Continuum, vacuum, and muumuu are about the only 3 regular english words with "uu" in them. (There are a couple of more archaic, nonstandard, or foreign ones, though (and muumuu is pretty much foreign anyway - Hawaiian))(Duumvirate (archaic), Equus (biological), Carduus (biological), Menstruum (icky) are a few of the weird ones)

every county seat, and state capitol has a river (at least in nc, or very early america at least) - this was the main mode of transportation back in the day and how they decided what town/cities would be seats and capitols.
