awwwww he is SO cute. <3 him <3 him <3 himmmm. i wonder if they've even ever taken him to the vet? do they feeeed him? poor poor poor thing

I doubt he has ever been to a vet. And him being fed is a major concern with me right now, simply because I do not know. Granted I don't sit on my back porch and stare down there all day, but I have only seen her feed him once this past week. That don't mean much though.amazon: That is great info you gave me, thanks! However, I am in Randolph County.I am concerned today though because he had to lay out in the rain all day yesterday, soaked to the bone. And today, the wind is just whipping around here. I really don't want him to get sick or die from it. This bothers me SO much... We'll just have to see what happens tonight.

^^^ i was just clearing up the info about the SPCA. would be better to find a definite home for him on here or something than to risk having him put to sleep, but i highly doubt they would euthanize such a cute friendly little guy!

Today was the final straw for us...Daddy looked down there this afternoon and saw that the pup only had about 2 FEET of walking space because he was so tangled up. (We couldn't do anything last night because the people beside them were having a party or something, lots of people and lights.) So, Daddy went down there and saw that the pup is on some sort of metal cable 'chain' that was tangled up in a mess with a blanket or something. It took a while to get all the blanket off the chain, and we took the wire cutters down there to get some of the cut pieces that were sticking off the chain. Within the radius of the chain, was a broken clear glass bottle that my dog cut his foot on (he wasn't supposed to follow us down there, but he's the one that was sharing his food last week!) And there was a burn pile right there beside him, I couldn't believe they were burning stuff so close to him! My Daddy got the 2 dogs some water - the other dog has turned out to be not so friendly, BTW. We decided at the last minute to let him off the chain, and he came up to our house to eat. I felt of him, and ris ribs are sticking out, but sunken WAY in right behind the rib cage and his hips stick out too. He is not in great shape. He came up to the house and we put a raw egg in with some dog food. He ate ENTIRELY too much, but I couldn't bear to take it away from him. Then he drank water like he had never seen it before. I brought him inside about an hour later, and he was just sleeping in Lucky1's arms! He's on our couch right now with a rawhide twist. So, I can't bring him to Raleigh now because too many people could have seen us letting him off the chain and fixing the chain - yeah, big deal! We went into someone else's yard to feed, water, and untangle their dogs! So, I have a feeling that when the woman gets home - my parent's will have a visitor. If not, I'll see what I can do for him. He really needs some attention and food right now - and my parent's will gladly give it to him for the time being. I'm just not comfortable with taking him away when half the neighborhood probably saw us over there today. If all else fails, we will absolutely report them to animal control.Something their neighbor told us - the crack-smokers aren't staying there anymore and are somewhere staying in a shelter! So, the woman there now obviously doesn't care to be taking care of the dogs. We'll see what happens - if she comes home and doesn't come up here, then I'll know she don't care. This is just such a shitty situation.

Will you drop him off in Knoxville?
3/9/2008 4:24:11 PM
lol, if I was going to Knoxville and both people here decided not to get him, I'd be glad to.
3/9/2008 4:25:42 PM
hey bethaleigh do you want to get some stray cats off campus?
3/9/2008 4:28:23 PM
No thanks. Call animal control. They'll either get homes or be put to sleep. Either way, its helping the pet population.
3/9/2008 4:30:33 PM
u dont like cats?
3/9/2008 4:30:49 PM
Dude, I have Grits! Of course I LOVE cats! But I can't do anything with animals in Raleigh because of where I live. But wild cats who are carrying diseases have no business having 3 litters of ~4 kittens a piece each year. They should either be neutered/spayed and released or put to sleep. Gotta do what we can to help control the pet population!

UPDATE!I talked to Mama and Daddy last night and they had him in the house. Sunday night he stayed in the house with them. Today, they haven't seen him anywhere AND the bigger dog that was down there is not there anymore. We have no idea what happened. I'll update if I find out what happened. I'm gonna try to get Mama to stop by or call the pound tomorrow and just see if they may have picked him up. They'll also be keeping their eyes open to see if he pops up again. I can only hope that in the mean time, he is somewhere dry, warm, and getting the love, affection, and attention that a puppy deserves.
