49:30 PM
no, the difference is, the bush admin has had many fuck-ups on a large scale....at some point you deserve to lose the benefit of the doubt.
5/16/2008 3:55:49 PM
my response was anything but solid evidence of that. I showed that after numerous examples people began to find bush to be less than the brightest president we have had and has carried himself in such a manner that its easy for people to believe he may not know what is and is not correct in the example you provided. Its easy to assume based on how generally well spoken obama is what level of intelligence, and not only that, but also awareness, obama has and to assume he misspoke. when there is clear and precise reason, it does not necessarily consist of a double standard. when its done out of ignorance and direct bias, it can be.
5/16/2008 3:57:53 PM
i'm simply saying because bush has been all over the news the last 8 years, and all of his speech has been dissected and broadcasted, he's obviously going to have plenty of gaffs like the 'strategery'...'but fool cant get fool me again"...but i'd attribute that more to inevitable longevity...give obama, mccain, hillary, whoever 8 years and they'll have just as many televised retarded misspoken statementsall 3 of the candidates have already made mistakes during their campaigning...most people dismiss them as just mistakes...but wait til those things add up over 4 or 8 years[Edited on May 16, 2008 at 4:03 PM. 5/16/2008 4:02:13 PM
i really think there is a difference with bush. listen to almost ANY of speeches. i don't think he's dumb, but he's just a bad public speaker and that accounts for most of the gaffes.
5/16/2008 4:05:17 PM
i think he tries too hard to come across as an average joe and "speak down" to average americai dont think he's a genius by any means but i think a lot of people look at him as a complete incompetent idiot, which he also is not[Edited on May 16, 2008 at 4:06 PM. Reason : .]

Clinton is obviously a much better speaker than Dubya, but the media has also gotten a lot more predatoryDid Clinton have dozens of blogs ripping him every day? Maybe, but most people didn't know what weblogs were when Clinton was in officeObama/Clinton/McCain is going to get it even worse imho]
5/16/2008 4:17:57 PM
he just had the drudge report and talk radio crucifying him for getting his dick sucked.
5/16/2008 4:19:41 PM
the media wasnt nice when clinton was in officebut its a lot bigger and more widespread nowadays and will continue to be
5/16/2008 4:22:50 PM
^^^listen to a speech Bill Clinton madelisten to a speech Bush madeGWB also set records to making the least number of public addresses since the invention of the radio and most vacation days. Media being predatory? No.B. Clinton is an amazing speaker, probably one of the best the modern world has seen. But you can tell things by listening to people - and Obama falls much closer to Clinton than to Bush. McCain too I think. It's really hard for a professional politician to beat GWB. srsly.[Edited on May 16, 2008 at 4:27 PM. Reason : ]

do you not supposed that the more harsh and more frequent attacks could actually result from substance and reason and therefore appropriate.
5/16/2008 4:28:54 PM
i'm not even denying or confirming thati'm simply saying that any candidate will get more shit nowadays, warranted or not, because of the increased media circulation...i don't know how anyone could argue that
5/16/2008 4:34:46 PM
yeah the shit bush gets is definitely warranted...i agree]
5/16/2008 4:35:58 PM
i think clinton got it pretty bad from the press for a while. it just wasn't about his speaking ability. if anything they derided him for his speaking ability. "slick willie" anyone?
