As for my picks. I have a thing for legitimately strong female characters.

Take Ripley, for example. The first example of a female character who was legitimately strong, instead of just being surrounded by incompetent men. (See: Resident Evil movies.)

And Sarah Connor, who proved her mettle standing next to bloody Arnold. (Unlike the TV series, which goes back to bumbling male characters.)

Or we could just go with the precursor to Gogo Yubari herself, Girl 13 Takako Chigusa from the movie Battle Royale. The role is intense in the books, kick-ass in the manga, and in the movie, when she whips out that knife and delivers the line, "Come at me. Every inch of me will resist you." It's one of the most bad-ass things I've ever seen. (Hell, Quentin thought so too. That's why she got hired as Gogo.)
