^^what's so idiotic about your reasoning? a team is 7-3...where the fuck do you get that they're 2 games over 500? 7 minus 3 equals 4...thats 4 games over .500...a 3-3 record is a .500 record so winning 4 more games than a 3-3 record is 4 games over .500still not quite sure if you're trolling or just mathematically challenged

a team starts at 0-0, which you can't mathematically divide, for every game you win, you go one game over .500, and just the opposite when you lose. it's been said already games won - games lost = games over .500. you can't determine how many games a team is over or under .500 by looking at another team's record, because that team has a different number of wins and losses. jesus christ.

I think the one thing that hasn't been pointed out is that .500 is not a team, it is a constant.Team A 7-3Team B 5-5There are indeed 2 games separating Team A and Team B, but Team A is still 4 games over .500.
