interesting - it's definitely one of these three things. 1. Could be a sign that they're tired of Hillary overplaying her hand in PA. Many feel this way and I've seen it. I mean it is 24/7 on this with her now. Sad that the race has turned into such stupidity.2. Could be just an non representative sample and just more of a pro-Obama crowd anyway 3. issue fatigue. I mean once the MSM, talking heads, and campaigns think they find a silver bullet it gets so old quick. And this isn't some huge thing here, making the fatigue set in more than most.------I personally think it's a blend of all three, more possible #2 than any others. Although I think in the end this is all blown out of proportion and voters are smarter than to fall for the silliness of this mess, I realize he'll still lose some support no matter what. Can't see how he'd GAIN support is what I want to say.

I say that CNN did what I expected it would do but thought it had not. Like I said, CNN would love to stick up a headline about people jeering Clinton and they eventually did. But, it's not like I'm emotionally invested in the "issue". There are plenty of things that worry me more than who's boo-ing hillary this week. For example, Obama's inconsistant position on Iraq worries me. Obama's ill-informed belief that we can tax our way to lower gas prices worries me more. Obama's belief that subsidizing ethanol is a good way to promote gas alternatives worries me more. Obama's poorly concieved health care "reform" worries me more. I'll get really fired up when something interesting happens. eyedrb knows what I'm saying!!!!! [Edited on April 14, 2008 at 4:59 PM. Reason : ``]

^^^ While we're on semantics, wouldn't he be Bush the IIIrd?^ To be fair, it was far easier to recover from Carter than it will be to recover from Bush (43).]

Carter was like a kid who spilled his milk at a restaurant and wouldn't stop crying while his parents freaked out.Bush is like the dude who's beer you knocked over by accident who ends up killing everyone in the bar.

It looks like the poll I mentioned may be an outlier. I havent seen another poll that suggests she is up close to 20 points in PA. FWIW
4/15/2008 5:11:33 PM
yeah and last week that same poll had obama and clinton tied. i think there's a reason realclearpolitics.com doesn't use it when taking their poll average.and looking at the polls:survey usa has clinton's lead decreased over the past weekrasmussen has her lead increasingquinnipiac has no changeinsideadvantage has her lead decreasing.so in the end it looks like this has had negligible effect on the polls.[Edited on April 15, 2008 at 5:19 PM. ^you could be right. We really wont know until next tues.
4/15/2008 5:33:16 PM
in reality we won't know ever.plenty of people will say things were a deciding factor in their vote, when in reality they're just rationalizing and they had made their decision beforehand.
4/15/2008 5:36:52 PM
^hard to argue against that. Good pointI do think it will have an effect, but you are right. We might not be able to quantify it.

i personally think that this primary race has been so publicized that people have already made up their mind already. I predict Clinton takes PA by 12, IND by 4, takes KY and WV by huge margins, and PR by single digits. And Obama takes NC by 12, OR by 8, MT and SD by healthy margins. Effectively not really changing the outcome of this race, maybe spotting HRC some net + delegates but nothing that gets her really that much closer. Face it - her only chance is for Barack's campaign to derail to such a point that it's convincing to supers. With everyone's eyes trained on whipping at everything they can right now (GOP, hard right, even fucking dems! (Hillary you are fucking shameless)) that isn't hard right now. He takes every attack and like any good aikido martial artist, just redirects it effectively and in a way that translates to this age of media and information. That's that, you can't dispute it because anyone else would have been FRIED by now. His resilience is one tough ass leadership and even keeled (yet passionate) presence are quintessential qualities you want to see in a president, and it will start to become one of his more pronounced assets. The same shit happened to Clinton, Reagan, and others during their beginning of stretch runs. Once it gets in the general and the camera swerves to zoom in unabashed to McCain...things will really start to materialize in this race. You'll see. Not saying who is the winner, but you can bet your ass this will get interesting. It won't be a 'gimme' for any candidate.[Edited on April 15, 2008 at 6:14 PM. Reason : 7]

I think either dem is a disaster, and McCain isnt alot better. But I am hoping that Clinton will hang in it till the convention, for my own amusement.I think Obama has got the nomination wrapped up, has for awhile. Im just hoping Clinton can win a couple of states so she thinks she has a chance and stays in.You make a good point about people being decided by now. This is the longest election in history, so I believe you are right. Of course there are a few who are waiting for the Gary Busey endorsement before they pick thier candidate.
4/15/2008 6:23:45 PM
i think democrats have had this all planned out since 2006 and know they are gonna win
4/15/2008 6:24:32 PM
anyways...i'm glad this didnt get blown up like the wright thing...i was glad to see fox news going to some college in PA and some students were like "i dont even think its a big deal, i am bitter" etc
