Forget it, obviously you can't see the point that this site would be 1000x better if people had the maturity to not post inappropriate comments, pics and videos in threads.

There are many threads on here where you can post whatever you want yet some people choose to let that spread into threads which are obviously designed to be SFW regardless of which section they are posted in.

meh, I'm not going to argue about it.....because I don't see anything else changing any time soon.

But I will say that I don't read the 'message board' page. I guess the purpose of the section description is geared more towards new users. The older users...well, they're probably used to the NSFW aspect of chit chat anyway.

Personally, I enjoy chit chat being NSFW for the most part. Reason being is that I have enough common sense to not browse chit chat when I'm working.

Chit Chat was basically created so that that type of material wouldn't show up in the lounge.

I say that that we charge all non-premium members a fee of $1 per month. This fee will go towards a fund that will pay the current Chit Chat moderators a stipend every month. Keeping a bunch of college kids from acting immature is a full time job you know.

I just recently noticed an increase the number of nsfw/nsfh images in non-nsfw-labeled threads

and, well, having every thread in chit chat potentially nsfw is going to piss a lot of people off

start a lot more bitching

lose a lot of potential premie purchases

get less views and ad dollars for the new owners

drive people away (good people, not me)

and make the once small and manageable problem A LOT BIGGER!

at NCSU, they let people paint whatever they want in the free expression tunnel. This is done in part so that graffiti won't appear elsewhere on campus. For the most part, this works.

well if the rules are that chit chat is NSFW like the tag implies, then either we need to make SFW threads, which will get annoying and would be a legit grounds for suspension if someone posts NSFW material. or we make the lounge more tolerable to chit chat like threads that people clearly do not want NSFW.

threads like the DH hill thread, exam status and other threads that do not need to see NSFW material are at risk here.

and i can see some douche just running free in chit chat posting all his porn in every thread because its without warning.

I could see designating some long-lived threads (e.g., DH Hill, morning crew, workplace annoyances, posting @ work) to be SFW, and posting NSFW material up in there meriting a suspension.

The moment a mod starts deciding what is inappropriate or what threads should be immune to NSFW images, this plan will start going to shit as mods, especially gunzz, have always shown favoritism. Like I said, there are only two solutions.

2. NSFW images require a NSFW tag in the thread title. Don't post them in threads without those tags.

Really, I understand the fact that we want the option to do crazy stuff in Chit Chat in any thread. The problem is that there are certain topics that can ONLY be posted in Chit Chat (without being inexplicably moved by mods to Chit Chat anyways). There are some threads that can only go there, and it would be nice to not always have to worry about the parasites of the internet posting something awful in the thread.

And let's be honest, you can never completely clean up chit chat. And if you somehow did, the mods would never hear the end of it from users like Ambrosia who solely base their entire existence on obtaining attention in any means necessary. And when those users inevitably end themselves, would the mods be responsible?

There is a simple, easy fix, though. Just allow users to create threads with SFW in the title. Posting illicit material in those threads would be something you can get banned for.
