^^if the dems did that i'd lose all faith in them...how do you have a pres thats been in the senate for like 5 years and a vice pres that hasnt done anything since unsuccessfully running for pres in 2004, after only being in the senate for like 1 term

an Obama-Ron Paul ticket is the stuff of fantasies, but a lot of young people would love it

what?

Who even thinks that either of them would remotely consider running with the other except for the most ignorant of political hacks?

Obama/Paul is probably far-fetched (I'd personally love it) but he would cover the areas Obama is weak.

Obama = lack of experience
Obama = wants change but doesnt have specific plans
Obama = very articulate

Paul = 20yrs in congress
Paul = change in current policies across the board, has specific plans
Paul = not articulate

Really the only downside to Paul being his running-mate is that he is a Republican and has gotten some negative media for his anti-war views. But I honestly think thats an automatic 10% boost to the democrat ticket. As long as Obama limits Paul's exposure to the media and highlights his record and principles I think it would work brilliantly.

Add in the fact the Paul's support is only going to increase, and that he has very economy centered views in a time when the dollar crisis is becoming the primary issue.

Obama makes me think of Chris Rock's Bigger & Blacker when he said "I want a motherfucker who moves me."

bullshit, he won because of his command of the english language, strong Southern conservative credentials, and complex understanding of foreign policy last name.

Damn, polls show him with 10 points over Clinton in NH - just realized that. He almost has the nomination on lock.

Winning Iowa and NH don't lock in the nomination.... it makes it hard for other to overcome the momentum, but if HRC or Edwards comes out swinging for NV or SC, and then Super Tuesday, Obama doesn't necessarily get the delegates at convention...

So I talked to some folks who worked for Wesley Clark. Consensus: he's an asshole (not surprising, most Generals come across this way) and doesn't deal well with dissent. There are more details, but that pretty much sums it up.

Of course, as we have seen, being a self-serving asshole with a penchant for surrounding yourself with sycophants doesn't disqualify you from being the VP. So I guess I withdraw my initial reservation.

right now Obama and McCain are the front runners - i'd be fine with either.

i like Obama because he is surrounded by economics guys from U of chicago -- which patently makes him a non-socialist. you get him or McCain and ABC (Anybody but Cheney) as vp + any congress that will keep taxes on the middle classs low (including getting rid of the AMT) + the steepening yield curve (which has already started), and small caps will start tearing it up. the nasdaq will hit 4000 within 18 months. i bet hi-tech salaries in RTP would increase by 25% within the first two years of the presidency. it would be like the late 90s all over again - except this time we hope to be smart enough not to get a zillion retarded dotcoms with fake market caps.

with either of these guys it just seems like we're in for better times, especially if we make real attempts to kick or crack habit and stop depending on those women-oppressing facist neanderthals in the desert.

If Obama gets the nomination, I see a couple things happen here. He will select a southern democratic governor. Someone like Mike Easley, Fmr Gov. Warner, or goes southwest and selects someone like Bill Ritter or Janet Napolitano.

Easley or Bredesen would be good. Warner won't do it I bet, he's got the Senate seat locked up.

If he goes SW, wouldn't the likely suspect be Richardson?

in which case, Richardson would be the easy fit....

Warner doesnt really have foreign experience, most governors wouldn't either

Richardson is a no go. The man is a freakin' Hispanic for chrissakes and didn't do to well in the primary. Richardson will end up in a Cabinet position, such as Sec. State.

Roddy is a fucking idiot. The future of the Democratic party is the South west. But you've already had your answers. You just like to ask retarded caged questions to make yourself sound or look smart.

^^You are nothing more than a tape recorder of your fucking self. You ask the same questions over and over again, and make some of the most asinine statements possible. We get it, you think McCain will win, we get it, you have the political astuteness of a 4th grader. Reading your posts is like getting a recap of Chris Matthews from 3 nights ago. You offer nothing new and are a soft skulled blight on humanity.

Just read your post. You quote Roddy like he is gospel

Obama/Paul, are you kidding me? You know, there are two factions of Ron Paul supporters. The one I'm part of supports Ron Paul because they believe in the constitution. The other faction, the "PAUL-KUCINICH 08" or "OBAMA-PAUL 08" crowd, doesn't have the slightest understanding of, well, anything. People like Obama are Kucinich are for big government. Period, end of story.
