^^ well i think i saw only one more poster saying they could change it at will, and no one said they could change it at will at every "rotation".and considering that most people can't even see it (not just on TWW) in the other (whichever that happens to be) direction (at will or not), yeah that is an accomplishment, as far as visual perception and brain "power" goes. i am able to see stereograms within a second. how many people can do that, let alone see them at all?"accomplishment" is relative to the context. i never said i am a rocket scientist or a junior shakespeare.

Your 'accomplishment' is meaningless. It's not a projection of a 3-D model. The assumption that it's 3-dimensional is what causes your brain to assume it's spinning in some direction. If you can free your mind of that assumption it's easy to perceive it as it actually is.

i can't get this thing to go counter clockwise, i can only do clockwise

god i hate reading my old posts sometimes

CCW at first, after the thread and the explanation, either/both.I find that when im reading the explanation, or looking off to the side it spins CW. When I focus in on it or look directly at it, the biatch reverses on me.[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 12:21 AM. Reason : mindfuck]

this should settle the debate:

close examination via image ready frame by frame shows clockwise (zoomed ect)
10/16/2007 2:06:42 AM
counter clockwise
10/16/2007 2:08:38 AM
i can make it go both wayssweet(thats what she said)
10/16/2007 2:12:25 AM
Whew...at first only clockwise. Then I just concentrated on the foot at the bottom, and I saw it switch directions. Now I can just focus and see whichever direction I want.

all right, well all I could see was clockwise.now I've forced myself to see it counter-clockwise.and I can't go back to clockwise

I thought I saw one rotation ccw earlier today, but now for the life of me all I can see is clockwise. This reminds me of a thing I saw on TV the other day where they showed a cast figure of a face (like a mask) then started slowly rotating it to the side. Then all of a sudden you realize you were looking at the concave side of it, not the convex side and your brain does a double take.[Edited on May 29, 2008 at 9:07 PM. Reason : and the right brain description doesn't fit me at all]

Since when have duplicate threads in chit chat been locked?Especially when the first one has been dead for like 6 months.

2nd Thecycle23's post:the key to this is orienting on the foot closest to the floor - you may notice that your peripheral vision can be 'tricked' into believing either direction of assumed rotation.[Edited on May 29, 2008 at 10:01 PM. Reason : .]

I only saw counter clockwise for the first 3 minutes. Then came back and it turned clockwise for about 3 minutes. Now, it isn't going in circles. It is bouncing back and forth. Haha, this is bizzare.
