I didn't realize that Javier Bardem from NCFOM was in Collateral.
2/24/2008 11:50:01 PM
No Country deserved it.PS TWBB was awesome.
2/24/2008 11:50:22 PM
Who were the two guys who were supposed to be Halle Berry and Judy Dench?
2/24/2008 11:50:27 PM
Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen
2/24/2008 11:51:18 PM
yeah, No Country was really good, but the real tragedy would have been Bardem not winning
2/24/2008 11:51:19 PM

2/24/2008 11:51:32 PM
I thought it was all pretty fairly distributed, No Country was more director intensive and There Will Be Blood was more visuals and a one man show so the awards made sense to me.
2/24/2008 11:52:28 PM
2/24/2008 11:52:32 PM

blood was really just an awsome performace by DDL and the other kid, they made that moviealso the story was pretty good, but not all that
2/24/2008 11:54:04 PM
HAHA from 80th Academy Award page on wikipedia
2/24/2008 11:55:04 PM
There Will Be Blood is a medicore movie with a crappy soundtrack that has an amazing performance by Daniel Day Lewis within it.

He's half-irish half-jewish and grew up in south London. He credits trying to fit in as a boy as his first real method acting. And yes, I am a total DDL fanboy.

2/25/2008 12:15:56 AM
Amy Ryan got robbed...but I'm happy with most of the wins....especially Falling Slowly winning over some shitty disney songsohh, and did anyone else notice they completely left out Brad Renfro in "people that died in the past year" dedication
2/25/2008 12:28:37 AM
I didn't know there was a movie out about Edith Paif until tonight. I love the recordings of her that I have. I must check this out.

i, too, noticed a mistake in one of his earlier postslemme see if i can find it
2/25/2008 7:10:46 PM
I just watched hightlights of the oscars and they did seem pretty boring. Although I'm glad NCFOM came out on top. I can't get over how great of a movie it is.
2/28/2008 12:23:32 PM
Meh, I was slightly disappointed with the Oscars this year. The show was alright, actually, Stewart was a great host. My jaw was on the floor during the performance of "Falling Slowly". I ended up only getting ten right in my predictions, though, simply because both of the actress categories fucked me over. I think Blanchett not winning Supporting Actress was one of the biggest snubs of the night, if not the biggest snub.I saw all of the BP nominees, too, and I really think NCFOM deserved to win... if TWBB wasn't nominated. TWBB was such a fuckin' masterpiece.
2/28/2008 12:36:35 PM
was jon stewart better or worse than the first time...i didnt watch...how bad was chris rock....watching a cnn podcast and apparently the opinion was split on stewart and chris rock was like the worst ever
3/1/2008 3:37:46 AM
Stewart was not as abysmal as last time, but still pretty awful.[Edited on March 1, 2008 at 3:01 PM. Reason : ]
3/1/2008 3:00:53 PM
I never watched the oscars when Billy Crystal was hosting. Was he as good as everyone says?
3/1/2008 4:19:50 PM
Yep. Steve Martin, and Johnny Carson as well. Stewart is the wrong man for the job.
3/1/2008 4:26:51 PM
to me its obvious, conan obrian is the only one that can man this jobhe knows how to deal with all kinds of people and large eventswhy hasnt he had a shot yet?
3/1/2008 6:18:19 PM
I didn't think Stewart was that bad, considering the amount of time he had to prepare. But yeah, I pretty much loved Billy Crystal and all the zany over-the-top stuff he'd do.[Edited on March 1, 2008 at 6:23 PM. Reason : .]
3/1/2008 6:21:10 PM
conan is too much dumb goofy for the oscars imo[Edited on March 1, 2008 at 7:34 PM. Reason : what about chris rock?]
3/1/2008 7:34:21 PM
Chris Rock was probably the worst host of the Oscars I've ever seen, and I love Chris Rock.
