I don't see that happening. You may be subscribing to your crippling paranoia... and dare I say... intolerance of a certain group of people.

i wouldnt expect you to see it, or recognize it if you saw it, or admit it if you recognized it.

yes, that's the easy way out. try to turn the tables on me and call me intolerant.

fact is, i don't wish to suppress anyone from believing, worshipping, acting, or loving how and when they wish -- as long as it doesn't infringe on others' rights to do the same

while Radical Islam (Sharia Law) is truly a threat to other countries, it has very little -- if any -- effect on ours.

the real problem is with the radical fundamentalist groups (Christian Dominionists) as led by people like Chuck Hagee, Paul Crouch, Tony Perkins, R.J. Rushdoony, James MacDonald, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tim LaHaye, David Duke, et. al.... who wish to do exactly that.

these Christian Fascists strive to define homosexuals, abortionists and immigrants, muslims, liberals, etc. as the "enemy" -- the bugbear of every red-blooded American's nightmare -- in order to dupe their followers and our government into giving them more money and more power, and further increase their stranglehold on our society.

Quote :
"
Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.

In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols.

We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant."

-- "The Paradox of Tolerance," Karl Popper, The Open Society and Its Enemies, Vol. I, p. 265 (Princeton University Press 1971)
