the reason we can't have cheers is b/c the faggot in the student wolfpack club want to turn everything into that stupid 'nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn cccccccccccccccccccc ssttttttttaaaaaattttttteeeee ncstate' and it sounds like shit and doesn't keep going.

see: reeeeeeeeefffff youuuuuuuuuuu suuuuuuuuuuuck refyousuck'. why they would do this is beyond me, as 'REF YOU SUCK, REF YOU SUCK' gets very loud and is very audible.

All I want is to see our team play with some passion and minimal mistakes, no matter what the score is. I'm really doubting this is possible since we couldn't seem to find any with the 83 team in the building last game

So, do we run and gun with UNC or go with our one and done offense? Watching the 2nd half of the Clemson game, we made our run to take the lead by speeding up the game which got us easy buckets and lost it by making mistakes in our halfcourt sets. Yea, it sounds ludicrous, but our lack of execution on offense just won't beat a team like UNC.

^^^why don't you guys just start getting the people around you to yell it (300 level or not)

wednesday would be a great time to start.. just tell a bunch of people around you to do it and as long as most people don't think whatever you are yelling is stupid, then most will follow suit

i want to hear this wednesday

I and others rocked the 300 level plenty of times. It was a great view of the entire court and arena. I love being up there when they cut the lights out and have the light board glowing red, making the entire arena red.

I remember when we beat Duke one time there were these two indian girls that had duke shirts on cheering for Duke (I don't know why, perhaps their friends got them tickets or they were Duke fans that went to State). One friend of mine and plenty of other people in the section would yell shit at them if they started cheering. I clearly heard one guy yell, "STFU YOU STUPID FUCKING CUNT!" and "GET YOUR DUKE LOVING ASSES OUT OF OUR STUDENT SECTION!" It was pretty funny and awesome at the same time. I'm all for making life hell for people sitting in any schools' student section and pulling for the other team, provided it doesn't get violent.

At the Maryland v. State football game this past year I was drunk, pissed off (because we were getting trounced), and yelling all sorts of stupid things because I had nothing better to do. My friend and I just started randomly yelling "Fuck the Turtle!" Well apparently there was some bitch there in the student section w/ her State guy cousins and she was pulling for Maryland. She gets my attention and starts to yell "scoreboard." She says it maybe once or twice, before I instinctively turn around and yell "suck my dick!" The only problem was when I got a good look at her, she looked maybe 16. She seemed shocked and her guy cousins were good and pissed off. Now, normally I don't shy away from a fight, but there were three of them and they were sober and one of me and I was drunk. Needless to say I didn't look over in their direction for the rest of the game.

Moral of the story: Get drunk, be an asshole to opposing fans, but make sure they don't have kin around who could beat you up in your present state.

There was some real douchebug pulling for FSU at the Thursday game that we won year before last.

I said something near the end, he started talking shit and making excuses.

Then he tried to start shit out in the parking lot with me. I told him to "hit me dipshit, I could use a few thousand dollars of YOUR money."

at this point he just stomped off, I think he works at Sam's Club on S Saunders

How is your team different from the first game?
Probably Javy being the main difference in the experience that he's gained. I think J.J. as well. I think the first game over there he was so hyped up and moving quick and not reading the defense. I think he's better as well.

I think we're different in rotations and guys that we're going to look at. We'll be different. We need to have people to come in and produce for us, we need to have starters produce for us. We'll be different in that aspect, but the big difference is probably Javy and the experience he has gained over these games.

More thoughts on his team's play:
It's been time now where guys have to step up and play. We need everybody. We can't have J.J. Hickson being the only guy rebounding for us. We need Gavin, Courtney, Javy, Brandon, Ben, and Dennis... whoever is playing, we need guys to step up.

My old coach said it's the job of the coach to put the team in a position to win and the players have to take over from there. That's what he did for us and we took over and made the plays. We need guys to make plays now. It's real simple. That's the way it is and that's going to determine whether we win or not. Making plays... it has nothing to do with anything else... it comes down to the players making plays.

This is a rivalry game. Do you have to stress that?
You don't have to say anything about that. Everyone knows it's a big game. Again, we need players to step up. It's time for them to step up and make plays and play the way they should be able to play.

Thoughts on how UNC defended Hickson in the first game:
They were physical with him. They were coming with two and sometimes three guys. I think Green in particular was very active in coming from behind and from the side... just blocking the shot and contesting the shot. They were aware of where J.J. was at all times.

Thoughts on Atsur at point guard in last year's game compared to this year:
Last year we had six guys basically play multiple minutes and obviously having Engin was a major factor. He controlled things and he made plays. He made plays for himself and he made plays for other guys.

This year we have a young point guard and so he's not capable yet of making those plays on a consistent basis for other guys so these guys have to make their own plays.

Thoughts on moving Courtney Fells some to point guard:
Well because it takes Courtney away from his natural position. Here's a guy who actually has had a pretty good year in ACC play, and now if I take him from his natural position and put him on the ball, he'll be trying to set other guys up instead of us getting him the ball.

I don't think Javy Gonzalez is the issue. I know he's not the issue. Javy is not the problem. We need to have more guys rebounding and helping J.J. We need to have more guys scoring and helping J.J. inside. That's what we need.

Javy is not the issue as far as the five that finishes the game or the best five. He's one position. We have other guys who have been here for a while and come back and more experienced. They need to step up and play.

More thoughts on losing Farnold Degand:
I knew it was going to be a problem. Farnold had a little experience and he was playing with an attitude of knowing that he could get it done. His game or his strength is something you can't teach... that's always an equalizer, and that's speed and quickness.

We had the ability to really go and break people down... just like I'm talking about now, making plays, he could just take it and go by someone. I knew it was going to be a difficult thing for us, but I felt in time Javy was going to grow and get better, and I think he has. I think he's done a nice job for us.

J.J.'s very good, there's no doubt about that, and this team would probably be even worse without him, but there still isn't a need for Sidney to take every opportunity to make it blatantly clear to the press who his favorite is. It makes him sound like an NBA coach (which he is, I suppose).

^ The problem is this has been going on all season. Before the season even started the athletic dept released all those video interviews of the new players and JJ kept going on and on about how Lowe was like a father to him, yada yada yada. From that interview and a few others w/ Lowe, I got the feeling that the whole Father figure thing was reciprocated. Those comments just sound like a parent who's kid can do no wrong.

JJ makes mistakes, but he is the only one who consistently plays hard. You can't really get down on a freshman for making freshman mistakes. You can get down on juniors and seniors for making freshman mistakes and not trying.

The other guys can shut the fuck up until they get 23 rebounds in a game.

^^ I felt the same way. But it does make me wonder what is causing the drop in effort/intensity since last year's team........although I think a lot of our serious frustrations this season were a direct result of the overhyping going on and us starting to get excited and believe it

(I'm not saying that we don't suck, we just had huge expectations after last year's tourney run and everyone including the media talking us up so much)
