So you want us have red jersey, red pants, red helmet for every home game? That would be fucking terrible.

I agree about getting rid of the ATL falcon ripoffs and going to something simple/sharp. But white pants at home, and all white on the road.

I really liked our away jersey during the Rivers era, simple white. All red jerseys (keep the white helment) would be good for big games like Georgia does with black jerseys. Plus, I wouldn't want to wear all red during the month of September (i.e. the Clemson game (or slaughter) this year was hot as hell)

(1.) A mandatory class that requires all freshmen to learn NCSU history*, Alma Mater, and fight song. This curriculum could be put into the already useless freshman seminar.

(2.) A class for each engineering discipline that discusses the history of it. Example: say I’m a MEng. Then I would take a class that discusses important dates and people, such as Carnot, that directly impacted the Mech. Eng.

(3.)

* history includes: the Watauga club, founding, important academic dates like the first African American and female students, athletic dates: basketball national championships, Reddick stadium, the move to now Carter-Finley, bowl games, acc championships, ncaa tournament appearances

^^That's dumb, people didn't come here for history in engineering. It provides no additional benefits outside of any other history. Additionally it locks you up in a class with mostly males and taking away one of the few chances guys in engineering have to speak to a girl.

^ Are you serious? you are a fucking goon if you think that 50 less minutes in class will help you meet girls.

what if the worthless E101 class was replaced and taught by your specific discipline. and was taken after your freshman year. by that time you have already completed statics and have devoted much of your time to the belief that you will become an engineer.

if the curriculum was designed well, it could definitely be interesting and atleast better than E101

i think jimmyv's suggestions suck honestly...no offense but i think the only one that partially has merit is the jersey one...but the fight song and history of engineering ones are fucking gay

you mean Riddick stadium? I could see a reddick stadium at duke, maybe

and I think it's a pretty good rule by now that taking the opposite of anything dnl says is probably the right viewpoint to have

More late night/24 hour computer labs. Tired of getting kicked out of a lab at 9 or 10 and having nowhere to go.

this is one of the dumbest suggestions i've ever heard. talk about a pointless class. that material would serve you in no real way after graduation. these are things people with school spirit know/learn anyways. there's nothing wrong with not having school spirit and just going to state to get a degree.

just the idea of such a class makes me lol

Seriously, it can't be that hard or expensive. Get rid of some of the volleyball/badminton nets while you are at it. They are rarely used.

Appalachian has a class like this, but it's an optional class (mainly for freshman). It was actually pretty interesting to learn some things about the school that I probably wouldn't have learned anywhere else.

I'd like to be able to see what teacher I'm going to get for Calculus when I sign up for the class. That would be nice, and I don't see any reason to have it listed as just STAFF.

stop changing the method of registering for classes every 2 or three semesters. it seems like i've gone through three iterations (mypack portal, packtracks, whatever was before that) since i've been here. they're not too hard to figure out, but it's annoying to learn a new system every year.

^ WTF? The only thing to change is the URL and the name. It works now like it worked since I started in 2000.

Kill all smokers.

Seriously, nothing pisses me off more than losers throwing cigarettes on the ground outside, especially when the smoker pole things are one foot away. Look anywhere on the ground, cigarettes are all over the place.

If you smoke you:

Are retarded

Are killing yourself

Are wasting tons of money

You are littering

You are becoming addicted

ALSO GET RID OF ALL THESE DAMN BRICKS

I mean the way to get to registration, class schedule, grades, etc. Sure, registration has stayed the exact same, but instead of going through the PackTracks site, we now have mypack portal. and i could swear there was something before they changed to pack tracks since i've been here too. it's just annoying to go to change the interface of that so often, not the actual registration page.

this website: http://www.ncsu.edu/registrar/
to mypack portal.
that's the difference i'm talking about

^ we originally had TRACS Link. It was similar (but not the same) as Pack Tracks. We switched to Pack Tracks in Spring 06.

All the registration features of Pack Tracks are currently embedded in the MyPack Portal.

However, the registration system itself will change in Spring 09 when we finish the move into PeopleSoft. The functionality will be improved (swapping classes, improved searches) and the look/feel will be more like what you see on the address update pages.

For more information on the switch check out the For Students section of http://www.fis.ncsu.edu/sis/

How'bout a website that doesn't try to kill you with flash because somebody thought that it's the year 2008, so we can't have a simple and easy to navigate website that's not an eye sore.

Everybody I've spoken to hates the new set up. I'm so glad I'm not signing up for any more classes, I got out just in time!
