2/6/2008 1:34:35 AM
so this thread went downhill quickly
2/6/2008 2:01:10 AM
what's the deal with the hospital stuff you were doing? i figured that was probably something you had to do for ems training or something. i mean, at least you were doing some sort of medically related helping of people within the past month. i can vouch for that. once your sort of "blacklisted" from that one station like that, does it follow you around to other places? a friend of mine got into some trouble at western wake a few years ago, but was able to get on somewhere else.
2/6/2008 2:07:54 AM
we go and work in anesthesiology so we can do intubations since we don't get to do too many in the field how's your leg btw?and yeah - it's not SUPPOSED to affect anything anywhere else, but everyone knows the agencies all talk to each other... i'm gonna give it a shot, though. six forks was my next choice.
2/6/2008 2:10:18 AM
for real....working pro bono is no bueno[Edited on February 6, 2008 at 2:11 AM. Reason : to what jackleg said at the end of the last page]
2/6/2008 2:10:42 AM
could be worse, at least you didnt get thrown out of your car to your death
2/6/2008 2:11:04 AM
lawli really do enjoy it thoughif you're in EMS for the money, you need to find something else to do
2/6/2008 2:11:37 AM
true
2/6/2008 2:12:43 AM
ive come to the conclusion that people usually shouldnt be whining like 96/100 times
2/6/2008 2:14:47 AM
this is the 4/100
2/6/2008 2:15:33 AM
yeah losing a job is no bueno
2/6/2008 2:16:49 AM
sounds like everyone is alive and doesnt have a house on fire to me
2/6/2008 2:17:13 AM
yeah the ability to whine on the internet must mean you are doing something right
2/6/2008 2:20:00 AM
2/6/2008 2:21:03 AM
That really sucks, evan. I know the feeling of not having enough time to do something you love, even though you are dedicated to it. Lots of us just spread ourselves too thin. But I think email format is FTL for firing/dismissing you from your position. Srsly. Good luck trying to work at another EMS department or at least trying again in a few months.
2/6/2008 2:30:27 AM
i think its a good idea to check out six forks. you might wanna be open with them and all if they might hear something esp since you seem to be turning around already. good luck
2/6/2008 2:33:50 AM
here is my opinion....the world could always use someone with the skills you got...so somewhere you should get hired
2/6/2008 2:34:55 AM
i <3 you dnl [no homo] [ok maybe a little]
2/6/2008 2:35:30 AM
2/6/2008 2:36:53 AM
maybe if you get back on you shouldnt post about it all the time. i wouldnt be surprised if someone off here called them
2/6/2008 2:43:33 AM
somebody better call the wahhhmbulance
2/6/2008 2:54:49 AM
evan, man, that sucks. Regardless of the circumstances, e-mail is no way to fire an employee, especially one who loves their job like you obviously do.But we're gonna take dnl's idea and expand on it a little bit. As an EMT, you have more medical knowledge than anybody in the entire nation of Gambia. We'll all put in to get you a ticket over there, and you can live like a king. Of course, it would be king of Gambia, but . . . look, I'm trying here.
2/6/2008 3:16:07 AM
2/6/2008 9:49:30 AM
that just sucks. i think your email takes just the right tone, though, and while i know nothing about the ems politics in the area, you should have no trouble getting on someplace else.that said, taking a few months off is probably not a bad idea. hope you were able to get some sleep.
2/6/2008 10:02:44 AM
sorry to hear all this evan. it was obvious that you loved doing emsbut you're a young guy and chances are you have a long life ahead of you to pursue this interest. so i say to you, bear down, focus, get your shit together, and reapply in 6 months. you can do it
2/6/2008 10:04:19 AM
im not trying to be a dick here evanand as a member of the brotherhood i feel for you. working volunteer ems is very rewarding. it was for me for the 5 years i put into it and i pretty much spent my whole life at the local station with my dad. but as you know, its a very serious commitment. I know you understand that. regardless of whats going on in your life you can / could cut some things out to have more time...such as
2/6/2008 10:08:05 AM
sorry to hear that bad things happened to youanalyze the previous situation to figure out where things went wrong and then do it differently next timethere's always another chanceuntil you die
2/6/2008 10:19:32 AM
I got the whole "thanks but no thanks, try back in six months" from a job and it SUCKED. I know how you are feeling. <3<3
