Delhomme's progress (Pat Yasinskas is writing for ESPN now, gg):http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?id=3240463

sounds optimistic
2/12/2008 4:24:10 PM
I missed the stories about morgan and wahle yesterday but man, i feel like throwing a party... We cut deshaun and i might go get 50 kegs and throw the biggest party raleigh has ever seen!!!
2/12/2008 7:03:45 PM
the best part is: david carr hasn't been cut yet.
2/12/2008 11:20:35 PM
I seriously can't see any reason to keep Carr around unless some dumb team is willing to trade for him. Moore is the #2 right now, and I could see us taking a chance on a QB in 3rd-4th round of the draft.
2/12/2008 11:24:19 PM
I think they might be waiting for some kind of salary cap deadline to cut Carr.Imo, we don't need to get a QB from the draft at all....we've got two promising young guys already.
2/13/2008 9:45:24 AM
Well after year's debacle I can't imagine us not having 3 QB's on roster so I guess if Basanez is healthy that'll give us 3.
2/13/2008 10:33:04 AM
^they'll probably pick up another vet QB for training camp too, just to stir the pot a bit.
2/13/2008 3:16:39 PM
Why did Wahle get cut? Too much money?
2/13/2008 3:56:01 PM
well think about it...wahle was making a lot of money, and for what we picked up in drafting Kalil its a better more to put him at full time center and move hartwig to guard.
2/13/2008 4:03:10 PM
kris jenkins house for sale, jinx for chad?
2/13/2008 4:13:29 PM
2/13/2008 4:22:31 PM
Chris Harris signed to 4 year, 12 million dollar contracthttp://www.charlotte.com/panthers/story/493457.htmli didnt realize he forced 8 fumbles last season
2/14/2008 12:29:41 PM
Yeah the trade for Harris was pretty crucial at the beginning of the season and he turned out to be a solid player for us. Now if we could just get him some help at the other safety position, haha.
2/14/2008 12:39:27 PM
^^hell yes, harris is a beast, I was hoping they'd lock him up for a while...let the league in forced fumbles i think...^we need to get McCree back...it'd be the most fearsome duo in the league.
2/14/2008 2:30:11 PM
they re-signed Wharton to a 6-yr deal
2/14/2008 3:41:30 PM
why did they do that
2/14/2008 3:49:30 PM
Wharton sucksHe's the black Willig
2/14/2008 4:03:45 PM
^Bc fox is in love with that piece of shit... kinda like deshaun and ricky manning (thank god we finally got rid of that piece of shit)fox is way too damn loyal, you do one good thing and you are cemented in your role forever
2/14/2008 4:20:19 PM
i'm sure delhomme loved wharton 2 years ago when he let jon abraham get past him and sack jake 10 times in the atlanta game
2/14/2008 4:28:20 PM
will witherspoonhow i miss thee
2/14/2008 6:01:36 PM
Beason and Davis are solid for the forseeable futureJust have to find a good 3rd LB...I'm tired of the revolving door of Morgan, Diggs, Seward, Circiu, Anderson and whatever other scrub I'm forgetting
2/14/2008 6:05:17 PM
i liked witherspoon and allbut like i've heard other people say, once he left the panthers he became lawrence taylorcause he was a nice outside linebacker but did you see the Rams' defense this season? its not good
2/14/2008 6:17:40 PM
Hell, we could try to pick up zach thomas for the vet minimumin other news, rumor is the panthers are trying to shop foster around for a trade.
2/15/2008 9:07:56 AM
^ Here is the link.http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3246673
2/15/2008 9:17:43 AM
lol, nobody gonna trade for him, especially now that they know he's gonna be cut anyway.
2/15/2008 9:30:58 AM
idk, if teams are interested in him as the reports say, they might give up a 5th or 6th rounder so they won't have to worry about making him offers/counter offers in FA.Its a long shot, but they should atleast explore the possibility before just cutting him.
2/15/2008 10:18:20 AM
Panthers are looking to trade or release Deshaun Fosterhttp://www.charlotte.com/panthers/story/494942.htmlI'd love to get something back for him instead of just cutting him
2/15/2008 11:16:03 AM
The Falcons cut TE Alge Crumpler today. Would he make any sense for the Panthers?
2/15/2008 2:17:02 PM
He would make sense..but I think the price tag will be too high. King looked better last year and I think the staff really likes Rosario.
2/15/2008 2:19:31 PM
so did they franchise j. gross yet or what
2/15/2008 3:05:02 PM
someone else seems to think Crumpler makes a lot of sense in Carolina. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/hashmarks/0-5-422/Crumpler-Carolina-bound-.html
2/15/2008 3:36:55 PM
Would absolutely love to see Crumpler here.
2/15/2008 3:39:35 PM
speaking of Falcons in Carolinahttp://www.charlotte.com/112/story/494627.html
2/15/2008 4:12:15 PM
Crumpler would be great here. We definitely need a pass catching tight end. Jeff King and Rosario are good, but like the article said, we need someone to help out steve smith...even if he is a UNC alumbring him aboard
2/15/2008 4:20:19 PM
I say go for it...if nothing else, he be a good mentor for our 2 young guys.Imagine the possibilities out of a 2 tight end set with Crumpler and King/Rosario.
2/15/2008 4:46:40 PM
Amidst the recent drab of ncsu basketball and the hurricanes injury bug this has managed to put me in a damn good mood. It's so good to see Dan Morgan and his sorry ass out. I'm happy that the front office is finally cleaning house! It's about damn time. I've been saying it for years! About Carr though, you know they can't part with him simply because they will miss the gloves and that sexy haircut of his
2/16/2008 12:18:30 AM
I'm a State, Bobcats, Panthers fan...all my teams kind of suck right now but at least the Panthers are doing SOMETHING
2/16/2008 3:09:23 AM
Crumpler and peppers are very good friendsThis is a type of thing that maybe could wake peppers up to start playing dominantly again
2/16/2008 8:21:58 AM
Seriously, now if they'd just cut Chris Gamble and then our butterfinger non-existent wide receivers with the fugly tats (Carter and Colbert) I'd be happy and would pop the cork on some champagne. Forget them providing a good second option for Smitty, they can't even be good role players as they aren't dependable at all. I've seen way too many balls that were on the money the past few years be dropped by them. Gamble is just gross. I'll never forget that idiot and his throw back lateral against the Vikings (like the 2nd game in the 06 season). That was one of the worst and dumbest plays I've ever seen to cost a team a game!
2/16/2008 9:28:39 AM
In all fairness that play was called by Fox (or he "approved" it), although obviously it was terribly executed by Gamble. His contract isn't too bad either; I'm sure he will be back.
2/16/2008 10:11:16 AM
Gambel is pretty good though. I don't think he should be cut.
2/16/2008 10:49:15 AM
Yeah I remember Fox saying he "called" that play but I'm thinking he said that just to keep his player from getting thrown under the bus and from having him put on suicide watch. As conservative as a coach as Fox is I just don't see him making that decision.
2/16/2008 11:59:08 AM
If Peppers doesn't bounce back next year we're gonna cut him loseI still say he got syphillis and thats the reason he was so fucking badTime to redeem yourself Julius Frazier
2/16/2008 12:23:49 PM
I think this is Gamble's contract year, so he'll probably play good. I think Richard Marshall is a better tackler than him though.
2/16/2008 9:33:54 PM
of course somebody called the play. there was a player over there that was supposed to be there to catch it...deangelo i think. gamble just made a horrible, horrible throw. i cant imagine any player ad libbing a play like that in the middle of a game.
2/16/2008 10:22:31 PM
http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d806bde90&template=without-video&confirm=trueMoose was cut today. Any chance we bring him back? I wouldn't mind as long as he was cheap
2/18/2008 5:55:18 PM
^for real
2/18/2008 6:55:47 PM
Gamble is a good CB ... arguably the panthers best last year even with a broken hand. He's went from a terrible tackler to an extremely good one. I hated Gamble for than anyone a few years ago, but he's really come around.
2/18/2008 7:37:10 PM
^^^I could see us bringing Moose back his family lives in Charlotte and he played for us for nine years, but I just don't think he's going to be the impact wide receiver that we need. Dwayne Jarrett is pretty much the same type of player and if he can develop more in his second year I think he has much more up side than Moose
