If it was UNC vs. the Taliban, I'd be pulling for the Taliban.
1/20/2008 3:40:12 PM
If and only if it helps out NC State.

Marcus Ginyard sums up Chapel Hill's attitude:"I feel like we've been hoping things would go our way, hoping that we knock down the big shot at the last second. But these games shouldn't come down to that. Things need to go our way a lot faster than the last second."Why don't things go our way earlier? We can't win all the time if things don't go our way on time!AHAAnd I thought this N&O writer, Robbi Pickeral came with some pretty good coverage:1. Roy Williams said, "We've been living on the edge, and it finally caught up with us."And Pickeral writes, "'It' came in the form of an unranked Maryland team that had lost to the likes of American and Ohio..."Pickeral doesn't let Roy Williams make it out like some mysterious force "caught up with them," but in fact, Maryland beat they ass.2. Danny Green said, "We didn't respect them as much as we should have."And Pickeral writes, "A surprising statement considering UNC was fortunate to escape with recent wins over Clemson and Georgia Tech."He's commenting on what everyone is thinking. What the fuck is wrong with these fools? They nearly got beat twice recently, and they still don't have respect for their opponents?(Maybe this goes back to Ginyard's slip. They don't have to respect their opponents because things are just supposed to "go their way.")3. And my favorite part:"But 30 seconds later, Bambale Osby, one of several Terps who made things difficult for Hansbrough, mad the go-ahead points on a layup after Green fell down in front of him."AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

i didn't read the entire thread. but i would NEVER pull for unc, ever. even if it was for the acc or the state of north carolina. no. no. and no. not now, not 15 years from now, not when i'm dead, not in another life, not if someone was holding my eyelids open and stabbing my eyeballs with tiny needles. if God said the only way to get into heaven was to cheer for carolina for even ONE game, i would be rotting in hell for eternity.
1/20/2008 3:43:28 PM

1/21/2008 1:16:26 AM
I had this discussion with my wife (Wake alum). She pulls for UNC if they are the only NC/ACC team playing in a given situation. Funny though, that she refuses to ever pull for Duke.As for me, NEVER. EVER. NEVER.
